Alice’s Point of view
"Are you sure?" Ben asks.
"Positive." Assures Elliot.
I fall into the chair next to Elliot. "So how did they do it?"
Ben sighs loudly and drinks a large glass of whiskey. "I don't know. Maybe some other spells or potions don't require a sacrifice."
We remain silent for a moment before Elliot speaks up again.
"At least we have some assumptions now. We won't have any more answers on the subject tonight. On the other hand, I do have some other information."
He then tells the story of our mothers and Ben is stunned. He's even more shocked by the story of our grandfathers and I have to admit that I was so not ready for that. Like, really not ready.
"This is impossible." I say. "We would have heard about this Violet and this Vivian for sure."
"That's just it. According
Elliot’s Point of viewThe sparks burn me and she responds to my kiss with the same urgency and desperation that I have. It's touching her now that makes me realize how much it hurt to be away from her.Our sighs and grunts echo through the room, Alice's hands leaving furrows of fire on my skin. The smell of her arousal fills the room, making me lose my mind. Shit. I press myself against her and she gasps as she feels my erection against her hip."By the way, I don't think I told you." I say between kisses. She's completely out of breath. "What?""You look beautiful in that dress." I whisper softly. She moans and continues to kiss me, licking my lips to ask for entrance. I moan and she takes the opportunity to taste me fully. After a few minutes, she says breathlessly "By the way, I don't think I
Elliot’s Point of viewThe meal was interminable. I finally went back to my room and immediately took off these awful shoes. I'll never wear those horrors again.I look at my phone but Alice hasn't called yet. I throw it on my bed and decide to take a shower.I am just beginning to untie my tie when someone knocks. A little surprised, I open the door to a very agitated Owen and Simon. They walk into my room and I barely have time to close my door before Owen starts talking at full speed."Don't be mad at me, but I told Simon about the mission you gave me and it gave me an idea. I told you I didn't have the computer skills, but Simon's friend's friend has a cousin whose girlfriend is the sister of an acquaintance of ... well, yeah, whatever. I got the info you wanted.""Wait wait wait. This friend ... the girlfriend of the sister of the acquaintance's cousin, an
Alice’s Point of viewI call Elliot as soon as I close my door. I'm a little nervous about talking to him again.Back at the ball, I couldn't meet his eyes because we were placed back to back. But throughout the meal, I couldn't think of anything else but what happened in the library.I lean against the door and close my eyes, the feeling of his tongue on me coming back and I'm still all wet."Hello?"His voice brings me back to reality and I clear my throat. "Hey. Sorry, maybe I should have waited until we took our shower." I say as I kick off my heels and throw them loudly on the floor."No, don't worry about it. What was that noise?""My Louboutins. The ones I had to buy when I conducted my investigation at the store." I say with a smile."Oh yeah. Your heels." He says in a voice laden with de
Alice’s Point of viewAwkward. That's the word. Our 3 packs are gathered in this small lounge where we have been waiting for the King to meet us for at least two hours. Each pack has eight representatives: the Alpha, the Luna, the Beta, the Gamma, their children who will take their place and the former Alpha. The tension is palpable and the atmosphere is heavy. I observe Alpha Vincent, Derek's grandfather, observing with an impassive air my grandfather and Alpha Georges. His sisters were their mates and they both committed suicide. Yet, he doesn't seem to hold a grudge.Besides, he sorts of raised my mother and Luna Lily and he has no contact with them now. And from what I can see, he doesn't seem to miss them."I'm sure he does, but there are so many secrets between our packs that he doesn't let on, for fear of it gettin
Alice’s Point of viewWe barely took off when my father and grandfather yell at me."What were you doing talking about that in front of everyone?" My father roars."Now that they know about these poisonous plants, they'll do everything they can to find one and destroy us with it." Adds my grandfather.I sigh. "Whether you like it or not, we're all in this together. I felt it was important to share the information I had.""What you know is no interest to us." Spits out my grandfather."You should have told us before." Says my father."You would have talked me out of it.""And we would have been right!" Shouts my grandfather. "Throwing it out in front of everyone. It's not possible to be that stupid."A grunt is heard. "Don't talk to my daughter like that." Says my mother through her te
Alice’s Point of viewEverything stops. Time stops, my heart stops, the world stops. Then everything collapses.Cassie howls in pain and I realize that the uneasiness I have been feeling for the last few hours comes from him."Alice, are you listening to me?" Melanie whispers.I blink a few times and try to keep a straight face."Is it bad?"She nods. "Their doctor examined him on the flight. He has no idea what it could be, but he thinks at this rate he won't last."Dying. He's dying. My heart is torn out and I collapse to the ground in pain and despair, alerting everyone."Get out of the way! Alice! Melanie, what's happening to her?" My mom asks in a panicked tone."I don't know, she just collapsed all of a sudden."The voices be
Alice’s Point of viewEveryone rushes into my room as I wake up and I waste precious time reassuring them.A lame excuse and 20 minutes later, I'm free. My father informs me that Elliot has been poisoned and that blood tests have been done on Derek and me but no trace of any poison. It seems that this time, only Elliot was targeted. It's incomprehensible and right now, I don't care. I have only one mission: find a witch. In less than 24 hours."So easy." I say to Cassie with despair."Actually, yes. A witch is waiting for us at the cabin where we took Joey and Gwen years ago." "This is not the time for humor Cassie." "I'm dead serious. The Moon Goddess told me so."I stop in the middle of the hallway and Melanie and Sam who were following me bump into me.
Alice’s Point of viewThey surround me, ready to jump on me."I've got something to treat Elliot."They immediately stop growling and exchange puzzled looks. One of them walks away to shift behind a tree."Alpha Alice! What are you doing?" Asks one of my guards through mind-link, panicking."It's all right. I'm here of my own free will to help them." "We're coming!" Says another."No, don't! They might take it as a declaration of war. They will feel less threatened if I go alone." "Why are you going to help them?" A third one asks suspiciously."For the sake of our pack. Don't worry, I'll be back soon."I hear them whimper in the distance, not reassured that I am on enemy ground. The man who shifted
Elliot’s Point of viewI sigh and drop my head on my desk, nearly knocking over a whole stack of documents. It's been a year since Alice and I took over from our fathers, and I'm very proud to say that we're doing quite well considering our young age and the huge territory we have to manage.Although we are both officially the Alphas of this pack, it has been too complicated internally and most members call her Luna, which she willingly accepts as long as she remains an Alpha in the eyes of the rest of the world. It was the same for our two Betas and our two Gammas. So we had to create new titles. Sam is Beta, Owen is Delta, Simon is Gamma and Melanie is Epsilon. It was a little strange at first but it has made our lives a lot easier. We have a lot of work to do, but we've managed to organize ourselves to continue college on the side. The new packho
Alice’s Point of view"Get a grip, for Goddess' sake!" Cassie tells me impatiently.I nervously pace around my old room, biting my nails as I go.After visiting the Silvers, we announced the King's decision to our parents, who took it surprisingly well. They were a little sad to retire early, but they admitted it was for the best. They hated each other too long to cooperate so quickly. We decided to build a new packhouse on neutral ground, right in the center of town.Oh yeah. Since the packs are now united, the corridors that were set up are no longer useful and the King also wants us to take care of the city so that we don't have a 'dead zone' in the middle of our territory. Great. Even more area to manage. So Elliot and I had to plan our wedding in less than a week and I can't thank enough our entire new pack for their help.
Elliot’s Point of viewWe arrive at the airport of the city, the plan of battle already established. We call all our parents to let them know we are here.We shift and head towards the Silver's territory. Arrived in the proximity, we shift back and we approach slowly the border to not look threatening.A growl is heard and we freeze on the spot. The sound of branches is heard and a man comes to us. He has a hard, closed face, but shows a frank surprise when he recognizes us."Alpha Elliot, Alpha Alice. What are you doing here?"I sniff discreetly and notice that a lot of Silvers are guarding their border."Are you afraid of an attack?" I ask.He pretends not to understand and Alice cuts him off."What's your name?""Roger.""Roger, we can see that the guard has doubled. We
Alice’s Point of viewI move slowly on a very comfortable bed. We finally managed to find the bedroom with this huge bed in which, I confess, we did not sleep much.He woke me up several times during the night for this new need that we couldn't seem to satisfy. No matter how many times or in what position, I feel like I can't get enough. He sleeps beside me, breathing deeply. I stroke his cheek and then his lips with my fingertips, drawing a moan from him.Knocks are heard at the front door. I move an inch away from him, but Elliot's arms close around me to crush me against his chest."Where do you think you're going?"More banging can be heard. He growls. "I can't believe it. I said I didn't want anyone to disturb us."The person knocks harder."Leave it. They will go away." He
Alice’s Point of viewHe opens his room hastily and pushes me inside. I expect him to jump on me as usual but he walks away from me to his dressing, without a glance for me who is on fire."Uh, Elliot?"He doesn't answer and I just hear drawers opening and closing and zipper noises."What the hell is he doing?" Cassie asks, exasperated. "Has he forgotten us or what?"He rushes out of his room with a bag, dragging me behind him. He grabs my room key from my back pocket and repeats the same operation in my room.He comes out just as quickly with a second bag. Still pulling me along behind him, he knocks like a madman on Owen's door.He opens it with anger. "WHAT? Why are you knocking like that?"Elliot scans him with and I notice that Owen is wearing only a towel around his waist. His hair is
Alice’s Point of viewTwo weeks. Two weeks that our families have taken over their pack and are taking turns caring for the Silvers. It's not a sustainable situation over time, but it's good enough for now.I've been trying to work things out with Elliot for two long weeks. He and I have talked a lot and just when I thought we were going to work things out, we ended up at an impasse. At first, he was afraid that my feelings had changed and although I reassured him as best I could, I can feel that he still has doubts. For my part, I am afraid that one day he will leave me. Werewolves don't always end up with their fated mate and choose one. And they are happy. But we can't even do that. We will have nothing to bond us. So even though humans seem to love each other like that, it's not nearly enough for werewolves who need to really mark their 'territory'. We are part animals after
Alice’s Point of viewI'm all too familiar with this kind of dream. The kind where I visit Elliot when we're both asleep. Or almost dead.I'm in the forest, dressed in a nice pale pink summer dress. My hair is up in an elegant bun.Cassie jumps around in my head, not daring to believe it."I thought our bond was broken!" She exclaims. "So did I!" "Quick, let's find him!"I start running through the forest, calling for him with all my strength. After a few minutes, I hear a noise behind me.I turn around and see two fuchsia eyes staring at me intently.Although I'm surprised, I'm not scared at all. In fact, I feel calm in front of this eyes with their unusual color."Huh, Hello?"The eyes blink and a wolf comes out
Alice’s Point of viewAn excruciating pain pierces me and I just want to die.So is this what it feels like when your mate dies? I understand why the one left commits suicide or dies of pain within seconds."Let's think about our family, our friends. Think about Elliot. He is our mate, not Derek." Says Cassie."That's not how I feel right now!" I say wryly. After an eternity, the pain becomes bearable and I manage to stand up.I look down at Derek's body, the body of the man who was my best friend for all his years. What he did is unforgivable but I can't help but feel sad that I lost a friend."That's the past." Cassie tells me. "We need to focus on the future."I nod and leave Derek's body in the room before opening the door to the dressing
Alice’s point of viewEveryone says that when you get marked, you feel a sharp pain replaced by intense pleasure. As Derek's fangs close on my neck, I do feel a sharp pain but it only gets worse by the second.I feel a link forming between us. A powerful link that goes until the deepest of my soul.I hear a harrowing scream. For a moment I think it's mine, but through my tears I see Elliot throwing himself at us, mad with rage and anger. The guards next to him hold him down and tackle him to the ground. I see him struggle and one of the guards seems to grab a baton to hit him.Derek finally let go and I rush forward to stop the guard's arm inches from Elliot's face."Derek, you promised." I say as I raise my head to him.He wipes the corner of his lip where some of my blood had gotten stuck.
