The soldiers were wearing their clean uniforms, standing straight in the middle of the training ground. Their clear face with no dirt on it irritated Shadow for the first time.
At a glance, the field they were in looked relatively new, the podium she was onto seemed sturdy and clean.
They had the uniform on - camouflage trousers and jackets, a massive helmet wrapped on their heads, and some stuffed pockets which were basically full of deadly weapons around the body.
Lastly, the black shiny boots. With a rifle in their hands.
It seemed like they were ready to engage in battle.
Although it wasn’t enough to guarantee a good result. With their standing posture alone Shadow could tell something was wrong.
“I will heed to your order, My Lord.” Amel saluted her military style. It was so sudden, Shadow had no time to question him.“I wish to locate him later by tomorrow morning.” This time it was Conan’s responsibility.“Yes, My Lord. Some of my trusted people had already sniffed his trace near the werewolf border, My Lord. We will give a further report tomorrow.”Shadow stepped outside the hall, walked towards the soldiers that were still standing under the hot sun. “I want to know their legitimate location. Ask Amel’s people to speed things up.”
She threw yet another file to the other side with a heavy groan. Yet another futile job. Met another yet dead road. Until when she needed to clean all the mess? Until when did she need to suffer? Damn it.“My Lord.” Elijah, who was putting her sleep attire on her body at the corner of the room, froze up as another innocent file flew like a boomerang to the sky and dropped dramatically on the marble floor.“Not too worried, dear.” The cold voice hinted a smile in it although she wasn’t looking in Elijah’s direction at all.“You can read all the documents tomorrow, My Lord.” Elijah successfully wore her nightgown.
“Listen up, Elijah.”Elijah, who was at her side, swiveled her head promptly to the side, in her direction, waiting for her to open her mouth for additional information.Today was a normal day. It’s been three days since she accepted the position and a lot of changes have been made in a short time.Well, she had prior knowledge of arranging a safety net for the broken and abandoned on the bad side of the world.“What I will do today will shatter your perception towards me. Completely. No cap.” She shrugged her jacket off, groaned ever so slightly as she had not had enough sleep due to problems. She went into work as early as dawn, putting her fo
“Wake up!”The people in the room wonder alone. The casual yet cold voice barely made it to their hearing. On what principle she believed the dreaming man could hear her.“My Lord, that’s not…” Amel retorted died there when the supposed man stirred up with a loud groan and the tips of the fingers touched the bent skull due to the metal, probably having a trauma.“Ugh…” Samuel laid flat on the ground. Opening his eyes seemed like an impossible task but he managed to do so somehow.Maybe because of the shock he received the moment he saw so many black shoes standing straight like a knight or something. They were wearing all black cloaks with only black shiny shoes visible. The rest was already covered with a lon
“... generally speaking, the oracle exists when the current fire user is corrupt.”“Corrupt?” Samuel almost shouted.“A complete idiot.”Amel understood Shadow for the first time. Her words did make sense.“But if we utilize him to the fullest, we can have a better result.” She uttered nonchalantly albeit her eyes were serious. Asking the real question. All the eyes turned to him. It was indeed an ideal scenario. Whereas, Samuel felt the foreboding feeling at the back of his head. Clearly, everyone was considering the option and it was against his value. He was born to lead not being led.“Get it into your thick skull, dude. Yo
Samuel shuddered when he felt the intense pressure behind his back. Last night was the scariest night he ever had in his life. The small lord not only bound him, but he also shattered him into pieces. In a small storeroom, he picked himself up after the nightmare he experienced. The nightmare he had was mostly about the new lord. As he experienced before, she was stealing his air, torturing him with a metal rod, and water boat him. It was terrible. He had learned the hard way. In their first meeting. Which never pissed off the lord chosen by the oracle. The craziness was out of the loop. The demon was dangerous but the lord was just straight-up crazy and vicious. Now, at early dawn, they were stalking the werewolves who res
Conan and Amel came back with a large group of werewolves towing behind them, running after them with their angry growls befitting their status as beastmen. The intruders dared to bare their fangs to them.Conan had been chased before by those stronger and in numbers. He ran fast, then either hid or found refuge. It was all he could do. He escaped every time without unnecessarily putting up a fight just because he had no confidence to do so.He had training, for sure. But those moments the enemy chased after his brain on speed-mode, ultra-focused on the escape rather than to fight for his life. But right now, she was behind him, watching him like a hawk. Giving her undivided trust to him, sending from behind. So he stopped running away as usual. He was so use
Her heart was pounding hard as her body was agile enough to duck any attack. Albeit the voice inside her head, her eyes were slowly accustomed to the speed of this werewolf. The fast speed of his body nearly could be followed by her eyes. Putting her energy to the eyes and her body was quite exhausted yet adequate. Her chest rose and dropped brutally. “You just don’t die, don’t you?” The werewolf looked at her in trepidation, but his long nails swung dangerously near her face. Thankfully, Elijah stopped midway and bent backward at the neck of the time, barely spared her flawless cheek. But her toe-sole shoe dug deeper to the ground before she launched another swing. She practically flew and used his shoulder to duck the attack from another werewolf and he
