Malikul threw the book on the table, gritting his teeth in anger. His veiny hands brushed his hair to the back, eyes pierced through all his subordinates.

The atmosphere inside the small room was tense. Four other people that were inside quickly looked away, afraid their mere gaze would get on his nerves. They wanted to prevent such.

“Psst, Wan.” A buff male with average size leaned toward some other male.

“What?” Wan turned his head and leaned in.

“What is wrong with him?” That raspy voice inquired.

“Shadow.”

One word is all it takes to make them understand.

Everyone was clear on why Malikul was moody.

“But why?” The only girl in the room crouched down near Wan, leaning her head on the table.

“I don’t know myself.”

“He has been reading the book quite diligently. Don’t tell me…” The third male, one with curly hair pointed his chin at the book on the table.

Wan nodded and affirmed it. “She is inside the book.”
