Chapter 71. Confrontation and A Cryptic Message.

The dungeons were a grim and desolate place, far removed from the luxuries of the palace above. Unbiddenly, my mind went back to the times when I was locked up in this dungeon, the despair and disappointment I felt as I pleaded my innocence, crying my heart out. It felt just like yesterday even though it had been months. Now the real culprit had been caught and I couldn't believe how the tides had changed. The damp, cold air clung to me, making my skin prickle with unease, my steps echoing through the dark corridors. As I navigated the dimly lit passageways, I couldn't shake the gnawing feeling of apprehension that coiled within my chest. Fear and dread crawled up my spine but I pushed it down, wearing a brave face. I had to confront Morticia, to seek answers from her, even though I wasn't sure what I would hear.
