ALARIC’S POV

When I had informed her of us going skating, her eyes lit up in delight. But now that we were standing here with skates strapped beneath our feet, I was starting to rethink that decision.

Even with the knee pads, ankle pads and helmets, my heart was still pounding so fast. I have never skated, and the multiple online videos I watched all night did nothing to help.

“Are you ready?” I asked, a part of me hoping she would chicken out and insist on leaving so I wouldn't be the sacred one. But instead, she nodded.

I watched her get onto the ice, pulling me with her, and my heart started to race. Never had it occurred to me that I could be scared of ice.

It's just ice. I have gone through so much more, so something like this shouldn't break me.

A bead of sweat broke behind my neck. As much as I wanted to tell her how I felt, she was smiling brightly and without worries. I didn't want to ruin that.

I watched her move one foot, then another gently, and I followed suit, but my

His other hand was grabbing my hair.“You look pretty when you are wet. ISABELLA’S POVHave you ever felt lighter when you are with a particular person? When they effortlessly make you smile, your once-dimmed sparks start to shine again when they seem to know the right thing to say and do at the right time, as though your souls are one. The sun's reflection danced across the room, and I pulled my heavy eyes with a yawn. My body felt so sore, yet a part of me felt fulfilled. My grey eyes met with his warm blue eyes that lit up when he sent me a smile. His hair was rough from last night, and he had nothing on but a pair of white condom boxers. My eyes trailed over the size of his cock and how huge it was.“It’s a size 7. Good morning, wife.” His voice sliced through the silent air, and I bit my lower lip in embarrassment at being caught. He leaned in to gently kiss my lips, then whispered. “Last night was incredible.”I nodded, more shyness seeping in. I was naked, too, under this sheet, and somehow, seeing him looking this hot triggered the horny bitch i

ISABELLA’S POVTwo days had passed since he broke the news to me, and finally, we were moving. Two logistics trunks were outside with ten workers waiting, but I knew I had to pick out my stuff myself. I wouldn't want to lose anything or take with me something I didn't find valuable. I knew I had just a few things here due to the constant sleepovers.I was rummaging through the bathroom, packing my hair products when one of them fell and rolled to a corner. I let out a sigh, bent to take it, and instantly saw the slightly open drawer. Something blue was sitting in it. Out of curiosity, I pulled it open to see a nylon of blue pills. My heart skipped a beat. Was Alaric doing drugs? My hand shook out of fear at realising how that could change everything. I knew I had to find out.“Babe, are you done?” I heard him say. I didn't hear him walk in and quickly put it behind my back. My eyes widened as I made eye contact with him. “You good?” I let out a dry laugh. “Definitely. I’m almost do

ISABELLA’S POVI strode around the house, taking in every beautiful art lined up the hallway. Every stroke was detailed; I hummed as a smile graced my lips. We had a few unpacking tasks, and Alaric had left for work, so I had just a few sightseeing tasks before making a dish for us. It would feel so good to cook in this exquisite kitchen. I followed the path that led to the room, visiting each. There were ten rooms, but one was the biggest, which I presumed to be the Main bedroom. Living in a huge house gave me a sense of freedom. My phone vibrated against my jeans pocket, and I pulled it out to stare at the Doctor’s number. The same man who had saved my life the day I got into that accident and lost my baby.Weird how he didn't judge me when I informed him I was now back with Alaric after he noticed the ring on my finger.“If it makes you happy, child.” He had said.I knew he had to be the right one to tell me what drug it was. Luckily, Alaric had an important business to attend to,

ISABELLA’S POVThe drive back home was strangely relaxing, possibly because of my stress. Did I find this fun? Yes. Would I repeat it? No.Alaric’s face also showed fatigue, and all I wanted was to go home to a hot meal and a warm bath.Suddenly, I heard our car screech as a car swerved right in front of us, causing Alaric and me to bounce forward. A black Benz car was now sitting in front of us, unmoving. The owner didn't seem bothered enough to get down. I could feel my heart pounding so fast as the memory of the night I had lost my baby flashed through my mind.“Are you hurt?” Alaric asked, searching my face and body, and I shook my head in response.I watched him grit his teeth before storming out of the car to knock on the window. I don’t know what transfixed, but he stood like that for about a minute or two, and by the time he got back into the car, his expression had changed, and he wasn't saying anything. He drove around the car, whose tinted glasses were wound up, so I could

But deep down, she knew the time was ticking, and she might never be prepared to if she didn't do it now. She had searched through all the rows of dresses in the third shop today but found nothing that fit. Given that Alaric was having his suit checked out wherever he was, she had no one to ask. They had both agreed not to see one another’s outfits before the right time. She had no friends. No one to make this day more special than it was. She would have asked Enzo, but he was a man. ISABELLA’S POVMy ringtone sliced through my sleep, and I grunted, my eyes still closed, as I searched the bed for my phone. Alaric’s arms were still wrapped around me.“Hello,” I said sleepily.“There is a problem, Miss Isabella. All the paintings are missing.” I heard the CEO’s voice penetrate the air, and I sat up in a startle. My heart started racing.“What do you mean, sir?” I asked, my hands shaking.“All the clients called. The paintings they got at the last auction were all stolen. Somehow, someone broke into their homes and went away with them. Three of them who tried to fight back are in the hospital. They are accusing the company of scamming them. You need to figure out what is going on, Isabella.” He sounded annoyed.I gulped down a lump of saliva in shock, and even after the call ended, I was still staring blankly at the space. How? How the hell was that possible? In a second, I dashed from the bed and straight into the restroom. I tried to be as fast as possible, and soo

ALARIC’S POVSomeone was banging on the hospital door, which sounded like my wife’s voice. Fuck! I told her to stay in the car. Guess I should have dropped her home first. My brain was just too clouded by anger to think clearly. Some other voices were audible, too, but I couldn't care less because I wasn't leaving here without the needed information. Either that or I would sue the police for wrongly detaining her.I could see the fear of this man. He looked like he was in his forties, but hell hath no fury like a man in love because he would do anything to protect his wife.“You claim my wife attacked you. I need to see the evidence.” I seethed and watched him clutch onto his bedside.“Being here is enough evidence. What more do you need?” He scorned, and I closed the space between us in a rage, grabbing him by the neck. I heard him choke. I watched him plead. I watched as blood slowly drained from his face. This rage fueled every core of me. I had witnessed my wife at her lowest, sc

ISABELLA’S POVWe walked in, holding hands. They were still sitting around the table. Elena looked up.“Our car is bad. We might have to spend the night, " my husband informed them, and I caught Elena’s face brightening. However, Alaric didn't look happy. He turned to me. “You should have dinner. I have no appetite.” “Me too.”Eating where I wasn't liked wasn't advisable, even if I was hungry. Who knew what end they would go to? A lot of things just seemed too weird. I could sense the competition among them all.“That’s nice. We are all staying over, too.” An older man who looked like he was in his late thirties said, his glass on the brink of his nose. He was dressed in a green shirt and white pants. I didn't know his name.“Alright, uncle. We will head to bed now. We have work tomorrow,” Alaric informed me and then pulled me with him. I could feel his warmth seeping through my skin as we headed upstairs, and soon, he stopped in front of a brown door. “We will stay in this room,”

ISABELLA’S POVI stood there frozen, unable to decide what to do or say. Was I to burst in on them and have her in a cuckold, or was I to wait till they left?I tried holding my breath as though they would hear it. I could hear her moan. Her back against the wall, they looked so engrossed in their act, and they probably weren't stopping anytime soon. Lastly, I wasn't about to watch a full-blown porn movie. A swam of irritation hit me in the stomach, almost throwing me up. This was so disgusting. It felt so wrong. What could ever be the reason to cheat on your husband with his brother? Why?I was thinking of what to do when my phone rang, and I was startled. I pulled it out quickly and turned it off. My body shook, and my lips got dry. I heard them; then he whispered something and footsteps. And somehow, I was glad that it was finally over, so I stepped out, only to see her standing there, her arms wrapped around her waist.“I knew it had to be you. Whatever you plan to do, remember t

ISABELLA’S POVMy heart was racing so fast as we drove into a tall building with a vast compound. This was the second time I was coming to his house, the first time was when I was invited by his father to talk about the marriage. My fingers were trembling. It was like visiting the past and it left a sour taste in my mouth. “We can leave if you don’t want to.” He must have been able to tell.“No, I’m fine. I just can't wait to see them.” I lied and watched him raise his brows but he doesn't ask any questions.Stepping closer, he wrapped his palm around mine, and whispered, “If you ever get a need to leave, then I will get you out of here. I don't like them either so I won’t force you to.” His words felt like pouring a big bowl of ice over my burning nerves because I felt a lot of relief. We walked through the huge white door, laughter echoing through the air. My legs were getting wobbly and I dragged in a deep breathe to calm myself. We were still holding hands. “Mother.” Alaric s

ISABELLA’S POVEven as we sat on the left side of the room, the looming feeling was unshaken. The setting was pretty. From the chandelier hanging low to the large wooden piano sitting in the centre of the room to the pianist clicking away. Including the white fabrics spread on each table and the pretty flowers. The atmosphere smelt so nice and rich. I couldn't tell if it was due to the other guests there or if a particular spray was infused in the air.I watched him signal the waiter, and he walked over. He was dressed in a white shirt and black pants, his black hair neatly trimmed, and a smile on his face.“What would you love to eat, Isabella?” he asked, quickly adding, “Can I call you that?”I hummed in response, too nervous to talk. It widened as my eyes ran over the words on the menu I had picked from the table. Every single meal here was so expensive that even water wasn't spared. It wasn't that I couldn't eat them; I just wondered why he was so nice to me. Noticing their gazes

ISABELLA’S POVI felt my heart swell with pride as I spoke. I was standing in a room with five men looking at me and nodding in agreement. CEO Rex was dressed in a grey suit and black shirt and had a proud expression. He was relaxed in his seat, his fingers stroking his beard. Today was my first day in San Francisco, and I had to catch an early flight to get here, and luckily, it was barely five hours. A car had come to pick me up, too.“I believe doing this will benefit our company because it will strengthen loyalty and help build a relationship with the community. I need you to understand that the world is revolving, and seeing things from young talents’ perspectives might just be what we need to keep us growing. Thank you.” I completed the sentence and watched Rex clap with a smile.Picking the document, I headed back to my seat. My heart started to race. What if they didn't like my idea? Wouldn't that make me look like a fool?“See, I told you she is a very intelligent woman,” Re

THIRD PERSON’S POVAlaric ran his fingers through his hair as he huffed. His anger was brewing, but not at her but himself. Maybe he had overreacted a little. This person was her boss, after all; this was her dream, her line of work, and he might have to accept. But how was he supposed to stand there and watch another man touch his wife?Adjusting his tie, he slammed the car door shut and then stormed after her.“Isa!! Stop!” He ordered, but she didn't budge. She had heard him, but she would be damned to let him have his way. She could feel the volcano in her about to erupt, coupled with the twist deep in her stomach.“Fuck Isa. Do you always have to be so stubborn?” He increased his pace, and so did she. Finally, she sighted the door and stormed in, fiddling with the lock when it was pushed open.“Fuck Isa. Fuck!” He yelled, looking at everything but her. “I am going to have hypertension at this point.” He was breathing heavily and running his fingers through his hair again. “Wha

ISABELLA’S POV“You looked stunning up there tonight.” My husband mumbled against my ears, his hot breath landing on my neck, causing me to bite my lip. “I can't wait to tear every single piece apart.” His voice was low now, and I squeezed my eyes shut as my mind filled with imagination of what he could do to me. My lips parted a little.“Permission to have some fun.” The CEO announced, and the woohs from the people pulled me back into reality. We were now sitting in a corner of the afterparty; the colored light dimmed to create a warm illusion. A song was blaring through the big speakers. Everyone was dancing too.I felt Alaric’s fingers crawl over my thigh, and I stiffened, my eyes meeting his. The warmth from the touch was seeping through my flesh. He smirked as he stretched me a glass of alcohol. “Drink away, wife. It’s your big day, and I am fucking proud of you.” The way he said it was so seductive could be that or the fact that this was my second cup. Something rose in me, an

ISABELLA’S POVIn the blink of an eye, ten days had passed. Days filled with laughter, love, unending compassion, and many dramas. The paintings were retrieved, and my name cleared. I even got an apology from the CEO.I also learnt about Alaric’s love for slow music and his carefree side. Knowing how much sacrifice he would make for me was almost amazing. Alaric was my light on the rough, dark road. He was the only one who truly believed in me and fought for me during those times. Seeing how love could really change someone like Alaric into who he was now was remarkable. But I didn't blame him for how he became; his father was nothing but a monster, and he had grown up believing he had to be that way, too. My heart ached terribly as I stood in line, a ticket in hand and my suitcase in another. Alaric had left to attend to some work emergency. A dark cloud loomed over my heart as I wished I could stretch the day longer than 24 hours to spend more time with him. I had branched Mireille

Conversation was the key, right?“I’m not burdened, Alaric. If nothing, I’m glad you deemed me fit to share that part of you.” Her tone was warm, and he could tell she meant it. They said nothing until they pulled up in the building, and he watched her freeze. “What are we doing here?” Her voice cracked.“I have a surprise for you, " he said as he walked over to her and held her hand. Her heart was pounding so loudly against her ribcage as they walked through the passway. She could imagine them coming to take her away. However, they stopped in front of two men.“Do you know these men, Mrs Wolfe?” A uniformed man questioned. Isabella looked at the two men dressed in s
