SHARON

As I watched my boss grasp Mr. Stanford's hand, pulling him away, a lump formed in my throat.

It was only the second time I’d seen him, yet my heart wouldn't stop racing. I sighed, feeling an unfamiliar sadness. I’d never been one to care about love or attachment, so finding myself drawn to someone like this felt surreal.

If only I could have a taste of him, just once. But he was forbidden. Not only that, he was one of the rare men who barely spared me a glance, his eyes always fixed on his wife.

Still, I couldn’t completely let go of the hope. Maybe one day they would part ways. Maybe fate would give me a chance to make him mine, even if just for a fleeting moment.

The sound of Britney retching jolted me from my thoughts. Turning, I saw her vomiting on the floor.

Annoyed, I snapped, kicking her in the stomach, “You pig! Why are you messing the floor when you know you cannot clean it?"

Leaving her behind, I headed to Tony’s room. After a thorough search, I found h

SHARON After leaving my lawyer friend, I returned home, heart pounding with anticipation. I quickly went up to Tony's bedroom, where I had carefully hidden his phone earlier. With a deep breath, I entered the account password he had given me, my fingers steady as I gained the access I needed.Without hesitation, I transferred every last dollar from his account into mine, and in a matter of seconds, I was the owner of over a hundred million dollars. I let out a small laugh, the thrill rushing through me."It's time to splurge!" I announced to the empty room. Grabbing my card, I headed out of the house, my mind already racing with plans for the day.I'd once promised myself that if I ever made a fortune, I would indulge in a shopping spree like no other, diving into every luxury I had ever craved, if only for a short while. Today was that day.As I made my way through the upscale boutiques, I briefly thought about my brother. I wished he could be here, enjoying this windfall with me. B

SHARONJust as Britney got close enough to strike, I swiftly kicked her hand, sending the knife clattering to the floor. She tried to punch me, but I sidestepped with ease, spinning around to deliver a powerful kick to her back. She stumbled forward, her body crashing down, and I watched with a smirk as she fell flat on her face, quite literally. As she groaned in pain, clutching her nose, I calmly crouched beside her, picking up the knife with a bemused expression. I shook my head, clicking my tongue in mock disappointment. “Tsk, tsk, tsk. What a fool you are, Britney.”Her glare was fierce, but I could see the panic flickering in her eyes. She was realizing how thoroughly she had underestimated me.“Did you really think I would be careless enough to leave a weapon within your reach if I didn’t have a plan of my own? After your first mistake, I’d hoped you would have learned. But then you made a second error by attacking me instead of running for the door. Not that you would have go

SHARON "She definitely can't," I replied. "Although, she did yell that she was going to kill me before her voice finally gave out." "Good for her. So, what's the progress with Tony?" she inquired. I smiled. "Well, I've successfully transferred all the money in his account into mine. It's quite a large sum—over a hundred million dollars. That's way more than what you're paying me. Are you sure you want me to keep all of it?" "Why? Don't you want it?" she retorted. I chuckled, my heart racing at the thought of losing all that money. "Saying I want this money is an understatement, ma'am. I just wanted to make sure you're aware of everything, so there wouldn't be any surprises for you down the line." "It's fine," she replied smoothly. "I've already recovered the company funds he stashed in his offshore accounts. The money you have is nothing to me. Besides, you've earned it after working so hard." "Thank you, thank you so much, ma'am," I gushed, my excitement palpable. Part of me h

MARIANNE Troy and I had just enjoyed a lighthearted evening bowling, something I hadn’t done in years. Being with him brought out a playful side of me, a side I almost forgot existed. But as soon as Sharon called, her voice tight with urgency, telling me about Britney, my mood shifted. Without hesitation, I made a few calls and ensured her arrest. Though part of me wanted to witness her arrest firsthand, I was occupied with more important matters. Still, knowing the entire event was captured on CCTV and that I’d have access to watch it later gave me satisfaction. I planned to savor the moment from the comfort of my home, relishing the image of Britney in handcuffs. I could hardly wait for the changes the coming week would bring. Tony and Britney were finally about to face the consequences they deserved. The company funds that Tony had secretly siphoned into hidden accounts were back where they belonged, thanks to me. Sharon had drained his remaining assets, leaving him in the exa

MARIANNE I folded my arms tightly across my chest, feeling the tension coil inside me as I stared incredulously at the woman standing before me. This woman who, impossibly, was supposed to be dead. Yet here she was, brazen and unapologetic, claiming the life I’d carefully built. My fists clenched instinctively. "Take back what is yours?" I echoed, my voice laced with bitterness. "You talk about Troy like he’s some possession. You do realize he's my husband, right?" She let out a mocking scoff, rolling her eyes. "Husband? Oh, come on. We both know your so-called marriage is nothing but a farce. Troy told me all about it." I felt my stomach tighten. "Troy told you about it?" I asked, struggling to keep the quiver from my voice. "Yes," she replied smoothly, a smug smile creeping across her face. "He told me everything. He said it was only temporary—that once things settled, he’d be back with me where he belongs. You know your place, don’t you? Wearing my face, living with my man… n

MARIANNE "Shut the hell up," Troy yelled. He gripped Aislinn's hand, his jaw clenched as he began dragging her towards the door, ready to throw her out. She fought back, her pleas piercing through the air, "Stop, baby! Please, just listen!" "Enough! Enough!" I screamed, my voice breaking as it cut through their heated exchange. "Enough of this drama, Troy and Aislinn." Troy froze, his hand dropping from hers as he turned to face me, his eyes searching mine, pleading. "Listen, Cherie..." "Don’t call me that," I shot back, my voice colder than I’d intended. "This was a mistake from the very beginning." "No, Aislinn, listen—" "I am not Aislinn!" I yelled, the words ripped from me in a torrent of frustration and hurt. "My name is Marianne. There, that is Aislinn, that is your Aislinn, Troy." He looked taken aback, his face a mix of regret and confusion. "Listen to me," he said softly. "I understand what you're thinking right now, okay? But just calm down and listen to what

TROY I felt a tremor of shock ripple through me at what unfolded before my eyes. The turn of events was staggering, like a tidal wave crashing over my heart. When I first heard a female voice call out to me while I was still in the kitchen, I knew something was wrong. The person certainly didn't sound like Marianne. It was clear now—Aislinn was doing everything possible to provoke Marianne, to disrupt the fragile peace I’d worked so hard to establish. I just wished, more than anything, that Marianne would calm down, take a breath, and allow me a chance to speak. But she was stubborn, fiercely so, and that stubbornness was as much a part of her as the pulse in her veins. I loved her for it, yet sometimes, it drove a wedge between us. I tried to explain, tried to reach her through the wall she’d put up, but it was like trying to catch the wind. Watching her walk away felt like watching my world shatter, as if each step she took was ripping something vital from me. It was like a

TROY As the days dragged on painfully, I remained rooted at Marianne's apartment, unwilling to leave, despite her absence. I kept hoping she would return, but day after day passed—one, two, three days, then four—and still, there was no sign of her. The empty silence grew louder with each passing moment, filling me with a gnawing emptiness. My mind was clouded with fear, frustration, and an ache that wouldn’t let me rest. I searched for her tirelessly, refusing to give up. I went to her company every morning, visited the police station, and scoured every place I thought she might be. I was haunted by her absence, by the need to see her, to know she was safe. And with each fruitless attempt, the weight of despair only grew heavier, crushing my resolve bit by bit. Still, there was no sign of her. My phone chimed occasionally, and each time, my heart would leap with a flicker of hope—only to realize it was another call or message from Aislinn, whose persistence grated on my last ner

Alva stepped back abruptly, her breath catching in her throat as she stared at Jonas, unable to believe her eyes. The world around her seemed to blur, and all she could focus on was him, standing there with that familiar look in his eyes....an expression she had tried to forget but couldn’t. "Jonas..." she whispered, her voice barely audible over the sound of her racing heartbeat. Jonas gave her a small, apologetic smile. "Yes, it's me." His voice was warm, yet there was a hint of hesitation. "I’m sorry you haven't heard from me in a while. I thought you needed time to adjust to everything in your new environment. And, honestly, it’s been difficult not talking to you." She blinked, struggling to process his words. "So you followed me all the way here?" Her tone was accusatory, but the fluttering in her chest betrayed her annoyance. Jonas chuckled softly, the sound rich and soothing. "No, not exactly. If I’d known you were in Denmark, I would have been more prepared. This is a surp

Then, with a sudden burst of confidence, she strode across her room and twirled around. “Perfect!” she declared to the empty space. “Goodbye, crutches. Hello, independence!” Vidar, walking by her room, poked his head in. “Did you just say goodbye to inanimate objects? Should I be concerned?” Alva grinned. “Laugh all you want, Vidar. You don’t know what it’s like to walk with crutches or limp around.” “True,” Vidar agreed, leaning against the doorframe. “But you’re walking fine now, so no slacking for you, especially during this workshop. You’ll be networking like a pro.” “Networking?” Alva groaned. “Why does that sound like a punishment?” Vidar smirked. “Because it is. But you’ll survive. I’ll make sure of it.” At this time, Thea was pacing her room, muttering under her breath. “If Alva hadn’t come along, I would’ve been the one going on this trip with Vidar,” her voice dripped with resentment as s

Freya sat nervously in the corner of the small eatery. Her hands were clenched tightly in her lap. The place was warm and simple, with soft chatter and the clinking of plates filling the room. Across from her, Jonas leaned back in his chair, watching her closely. His gaze was sharp but didn’t feel mean. “Relax, Freya,” Jonas said, a small smile on his face. “You look like I called you here to yell at you.” Freya shifted in her seat, trying to smile back. “It’s not that… I just don’t know why you wanted to meet.” “Let’s start with dinner,” he said, pointing at the menu in front of them. Freya shook her head quickly. “I already ate. I’m not hungry.” Jonas raised an eyebrow but didn’t argue. He set the menu aside and leaned forward, his face turning serious. “Alright, let’s get to the point. Freya, I was angry with you before. Because of what you did, I kept misunderstanding Alva, and things between us got bad.” Freya’s stomach twisted with guilt. She opened her mouth to apol

I’m so proud of you!” “Thank you,” Alva replied, squeezing her friend’s hand. “And when the time comes, you can come work with me in the company. We’ll run it together.” Freya’s lip quivered, and she blinked rapidly, trying to keep her tears in check. “Alva, you’re the best friend anyone could ask for. No, scratch that—you’re the best human being alive.” Alva giggled. “Don’t cry, Freya. Save the waterworks for the CEO inauguration.” “I can’t help it!” Freya wailed dramatically before pulling Alva into a bone-crushing hug. “I’m the luckiest person in the world to have you.” As Freya finally released her, she wiped her cheeks with the back of her hand, smiling brightly. “So… can I come on this fancy business trip too? I’ll hide in your suitcase.” Alva shook her head, laughing. “No can do.” “Why not?

Thea’s fists clenched so tightly her knuckles turned white. Her teeth ground against each other as she watched Alva bask in the warmth of everyone’s affection. The realization hit her like a slap to the face—Alva had planned this. She had the evidence all along and had played the helpless victim, crying her way into everyone’s hearts. And Thea? Thea had walked right into her trap. Her head began to spin as her mind screamed, 'I was outsmarted by her?' “How could I be so foolish?” Thea muttered under her breath, her voice so low only she could hear it. Karina’s voice snapped Thea out of her angry thoughts. “I will think of a befitting punishment for what you’ve done,” Karina said, her gaze icy as she looked down at her daughter sprawled on the floor, still feigning remorse. “Mom, I didn’t....” “You’re grounded for a month, for now, until I think of a much better punishment,” Karina declared firmly, cutting off Thea’s weak protest. Thea’s mouth dropped open. Grounded? She

Alva’s hands trembled as tears streamed down her cheeks, her voice barely audible. “Why does this always happen to me?” she whispered, clutching her chest as though trying to hold her breaking heart together. Vidar stepped closer, his voice steady yet soothing. “Don’t cry, Alva. Everyone makes mistakes. What matters here is that the jewelry is yours, and you have every right to take it whenever you want.” Her mother, Karina, nodded firmly, moving to stand beside Vidar. “He’s right, Alva. What’s mine is yours. You’re my daughter—feel free to take anything you need, anytime.” Karina’s voice held a protective tone, though her furrowed brows betrayed her inner conflict. Alva glanced at her mother, her lips quivering. “But I didn’t even know the jewelry existed until now.” Before Karina could respond, Nikolai interjected, his jaw tight with anger. “Alva didn’t put that jewelry there. Someone else did this, and I won’t spare them.” Vidar placed a firm hand on Nikolai’s shoulde

Alva is my sister, and I just wanted to make sure she’s on the right path.” Alva softened her gaze. She stepped forward, her voice calm yet firm. “You’re right, Thea. Maybe you’re only doing this because you care.” The room fell silent, everyone staring at Alva as she faced Thea directly. “If you think this is your way of helping me, then I’ll prove to you that I don’t need saving,” Alva said gently. “What would it take for you to believe that I didn’t take the jewelry?” Thea hesitated, her lips twitching as if she was weighing her next words. Thea turned to the others, her voice softening, as if she were pleading for their understanding. “Even if Alva wanted the jewelry, that wouldn’t have been a bad thing. Mom was already planning to give it to her. But stealing it? That’s what hurts. Seeing my sister hurt my mother is unbearable. We all know Alva didn't grow up with us.
