Elise fell asleep with the Book of Gates in her hands.

Kent stirred from his sleep and woke up because of a bad dream. In his dream, he saw around five serpents that crawled so fast to strike Elise from behind. She was calling for his help. He tried to intervene by cutting them with his invisible sword. However, they were as hard like diamonds that even his powerful invisible sword could not even scratch them. He was also running for his life when the serpents turned to him and one of them was about to strike him in his back… that was when he woke up.

He sat up, put his hands on his face and stood up.

Diana stirred and saw Kent looking down at Elise lovingly and with deep concern.

The first time she saw him, or noticed him rather, was when she caught him looking at Elise that way while they were on the field, rehearsing a new routine. Eric was so busy in practicing his tackle while Kent just stood there, as if mesmerized while staring at E

Elise was busy avoiding the spells of Priestess Nehes cast on her. She threw back spells against the enemy priestess now and then as well but the priestess had some kind of a shield that she did not even blink an eye to avoid any of her spells.Sparks of greens, blues, blacks, reds, yellows and oranges exploded everytime they blocked each other’s magic. Whooshes and crackles in the air could be heard as well, mixed with the clangs, groans, grunts and yells from the soldiers. The desert sand was now soaked with red liquid that the Egyptians shed.****Diana grinned at Priestess Nofretete as a sign of greeting. She blocked the priestess’ spells cast on her, and she summoned her cudgels again. The witch priestess’ eyes widened in agitation.“You must have some trauma with my cudgels, witch priestess,” Diana mocked amidst the noise of the battle that was going on.Priestess Nofretete scre

The other witch priestesses and the sorcerer priest felt the loss of Priestess Ahotep. Meru, too, felt it. They were immobilized for a second before they could move again. The griffins continued to attack the army of the Scorpion King. Kent looked up at the flying huge beasts. He turned to the remaining serpopard. Later, he would find a way to get those griffins, after he finished off this ground beast. He jumped on the soldiers’ shoulders that were busy fighting, as if they were a bridge for him to get to the serpopard, which was then ready to eat another handful of soldiers. He rushed to get onto its back. But the serpopard saw him and avoided him. Its head was now dangerously turned toward him and he was looking eye to eye with the beast. It howled before it pounced on him.Kent sprinted so fast like he was in one of his games in football and got around to the other side of the serpopard. He ran around it in circles that the serpopard’s neck twist

The armies seemed not drained after their strengths were used up on full power of more than half a day battle without food or water. It was amazing that they could go on like that for so long. And it only meant one thing. They were driven by each of their dream that was only one goal—to win.Zadi watched the two kings who faced each other as if they were talking only with their minds. The expression of their faces was like of that a warrior who was ready to slay his enemy.“It is like the two kings are not fighting with their hands and body but with their minds,” she commented rather more to herself. The high priestess heard her, and she too turned to look at the two kings who stood face to face. They had been like that for a long time. She gave Zadi a toothless smile but with sad eyes. “The king did not wish more bloodshed but he knew that it would be inevitable with the Cobra King’s attitude.”“You are right. He

He was a happy child most of the time. Only that, whenever his father went to battles, he wanted to come with him and fight for him.He was taught by the best General of the Army his father could ever had. He became a good fighter himself. With that, his father, the king was so proud of him and taught him more lessons about life, battle, family and good virtues. For his father, loyalty and love were the most important things that a king should have. Loyalty of his men and also their love for him. Also, loyalty of his family and their love for him. And he shall return these with loyalty and love for them as well. These were the things that his father taught him.King Hor-Aha was a king and a warrior at the same time, and thus, his enemies cal

“Hey, shrieking priestess!” Diana called out. She was bored at throwing spells at each other that didn’t yield anything but a few scratches here and there, nothing mortal. The witch priestess stopped and looked at her with suspicious eyes.“I’m bored with this stuff. You know something more interesting than casting spells?” Diana added. The witch priestess still eyed her suspiciously. Maybe this young foreigner witch priestess would set a trap for her, she thought.“Hey, are you listening?” Diana’s voice grew louder.“Yes!” the priestess answered through gritted teeth.“Good!”“And what do you want, young foreigner witch priestess? Surely, you are up to no good for me.”Diana grinned. “You’re so silly! I’m just having a friendly conversation. And perhaps we can have a friendly battle without hurting each other.”

Kent turned around again to face the Nubians who seemed to be coming more and more in number. He ran toward them with his sword and slashed everyone in his way. He also used his martial arts skills to bring down some of the enemies to the ground either unconscious or lifeless. His eyes were fierce as his body naturally assumed a fighting stance.“You guys are boring me to death now!” He spat on the ground and burnt his enemies with his magical fire.****Eric followed the sorcerer priest who ran around the battlefield—so fast. They moved sprightly that it seemed no one could see them anywhere. He finally grabbed a hold of the sorcerer priest’s loincloth. They stopped just a short distance from the two kings who were fighting against each other; both were already bruised and bloodied in their face, thighs and arms.“Stop… running… around!” He punched the sorcerer priest thrice ri

Meru recalled his mother looked so beautiful when he was young. She was so caring to him. There were times that she was the one who would tend to his wounds from battles if he did not go to Priestess Nehes first. His mother however warned him that he could not marry the priestess ever.“You are not meant to be with each other, Meru. She has her duties to the king and the temple,” his mother reminded him.“I know that, Mother. For now, I am contented to be with her just like this.” That was his answer to his beloved mother, though his heart was heavy due to this fact.He recalled some time later that she looked depressed and gloomy. And not long afterward, she was gone to the underworld. He and his father did not know what went wrong or for what reason she killed herself. They presumed then that she did not want to have a husband for a general and a son for a warrior, which gave her sorrow and depression whenever they went to a battle. And

“Happy birthday, Elise!” Kent kissed her soft cheek as he handed her the birthday gift. They were at Menominee’s Hut. The fast food was purposely closed for this special occasion. Elise was so happy for this birthday surprise her parents gave her. She didn’t expect this party at all.“Thank you, Kent.” She smiled prettily at him as she accepted his gift. “Yes, elite seer,” Nefer replied straightforwardly. “But the time and place will depend on your fate. You will see visions beforehand. As I believe, you saw visions before coming here, correct?”Elise nodded at the correctness of the high priestess. “Yes… I saw visions, images. I saw the double crown of the king he’s wearing now. I saw his face, the totem of scorpion and several others. I never thought they would all come into reality. I thought I was just… stressed out—tired due to my studies, you know?”“I understand, elite seer.”“So… May I ask why exactly it has to be me?” Elise questioned almost desperately as she pointed at herself.“That question, elite seer—I just found out the reason recently.” Nefer paused and sighed before she continued. “You are my distant relative.”Zadi stared at the high priestess in sur

My life has no meaning without my beloved ones—my mother, the king… and Priestess Nehes.”The Medjay looked at him with pity in his eyes for his longtime enemy.
