Thank you all for reading!
Grabbing a towel, I wiped my face off. The heat was already starting to get up there and the humidity wasn’t helping. I had just finished my workout and now it was time to look into where my men were at. “Sarah!” Dax called from behind. “What’s up?” I stopped and waited for him to catch up. He looked so damn sexy. It was hard to keep my focus. “I am going to finish up here and head back to my pack for a bit. I should be back by supper.” “No worries. Do what you need to do. I have training today and I’m sure dad will want his own training in.” I said wearily. That won’t be fun. “Yeah, I would prefer to be here for that, in case something happens…” Dax said, frowning. “Don’t know what to tell you there. You still have your own work that needs done. I will text you when we are going to start?” I offered as a compromise. “I guess that will have to do. Still don’t like it.” “Noted.” I said. I turned to leave, but he grabbed my arm. Pulling me back to him, Dax wrapped his arm ar
I was so pissed at Jason for that. Who does he think he is to treat another person like that? I am going to have to find Mila and make sure she is finding some good friends and fitting in. I was so mad that I didn’t even knock as I walked in to my parent’s office. “Sarah! What are you doing here?” My mom dropped some papers. She dove down hurriedly to get them. “Oh, I’m sorry! Let me help you!” I felt bad for startling her. “NO!” she yelled. It made me stop instantly and look scared. She was feeling pretty frazzled. “I’m sorry, but no thank you. I got this. Actually, why don’t you head down to the training building and I will have your dad meet you? I will be there shortly.” She said it nicely, but I knew it wasn’t a choice. I didn’t understand what was going on with her. “Um, okay?” I said. Turning around, I shut the door and was completely confused by what had just happened. It wasn’t like mom to not let me handle something or keep something from me. Usually, she wants me to
It was over before it really began, but the burn was forever lingering in my mind. The zebra wood desk served as a good spot to prop my feet up as I analyzed over what happened. It was a very quick burn, like just a peck. Maybe she jumped him and he was feeling pretty angry at the moment. The only way to really stop girls from coming on to him was to finally mate with him and announce our mating with the world. My computer dinged, signaling I had an email that just came through. My L-shaped desk was my dad’s design. The Zebra wood was mine. I loved the contrast of the colors, but the smell of the wood was horrible. We had to stain it to keep the smell from penetrating all the surfaces of my office. I had chosen to go with a lighter grey color scheme in my office as most offices are dark browns and neutrals. I went with a light grey and blue fabric couch and chairs with dark blue accents around. Instead of a desktop computer, I went with a 2-in-1 laptop that I could take with me since
The next morning, neither Dax nor I really spoke to each other. We took turns in the bathroom and getting dressed for the day. It was going to be another hot one, so I chose a grey short sleeve cotton sundress with white sneakers as we were going to go visit the stadium. Dax put on khaki shorts with a white polo. He styled his hair back with gel and put on a pair of nice sneakers. I hadn’t told him he could put his stuff in my closet yet, but I didn’t mind if he did. I’m not sure what I was holding out for. It just seemed so permanent. He didn’t ask to do it either, and it just felt like he was a temporary guest. Walking to the dining room, we went through the buffet line and got breakfast before sitting down. No one was at the head table, so we were able to continue our silent morning. A few members came up to me to say hello, but that was it. Dax waited patiently for me to finish my sausage and eggs before taking out plates back to the kitchen and we headed up to my dad’s office.
CLICK! The sound of a gun being cocked made my whole body stiffen. Turning slowly, I see a man with his hand over Tatina’s mouth and a gun to her head. “Welcome Princess Sarah. I was wondering if you would figured out my message.” I couldn’t believe it. Not only did we not hear him, he got her away from me. He didn’t even have an aura that I could sense. “I’m surprised to see you here, Grant.” I straighten up my back as I tried to show my authority. “Mom?” I tried to mind-link, but it wasn’t going through. The static was too much. My body was vibrating as it kept absorbing all the surrounding energy. I knew it was a matter of time until I blew. But I couldn’t do it quick enough with Dax touching me. Slowly, I stepped away from him. Grant didn’t seem to notice, but Dax kept looking at me, worried. “It wasn’t a hard message to figure out. I was more curious if mommy would let her precious baby out of the palace.” “She has never kept in inside the palace.” “True, but you are no
"Hold on to it, don’t let go.” Nina said. Her eyes were full of tears as she looked at me, begging me to keep her daughter alive. “I’ll never let go.” I said stubbornly as I turned away from her and walked to the window. I had a firm grip on the one thread that was left. The one that was formed when I bit her. I took that moment away from her, but it kept her alive. I hope she forgives me. I betrayed her trust. “She will forgive you.” Nina said from behind me. I didn’t bother to acknowledge her. I knew it was rude of me, but right now, I didn’t give a damn. It took a solid two hours before we heard anything. “Queen Nina?” The doors opened, and the doctor walked through. Nina jumped up and ran to the doctor. “How is she?” “She is barely hanging on. You two can go see her, but that’s it. The next 24 hours will let us know.” He said grimly. We followed the doctor through the doors. Each nurse we passed would look at me like I am eye candy, but as soon as I made eye contact, they
The heat from the sun hit my face full force, causing me to wake up. Damn sun, why isn’t it night time yet? Blinking a few times, I glared at the sun that was barely peaking over the trees. “Come on, princess. Time for bed.” Dax tugged on my arm, coaxing me to climb out of the van. “Is dad back yet?” I asked sleepily. “Yes, he literally just got back as well.” Dax answered as he helped me walk. “We need to go to his office first before bed.” He was both shocked and understood. “You need rest. Any discussion can wait till tomorrow.” Dax stated. “No, now!” I tried to sound more forceful, but I doubt I accomplished it. However, he didn’t try to argue further and helped me to my dad’s office. Knock! Knock! “Come in.” Dad sounded exhausted. Once he saw it was me, he instantly jumped up. “Sarah! How are you?” He rushed over and helped me into a chair. “Sore but fine. We need to discuss something.” “You need rest. We can talk tomorrow.” Dad said, frowning, looking at Dax. “Do
“Hello?” Dax answered it, pretty annoyed. “Hey Daxy! I just wanted to let you know that I am planning a surprise party this we-” “Daisy, why the fuck are you calling me and what number are you calling me from? You know what? It doesn’t matter. Unless you are dying, don’t call me. You can check the bulletin board for events that are happening in the pack for this weekend, as we already have something planned. Feel free not to show up.” CLICK! “What is the planned for this weekend?” I asked, not even hiding me listening in on his conversation. “Just regular pack activities, nothing very special.” Dax’s body stiffened and his vague answer annoyed me. “The weekend is two days away…” I said, leading him. “Well, since today is basically over, it is one day away.” “Okay, fine, but what is it?” I asked. “A backyard bonfire thing. Just a party to lighten the mood for the pack.” It was a complete lie but I chose to let it go. I will see what I can do about figuring it out. “Well, le

Damian POVI watched her perfect ass walk to the bathroom. I had to hide a laugh as her legs were still shaking. I needed a minute. Sitting on the couch, my mind went over the last few hours. I wasn’t sure what happened but when I saw Dax’s ghost, my heart sank. Then he had the little boy but the worst part was that Sarah wasn’t shocked to see him. She knew he was there. She must have talked to him. I tried to keep the doubt from filling me that she would have chose him. “Damian.” A voice I thought I’d never hear again was clear as day.My head instantly shot up. I was in complete disbelief to see Dax standing in front of me. My mouth opened a few times but nothing came out.”Wa-”“The Moon Goddess is allowing me a five minute visit. I came to tell you that she is all yours. She has accepted I died and she loves you with her whole heart. I was never meant to live through this. This was always how it was suppose to work. She saved you as much as you saved her. It’s cruel how things end
Our bodies froze as I pushed the knife in until I felt his blood run down my hand. Twisting the knife counter clockwise at 90 degrees, I made sure he wouldn’t survive the tree days it would take to suck his soul out. “NO!!” Astra yelled out as she watched Grant fall off me, holding the knife. His eyes landed on her as blood seeped from his eyes, nose and mouth. Kicking him away from me, I grabbed my side breathing heavily. “Give it up. You are finished!” Astra’s eyes went straight back as she chanted something before lifting her head up and screamed. Black smoke formed between us as a sort of bird manifested in front of me. It looked like a Raven but beefed up. Maybe more like a dragon but either way, it’s beady red eyes were focused on me. I reacted on instinct as my shield went up right as it shot something white at me. It was like little daggers hitting my shield so hard that it caused me to fall to the ground, under the pressure. The creature didn’t stop it’s attack. T
I had no idea what to do. Running back into the hut, Maverick’s laugher became background noise. Sliding on my knees, I skidded to a stop, right in front of my mom. Her body was cold as ice. “MOM!” I yelled. Shaking her, she did not respond. I didn’t even think before pulling my hand back and slapping her arm across the face. Nothing. She didn’t move or even flinch as my hand made contact with her body. I looked frantically around, for anything to help. My eyes landed on Dax’s name. Glancing over quickly at Astra, she was still saying an chant. As quietly as I could, I tiptoed my way over to the shelf and uncorked Dax’s vial with shaking hands. The smoke shot out of it. Before it knew it, a ghostly figure that reselmed Dax stood in front of me. “You have to stop her!” Dax looked at me with urgency. “How? What do I do?” My heart ached for him. “I could knock the cauldron over but she could just pick it back up again!” “You can do this. You need to think. Your mother and you joined
Everything had darken as it looked like not a single ray of sun was hitting these trees. Cages of monkeys were hanging from the branches just above my head. They were thrashing around with a crazed look in their eyes. My heart kept breaking as we slowly walked deeper into the heinous environment. Baskets lined the path with a variety of items. Some where of insects and some where of different spices or herbs. The smell is what caused me the most discomfort. Rotten flesh or decaying fecal matter is so potent that I not even sure it will come out of these clothes. As the path opened up, there was three huts in a half circle at the end of the path. A firepit at in the middle with a cauldron resting on top of it. Purple smoke was going straight up through a small opening in the trees, creating a dome shape in the canopy. “Let’s continue the tour, shall we?” Maverick gestured to the first hut on the left. Glancing behind me, the trees had closed around the path we just took as it was no
Staying on my hands and knees, I slowly waved my arm out as I scooted forward. That stupid chair should be here, somewhere. Finally, my fingers grazed passed the cold metal as the boat shifted to the left. My stomach did a little twist that raised all the hairs on my body. I better not get sea sick in here! Picturing what the chair looked like, it would be easy to just melt the metal into one solid rod that I could sculpt. It was hard doing this in the dark but I was able to heat the metal up enough that the chair was now bent in a little cube. It was slow work for sure but using on hand, I was able to squeeze it together and pull out until it was shaped like a spear. While the metal was still hot, I extended my fingernail and started putting in grooves in a spiral down the rod so it looked like one giant drill bit. Unfortunately, I had to wait for it to cool before I could see if it was even going to work. With my other hand on the wall, I moved it around until I felt the crack of
“What is that?” Tom whispered quietly as he got close to examine the bite mark. “A vampire bite.” I said, casually. All three men and two wolves turned their head to look at me. “W-what?” Tom and Maverick asked at the same time. “She wouldn’t tell us what we wanted to know so we got…creative.” I shrugged. “By turning her into a vampire?” Tom asked. “One one vampire’s bite can make a change like this…” Maverick trailed off. “Winner winner, chicken dinner.” “You-you intentionally turned her into a vampire?” Tom asked, appalled. “Technically, no. Von is newly immortal and most not understand self control but my heart isn’t breaking for that bitch. I’ll kill her before her transformation is complete.” “Fucking ice princess….” Tom said as he pulled her shirt back down. “I’ll go get the food.” Maverick muttered as he walked into town. “Why ice princess?” I laughed as I walked to a tree and sat down. “You are literally choosing to be here. You could easily go invade her comp
“Shit!” Cynthia whispered as she pulled me to the floor. Should have known there was a security system. “Oh bummer…” I obviously faked concern. “What does Damian even see if you?” Cynthia said through clinched teeth. “Not much to look at and you have a mouth that gets you into trouble.” “Not sure what to tell you.” I smirked as the front door opened. “WHO’S IN HERE?” A voice boomed. The smell was human and as I peaked out from behind the clothes, he wasn’t going to chase us very far. Apparently, Cynthia made the same observation. As the police officer walked in, we made our way to the front. Sprinting quickly, we ran out the front door. “HEY! GET BACK HERE!” He bellowed. His breathing was already heavy as he exited the door. We were already in the woods and in a full sprint by the time he even hit the grass. “Burg… (deep breath) i-in progress… (deep breath) send-send help…” is all we heard. We were far enough that his voice became a whisper to us, but we kept running in case a d
“Not sure how to make that much clearer for you!” Cynthia looked at me with hate-filled eyes. It was all I could do to stare back. She had to find a human to sacrifice to prove her loyalty to Astra? Well shit. We weren’t going to fully break her. I doubt any amount of torturing will make her give us what we want. Maybe we can use this to our advantage? Von was looking at me, waiting for the go ahead, and Cynthia had put her head down as her breathing leveled out. “What are you thinking?” Damian mind-linked me. “She isn’t going to break. We are going about this wrong. It would be the same if I commanded you to not speak. You wouldn’t be physically able to say anything to whomever.” “Hmm.” “We need to change tactics. Let her think she is giving us bad information and use her to take us to them. We can’t wait for the eclipse. That’s too long if they have already cut mom and dad with the knife. Just follow my lead.” I said to Damian. I really hope this works. “What if I told you
