The storm rolled in without warning.

Wind tore through the treetops, shaking leaves loose in swirls of gold and ash. Theoden moved first, sharp and alert, eyes scanning the shadows. Selene followed close behind, her power humming faintly beneath her skin like a warning drumbeat. Luka and Darius flanked their sides, silent but tense.

They’d followed the symbol north, deeper into the forgotten wilds, tracking the faint echoes of Cassiel’s power. But something else had found them first.

Theoden stopped suddenly, his hand raised.

They weren’t alone.

Figures emerged from the forest—six of them. All tall, cloaked in deep black, their presence wrong. Ancient. The smell of old magic rolled from them in waves. Their eyes glowed white—not with life, but with memory. Memory of a time before rules, before balance.

Elders.

Theoden snarled. “Run.”

But it was already too late.

They moved like lightning.

One Elder struck Luka first, sending him crashing into a tree with a sickening crack.

Selene sat up slowly, glancing toward the trees. “Luka. Darius.” Theoden helped her to her feet. “They’re alive.” They stumbled to where the two warriors lay groaning, bruised but breathing. Selene helped Luka sit up while Theoden steadied Darius. “You two,” Luka muttered, voice gravelly and full of pain, “are something else.” Theoden turned to face the north again, jaw set and steady. “No more hiding,” he said. “Cassiel’s out there. We find him. We end this.” Selene nodded, fire burning behind her eyes. Together, they pressed on. — The next two hours were grueling. Every step deeper into the forest felt heavier, the air thick with old magic. The trees grew twisted and strange the farther they went. The bark of one oak pulsed faintly with a reddish sheen, and the moss beneath their boots whispered when disturbed. Nova stirred uneasily in Selene’s mind. “This place remembers things it shouldn’t.” Selene didn’t answer aloud. She didn’t need to. She felt it too—like they wer

The door creaked open with the sound of old stone grating against itself. Cool air drifted from the passageway beyond, carrying the scent of earth and something older—ancient magic, soft and still. Selene stepped through first, Theoden close behind her. Their hands brushed, fingers tangling briefly. She felt the comfort of his warmth and let it ground her. At the end of the corridor, a figure stood waiting. He looked nothing like the Elders who had attacked them. His robes were worn, soft gray with no sigils or symbols. His hair was white, but not from age—it shimmered like moonlight. His eyes were a gentle gold, and they crinkled warmly when he smiled. “Selene,” he said, as if greeting an old friend. “Theoden.” The sound of their names on his lips struck something deep inside them. Selene blinked. “Cassiel.” He nodded. And just like that—everything settled. The tension in Theoden’s shoulders melted. Selene felt Nova exhale in her mind. “He’s safe,” Nova murmured. I remember

Theoden ran like something was chasing him. Selene was right behind him, their feet pounding against the earth as branches whipped past, hearts racing faster than they could think. Luka’s broken voice still echoing in Theoden’s mind. “—can’t… move… Darius—close—too close—“ No directions. No context. Just panic. The clearing came into view seconds later. Luka and Darius lay on the ground, sprawled out and still. Too still. Selene skidded to her knees beside Luka. His skin was pale. His chest barely moved. Theoden dropped beside Darius, pressed two fingers to his neck, then his chest. “No pulse,” he said through gritted teeth. “Barely a breath.” Selene reached for Luka’s wrist. Nothing. “Oh no—no no no.” They didn’t think. They moved. Selene positioned her hands over Luka’s sternum and began chest compressions. “Come on, come on,” she whispered, counting under her breath. The morning was cold. Selene stood at the front line, the edge of the forest dark and quiet before her. Beside her, Theoden exhaled slowly, his blue eyes locked on the horizon. Luka and Darius flanked them, armed and ready, though neither spoke. They had insisted on taking the lead. Many argued they should wait behind the lines, be the last defense if everything else failed. But Selene and Theoden knew better. If their power was what the Elders feared—then it had to be the first thing those Elders saw. The silence didn’t last long. He arrived without warning. Willow had always loved the forest. The way the wind moved through the trees, rustling the leaves with soft whispers. The way the scent of pine and damp earth curled around her, grounding her in something older than time itself. She had grown up in a good pack. Strong. Stable. Loyal. But it had never felt like home. Not truly. She didn’t know why. She couldn’t explain it. She was happy. She was safe. But somewhere deep inside her, something was missing. A piece of herself that had never quite fit. And then she met him.The first time Willow saw Theo, she felt it.A pull so strong, so sudden, she had nearly stumbled. It had been a routine pack meeting. A diplomatic visit from the Onyx Pack to discuss border agreements. She had been standing with her father, listening half-heartedly to the discussion, when he arrived. Theo stepped into the room like he owned the ground beneath his feet. Tall, powerful, every inch the Alpha he was born to be. But it wasn’t his strength that caught her b

  • Eclipsed Wolves   Chapter 1—The Calm Before the Storm

The Montana wilderness stretched endlessly in every direction, a vast expanse of towering pines and tangled underbrush. Sunlight filtered through the dense canopy, casting shifting patterns on the forest floor. The crisp morning air carried the scent of damp earth, pine, and the faint, familiar musk of her pack. Willow inhaled deeply, letting the scent ground her. She wasn’t just human. She wasn’t just a wolf. She was both. Werewolves weren’t two separate beings forced into one body. They were a single soul—half human, half wolf, one whole entity. The human side had thoughts, emotions, memories, and logic. The wolf carried instincts, power, and magic. The magic belonged only to the wolf. A human without their wolf was just that—human. They could not heal faster, they could not shift, they could not feel the presence of the pack through the bond that tied them together. But when the wolf lent its magic, the body became stronger, faster. Wounds closed quickly, bones knit back toget

Willow walked through the village with purpose, her steps steady, her posture unshaken. To anyone watching, she looked strong—calm, even. Just another day as Luna, overseeing the pack, ensuring everything was in order. But inside, her mind was in turmoil. The rogue attack wasn’t sitting right. Rogues didn’t just attack like that—not in numbers, not with coordination. And they certainly didn’t retreat after delivering a message. “They knew my name,” she reminded Nova, as if she hadn’t replayed those words a hundred times already. Nova was silent for a moment before murmuring, “I know.” Willow exhaled slowly, schooling her features as she passed a group of pack members tending to repairs near the training grounds. A few of the warriors nodded respectfully. Others gave her a reassuring glance, as if they were the ones trying to keep her from worrying. She managed a small smile in return before continuing on. “You’re overthinking,” Nova said. “We don’t know enough yet to start spir

  • Eclipsed Wolves   Chapter 39—The Search Begins

The morning air was cool and still, the mist clinging low to the forest floor. Selene stood barefoot just outside the cabin, arms wrapped around herself as she watched the first golden rays of sun filter through the trees. The world felt quiet—not the silence of peace, but the kind that came before something inevitable. Like the wind holding its breath. Behind her, the door creaked open. Theoden stepped out, shirt half-buttoned, hair damp from a quick rinse. He carried two mugs of coffee, one of which he offered wordlessly. She took it with a faint smile. “Thank you.” They stood together in silence for a long while, shoulders brushing, warmth from their mugs curling into the cool air. Finally, Theoden broke the stillness. “You ready for this?” Selene didn’t answer right away. Her fingers tightened slightly around the mug. “No. But we don’t have the luxury of waiting.” He nodded, his jaw tight. “Then we begin.” — By midday, Darius and Luka had joined them in the cabin, maps an

Theoden didn’t speak at first. He just stared at her, chest rising and falling in uneven breaths, as if afraid the vision of Selene sitting upright would fade if he blinked. Selene’s brow furrowed. “Theoden?” At the sound of her voice, he exhaled shakily and sank down onto the bed beside her. His hand found hers immediately, gripping it tightly—too tightly—but she didn’t pull away. She felt the tremble in his fingers, the tension in his shoulders. His eyes were shining. “I thought you were gone,” he said softly. Her lips parted, but he shook his head. “You’ve been asleep for almost a week, Selene. You wouldn’t wake up. No matter what I tried.” He drew in a ragged breath. “The doctors… they treated your wounds, but they weren’t healing. They were getting worse.” Selene’s chest tightened. “But I feel fine.” He gave her a look that was almost broken. A look that brought tears to her eyes. “You weren’t. Your breathing was getting shallower by the hour. You were slipping away, and

The hall burned. Stone walls that had once echoed with music and laughter now trembled beneath the roar of fire. The floor was slick with blood and ash. Screams echoed in the distance—wolves, warriors, mothers, children. But none of them reached her ears fully. Everything sounded muted. Hollow. Like the air had been sucked from the world. Selene stood in the center of the crumbling hall, her breath coming in shallow gasps. Her dress was torn, her arms streaked with soot and blood—none of it her own. Around her, the air shimmered with heat and something more. A pulse of ancient magic that vibrated in her bones. And in front of her—he stood. Aylexelen. He was not the cloaked shadow she had seen in the forest. He was younger here, though not youthful. Regal, commanding, dressed in deep indigo robes trimmed with silver. His expression was calm. Too calm. Unbothered, even as bodies fell around them. And at his feet, Theoden lay. Deathly still. His blood pooling around him. Selene’
