Elliot’s Point of view
"We need to talk to them as soon as possible. Do you think your grandfather will be okay with telling you what happened?" I ask.
She huffs. "I'll try anyway, but let's just say Grandpa James doesn't like me very much. I'd be very surprised if he would even agree to talk to me."
I frown. "What do you mean by he doesn't love you?"
She shrugs as if it doesn't matter, but I can feel she's hurt about that. Frankly, I don't understand. She's perfect!
"Why?"
She looks at me like I'm stupid. "Because I'm a girl, of course."
"I don't get it. What's the problem?"
"It's so obvious! He wanted a strong heir, a powerful male, and all he got was a fragile girl."
Leo growls in the back of my mind. How could her grandfather think such a thing?
"You're not
Elliot’s Point of viewI walk home dragging my feet. Leo is angry with me because I hurt Alice's feelings and I feel terrible. First thing in the morning I will go to her and apologize. This decision does not appease Leo and he cuts off communication between us.I knock at Owen's room but he doesn't answer. I do it again but still nothing."Owen, where are you?" "In my room. Why?" "Because I've been knocking on your door 20 times, and my fists are embedded in it!"He finally opens the door and I see the dark circles under his eyes."You look like shit."He turns around and walks over to his desk. "If it's to tell me sweet words like that, you can go back."I walk in and close the door behind me while he puts his headphones back on and continues playi
Elliot’s Point of viewAfter telling everything to Owen and Simon, I make a detour to my room. Even if Alice had camouflaged her smell, I prefer to take a shower to be sure that absolutely nothing remains. Grandpa Georges has a real detector in his nose. He knows if you stay too long near a Blue. A real superpower. In the shower, I think about my friends' reactions when I told them my mom and Luna Mary's story. Owen didn't say a word but Simon was ecstatic. The fact that the Moon Goddess was so involved and that She had already tried to bind our packs drove him crazy.Simon went into Sherlock Holmes mode and already had a notebook with all the evidence and theories he had. Owen then called him an idiot for writing it all down in a notebook that anyone can find and read. So we destroyed it.We also learned that Simon and Melanie had decided to accept each other. He was all
Alice’s Point of viewI am so angry. Who does he think he is to give me orders like that? Forbid me to go and see this mysterious source? I'm dreaming!I walk towards the campus, with an angry step. I pass a few people who look at me strangely. A girl on the phone looks me up and down with an evil look."What? You got a problem?" I bark. She looks at me with a scornful look and as if to sneer at the person she is talking to."You need to calm down! Geez, it's a wonder which one of us is the wild beast." Says Cassie."She pissed me off!" "She was just walking. That's just your ego getting hurt." "That again! It's not an ego thing at all! And I don't understand you approving like that. You're an Alpha damn it! You shouldn't be as angry as I am, if not more!"
Alice’s Point of viewMom and Dad are outside sunbathing. It's hot, it's summer. I want ice cream. A chocolate ice cream.I run into the packhouse and run into the Gamma, Melanie's dad."Ah, Alice! Aren't you outside with Sam and Melanie?" He says as he crouches down in front of me."Yes I am but I want ice cream!""An ice cream? Fine, I'll give you an ice cream if you tell me how old you are." He says, smiling at me."That's easy! I'm five years old!" I tell him and point to five fingers. He laughs and gives me ice cream. The scene changes and I find myself with Derek, practicing. We are 10 years old and we can only use sticks so we don't hurt ourselves. We are too small and we lack strength according to our trainer but that will come with time. For the moment we are learning mostly the techniques of
Alice’s Point of viewI walk in the forest, out of the territory, in the company of two rogues. Improbable but true. I discuss with Joey about anything and everything and find him very nice. He is a good but unlucky man. That's why I decided to take them to a small abandoned cabin, a few miles from the border. I discovered it a few years ago when I was walking around, which earned me a sermon from Joey. He says I shouldn’t go out of the territory where I'm safe, which is not wrong. However, it allowed me to discover this shelter that is no longer inhabited while it is still in perfect condition. It even has electricity and running water. I like to go there when I want to be alone. The cabin is made of dark wood with a small porch. The main room contains an old sofa, a light wood table and a kitchenette. A fireplace warms the atmosphere and on either side is a door to a bed
Alice’s Point of viewBeep. Beep. Beep.Where am I? Where is the wolf?Beep. Beep.Oh, yeah. She helped me. Helped for what already?Beep. Beep.Oh, yeah. The light. The pain. The car that hit me.Beep. Beep.I hear whispers in the dark. I only catch bribes. "...not an accident .... Didn't see the plate... Fractured bones... Doesn't heal."I feel a hand rest on mine.Beep-beep-beep."She's reacting!" Exclaims a man near me.Someone else takes my other hand. "Alice, it's dad. Can you hear us?"I try to move and speak but I feel paralyzed. I feel someone kiss me on the forehead. "We're all here, sweetie. We're staying right here." A woman says.Where is the man from earlier? I want to see him
Alice’s Point of viewAfter the doctors examined me, my mother rushed to my side."How are you feeling?""Tired, but I'm okay. I'm sore all over but the doctors gave me some painkillers. They told me that I've been here for three days."I hear my father swallow. "Yes. Do you remember what happened?"I nod. "Yes, a car hit me. I didn't see the model or the driver. And I don't think it was an accident."Someone knocks on the door and I see Sam, Melanie, Alpha Jack, and Derek walk in. They all hug me, telling me how happy they are that I am alive."I was so scared when I got there and found you." Derek tells me."You were the one who found me?" I ask, surprised. He nods. "I was with Miss Gibson at school and we heard a car speed up and a loud noise. We went outside to see what was
Elliot’s Point of viewI am tired of being in the hospital. My wound is slowly healing and I don't need to stay in the hospital for observation, but my mother refuses to let me leave this room. She told my father that it was to make sure I was okay, but from the look on her face, I know it’s to stop me from seeing Alice.Leo assures me that she is fine but I would rather see her with my own eyes. The last time I talked to her she didn't remember me and just thinking about it makes my heart breaks again."But I tell you she recognized me!" Says Leo wearily. "I assure you she's fine.""Yes, but you said that the link was cut and that she disappeared.""Yes, and I also said that Cassiopeia told me she woke up. You can believe me for Goddess sake!" He says, annoyed.I sigh. "Excuse me. It's just
Elliot’s Point of viewI sigh and drop my head on my desk, nearly knocking over a whole stack of documents. It's been a year since Alice and I took over from our fathers, and I'm very proud to say that we're doing quite well considering our young age and the huge territory we have to manage.Although we are both officially the Alphas of this pack, it has been too complicated internally and most members call her Luna, which she willingly accepts as long as she remains an Alpha in the eyes of the rest of the world. It was the same for our two Betas and our two Gammas. So we had to create new titles. Sam is Beta, Owen is Delta, Simon is Gamma and Melanie is Epsilon. It was a little strange at first but it has made our lives a lot easier. We have a lot of work to do, but we've managed to organize ourselves to continue college on the side. The new packho
Alice’s Point of view"Get a grip, for Goddess' sake!" Cassie tells me impatiently.I nervously pace around my old room, biting my nails as I go.After visiting the Silvers, we announced the King's decision to our parents, who took it surprisingly well. They were a little sad to retire early, but they admitted it was for the best. They hated each other too long to cooperate so quickly. We decided to build a new packhouse on neutral ground, right in the center of town.Oh yeah. Since the packs are now united, the corridors that were set up are no longer useful and the King also wants us to take care of the city so that we don't have a 'dead zone' in the middle of our territory. Great. Even more area to manage. So Elliot and I had to plan our wedding in less than a week and I can't thank enough our entire new pack for their help.
Elliot’s Point of viewWe arrive at the airport of the city, the plan of battle already established. We call all our parents to let them know we are here.We shift and head towards the Silver's territory. Arrived in the proximity, we shift back and we approach slowly the border to not look threatening.A growl is heard and we freeze on the spot. The sound of branches is heard and a man comes to us. He has a hard, closed face, but shows a frank surprise when he recognizes us."Alpha Elliot, Alpha Alice. What are you doing here?"I sniff discreetly and notice that a lot of Silvers are guarding their border."Are you afraid of an attack?" I ask.He pretends not to understand and Alice cuts him off."What's your name?""Roger.""Roger, we can see that the guard has doubled. We
Alice’s Point of viewI move slowly on a very comfortable bed. We finally managed to find the bedroom with this huge bed in which, I confess, we did not sleep much.He woke me up several times during the night for this new need that we couldn't seem to satisfy. No matter how many times or in what position, I feel like I can't get enough. He sleeps beside me, breathing deeply. I stroke his cheek and then his lips with my fingertips, drawing a moan from him.Knocks are heard at the front door. I move an inch away from him, but Elliot's arms close around me to crush me against his chest."Where do you think you're going?"More banging can be heard. He growls. "I can't believe it. I said I didn't want anyone to disturb us."The person knocks harder."Leave it. They will go away." He
Alice’s Point of viewHe opens his room hastily and pushes me inside. I expect him to jump on me as usual but he walks away from me to his dressing, without a glance for me who is on fire."Uh, Elliot?"He doesn't answer and I just hear drawers opening and closing and zipper noises."What the hell is he doing?" Cassie asks, exasperated. "Has he forgotten us or what?"He rushes out of his room with a bag, dragging me behind him. He grabs my room key from my back pocket and repeats the same operation in my room.He comes out just as quickly with a second bag. Still pulling me along behind him, he knocks like a madman on Owen's door.He opens it with anger. "WHAT? Why are you knocking like that?"Elliot scans him with and I notice that Owen is wearing only a towel around his waist. His hair is
Alice’s Point of viewTwo weeks. Two weeks that our families have taken over their pack and are taking turns caring for the Silvers. It's not a sustainable situation over time, but it's good enough for now.I've been trying to work things out with Elliot for two long weeks. He and I have talked a lot and just when I thought we were going to work things out, we ended up at an impasse. At first, he was afraid that my feelings had changed and although I reassured him as best I could, I can feel that he still has doubts. For my part, I am afraid that one day he will leave me. Werewolves don't always end up with their fated mate and choose one. And they are happy. But we can't even do that. We will have nothing to bond us. So even though humans seem to love each other like that, it's not nearly enough for werewolves who need to really mark their 'territory'. We are part animals after
Alice’s Point of viewI'm all too familiar with this kind of dream. The kind where I visit Elliot when we're both asleep. Or almost dead.I'm in the forest, dressed in a nice pale pink summer dress. My hair is up in an elegant bun.Cassie jumps around in my head, not daring to believe it."I thought our bond was broken!" She exclaims. "So did I!" "Quick, let's find him!"I start running through the forest, calling for him with all my strength. After a few minutes, I hear a noise behind me.I turn around and see two fuchsia eyes staring at me intently.Although I'm surprised, I'm not scared at all. In fact, I feel calm in front of this eyes with their unusual color."Huh, Hello?"The eyes blink and a wolf comes out
Alice’s Point of viewAn excruciating pain pierces me and I just want to die.So is this what it feels like when your mate dies? I understand why the one left commits suicide or dies of pain within seconds."Let's think about our family, our friends. Think about Elliot. He is our mate, not Derek." Says Cassie."That's not how I feel right now!" I say wryly. After an eternity, the pain becomes bearable and I manage to stand up.I look down at Derek's body, the body of the man who was my best friend for all his years. What he did is unforgivable but I can't help but feel sad that I lost a friend."That's the past." Cassie tells me. "We need to focus on the future."I nod and leave Derek's body in the room before opening the door to the dressing
Alice’s point of viewEveryone says that when you get marked, you feel a sharp pain replaced by intense pleasure. As Derek's fangs close on my neck, I do feel a sharp pain but it only gets worse by the second.I feel a link forming between us. A powerful link that goes until the deepest of my soul.I hear a harrowing scream. For a moment I think it's mine, but through my tears I see Elliot throwing himself at us, mad with rage and anger. The guards next to him hold him down and tackle him to the ground. I see him struggle and one of the guards seems to grab a baton to hit him.Derek finally let go and I rush forward to stop the guard's arm inches from Elliot's face."Derek, you promised." I say as I raise my head to him.He wipes the corner of his lip where some of my blood had gotten stuck.
