CHAPTER 6 - THE SECRET ALLESSANDRO KEEPS

BIANCA'S POV

The next day arrived with a heavy sense of dread. I was in my personal space, which was different from my atelier and my office where Darren, my assistant and best friend, worked. I didn’t want Darren to see Matteo because they would surely have a brawl if they crossed paths.

I was unable to get rid of the unease I felt while I waited for Matteo’s arrival. I was curious. Why did he suddenly want to speak with me? Why did he sound so... unusual?

The silence in the room was broken by the sound of the doorbell. I paused for a moment, feeling my heart race, before walking downstairs to open the door. Taking a deep breath, I faced Matteo, who stood there with a piercing gaze as he looked at me.

"Bianca," he said in a low, husky tone. "Can I come in?"

I moved to the side so he could come in, his aura taking up the space in the room. As we settled into the living room, I couldn't ignore the tension that hung in the air.
