Adam’s POV

I laid on the bed, and a towel flew on my face.

“Go shower,” Elizabeth ordered again, tilting her head toward the bathroom door.

I smirked. “You just want to get me naked, don’t you?”

She rolled her eyes. “I want you clean so you don’t die of an infection, idiot.”

I chuckled, but when she didn’t budge, I sighed, dragging my exhausted body off the chair.

My hands moved to the zip on my trousers and I pulled it slowly, not taking my eyes off hers. It fell to my legs and I walked forward.

Elizabeth’s eyes moved over me, and she coughed and quickly looked away.

"Enjoying the view, sweetheart?" I teased.

“Shut up the fuck up and go,” she hissed.

I smirked, grabbed the towel and walked into the bathroom.

I turned on the warm shower and regretted it. The hot water stung like hell against my wounds.

I bit my lower lip, unable to understand why Elizabeth or any woman would want to bathe in this type of boiling larva.

How did she not get burned?

My mind wandered to the earlier hours.

Richard’s POVThe amber liquid sloshed over the rim as I smashed the glass onto my desk, whisky burning down my throat. I clenched my jaw so tightly that it hurt, and I held onto the crystal tumbler with my fingers until I thought it might break in my hand. The mansion was too quiet, strangely quiet. There were no distant voices, no laughter, and no heavy boots reverberated down the corridor. The walls seemed to be choking beneath the weight of what had transpired, and the air seemed heavy. Some of my men were dead.Elizabeth was gone and Adam was still alive.Everything had gone to hell.I exhaled through my nose, nostrils flaring as the fire in my chest burned hotter. I had been so fucking close. So close to breaking her, bending her to my will, owning her completely. And now? Now she was out there, probably in Adam’s arms. That traitorous son of a bitch! The thought made my grip tighten around the glass until the edges dug into my skin.I had spent years building my empire, elimina

Elizabeth’s POVAdam's gun remained pointing at whoever was at the door.“Nice to see you again, boss,” A voice spoke and Adam seemed to relax.I watched Adam step back, and the door widened, revealing seven men dressed in suits.I recognized them immediately. The first was Maximus, the head bodyguard, then Raphael, followed by Nico and the other four.“For a second, I thought you were going to kill us boss,” Nico said. He was the wildcard and the youngest from his look and behaviour. The other bodyguards held their chuckle and Maximus smacked his head.“Ouch, damn it,” Nico cursed.“How do you find us?” Adam asked, lowering the gun.“We traced your phone’s location and went to the club. It looked fishy. You weren't there, and half the men were missing, so we guessed,” Maximus answered.Adam's face turned cold. He must be thinking of his men who were killed in the crossfire.“They survived,” Maximus answered as if reading Adam's face. “They'll need a longer time to recover.”“And the

Elizabeth’s POV“Aaah!” I screamed in horror as I heard the voice.I began scrambling backward, with my heart pounding in my chest.“No, stop,” the voice said, though softer now. “I didn't mean to scare you.”I stopped and turned to where I heard the voice. A pretty lady stood in front of the tree. She wore the maid uniform and smiled gently despite her worried look. She looked about twenty one or a bit older and Asian. She walked forward stretching her hand towards me. “I am so sorry,” she continued.“Jesus Christ!” I muttered, placing a hand on my chest. “You almost gave me a heart attack.”Her honey kissed skin glowed with the sunlight and she came closer. Her round face and large doe eyes with heart shaped lips made her look innocent. She had a fringe and long dark hair reaching her breast.I took her hand, and slowly got up from the floor. My breathing calmed down as I watched her.“I didn't mean it. I'm so sorry. Master Adam is going to kill me if he…” she said looking at me and

Chapter 49:Adam's POVI kept flipping through the pages of paper on my desk. The documents had suddenly become annoying to read.I was running out of patience and took it out on the papers. The numbers became blurry and seemed to mix. I pinched my nose and closed the document."Has she come out yet?" I asked without looking up.Maximus looked at me with a grin and blinked annoyingly. "Nope."I exhaled slowly, tapping my fingers against the desk. "How long does she plan to sulk?"Maximus chuckled. "Probably forever. She's a woman. They’re stubborn as hell. I should know because I have one. But if you’re that worried, maybe you should check up on her."I shot him a glare. "I’m not worried."Maximus smirked. "Right."I shook my head, but his words nagged at me. Elizabeth had locked herself in that room for two damn days. Not a single sight of her."You should know by now," Maximus continued, "women always want things to go their way, even when it shouldn’t."I stayed silent, thinking.M

Richard's POVI stepped into the room, looking at Elizabeth's peaceful, sleeping figure on the bed.Her hands and feet were tied to the edges of the bed with a long rope.I traced the high slit of the gown she had been changed into and my mouth watered, staring at her pale skin. She looked every bit like an angel, yet so seductive."I never thought I would want you as much as I do," I whispered, and sat on the edge of the bed.Watching her sleep was like a price. I let my eyes trace the lines of her face. Her rosy cheeks made my heart dance. I didn't think. I didn't need to and gently lowered my face kissing the side of her forehead."What do I have to do to make you mine?"I let my fingers trace a smooth line along her cheek, feeling the warmth of her skin. She groaned softly, and moved slightly. I didn't stop, I couldn't stop. My hand kept going downward, and she flinched as I touched her neck.I smiled, tracing my fingers to her bosoms. They were the palest skin tone and grew bigge

Adam’s POVThe stench of whiskey, sweat, and bad choices clung to the air like a second skin. Smoke twisted through the buzzing gambling den, thick as the tension simmering beneath the surface. Laughter rang out, sharp and reckless, punctuated by the occasional crash of a glass, the groan of a man who’d just lost more than he could afford. And then I walked in.The noise dipped. Just for a second. Just enough for me to catch the shift. The way backs stiffened, the way men at the tables glanced up, clocking my presence before quickly looking away. Some with fear. Others with thinly veiled resentment.I didn’t care either way.I adjusted my cufflinks, the crisp linen of my tailored suit a stark contrast to the filth of this place. I wasn’t here to blend in. I was here to hunt. And my prey sat right in front of me.Takeshi Sato.He was a Yakuza associate. Greedy, sloppy and weak. The bastard was drowning in liquor, his arm draped around a half-dressed woman who laughed at something he sa

He set his eyes upon mine, and his eyebrows were drawn together. He stepped closer. “What happened?”I tried to regulate my breathing.“Nothing,” I lied. His gaze turned dark, and he stepped forward. “Don't lie to me.”I swallowed hard.He took another step. He spoke, his voice dropped, almost soft but not soft. “Who was here?”I hesitated, even though I did know not to assume Adam wouldn't eventually find out. And, I whispered, “Lance.”His entire body became stiff. He stayed silent and then, his voice turned low. “Lance was here.”I nodded.Something shifted his expression. It scared me.Without another word, he grabbed his cell and called. “Double the security. Now.”His eyes didn’t leave mine. “I will kill the man myself if he ever gets close to you again.”“I…” My voice stopped short. He checked her pulse and turned to me. “I'll have to watch her to avoid such things happening again.”I didn't answer, only nodding slightly while I kept my eyes on her.I should have never let her out of my sight. She was suffering because of me. This was never going to happen again.Looking at her fragile form made me want to kill Richard, but I couldn't.I stood up, and the door opened. Yumi walked in, and Christine entered a few seconds later. She had a bandage on her forehead and looked guilty. Her eyes resting on Elizabeth.“What do you want?” I asked, facing Christine.“I'm so sorry,” Christine said, her voice trembling.“That's not what I asked,” I replied. My eyes stayed glued to her.
