Lucas's pov:

We drove silently, my attention centralized solely on my phone. I was texting Mario, an old friend who works with the CIA.

I wanted him to assist with a background check on Elizabeth Murphy and her entire family. I needed information on her life since I would be keeping her with me.

I chose Mario because he was likely to deliver faster and I could trust his research as well.

Once we arrived inside the building, I enjoined Ray to inform Ms. Gaga to meet me in the hallway leading to the living room.

"Where are we headed?" Mira asked shortly after Ray's evanescence.

"I'm in no mood for your endless talks. Don't ask questions and just move your stiff legs," I shunned her, my voice dripping with flint.

I was just upset as to how she failed to recognize me. I wouldn't blame her, but I couldn't help it either. Somehow, I think it's best she doesn't remember because she grows totally uncomfortable and maybe starts avoiding me as well.

She zipped her mouth, still walking slowly
