Sensi's eyes bulged as he realized that Gio, at that time, could be in danger of being killed or worse, be dead already.

He got his phone out and began typing furiously, trying to send a text to Gio.

The two men were now in the car Lorenzo had come with, a Chevrolet since Sensi's Ford had been axed.

“Why not call him? I think you should want to hear his voice as opposed to a text which anyone can reply to, mind you,” Lorenzo said.

Without looking up from his phone, Sensi replied, “What if he's trying to hide, right now, and then I call him and give away his location to his pursuers? Besides, we have an agreement to always text if there's trouble.”

“Well, with your indifferent demeanor, one would think you didn't care much for him,” Lorenzo remarked.
