Albert heard that disappointed sigh and his heart shattered.

Pressed his fingers deep into the tree trunk, he anticipated her steps to walk away from him. Using that as an excuse, he wanted to self-destruct and maybe will become his villain origin story. Who knows.

To be frank, he had improved tremendously after only his third lesson. But the speed quickly decreased as if it had met a dead end. And at first, Shadow was proud of his improvement but soon it became a snide remark from time to time.

Sometimes, he was scared to face his master. Knowing his limitations, he felt ashamed for not giving what she wanted to him. He felt useless.

Shadow was an exceptional leader and teacher. She knew what he needed to be improved in and constantly pushed him over his limit. Honestly, despite the setback, he enjoyed every moment they were together.

However, contrary to his belief, he felt the warm small hand rubbing his back in a circular motion.
