As I returned to my room and collapsed on my bed, I was determined to not allow his words to get to me. I took a deep breath and reminded myself that I have the power to choose who I will hang out with. The cool weather that night was a welcome relief from the heat of the day. I closed my eyes and allowed sleep to take over.

The following morning, I woke up feeling much better. The weather was bright and refreshing, and I felt renewed. I rushed out of bed and straight to the bathroom for a shower. The warm water cascaded over my skin, washing away the remnants of the previous night's emotions.
