The change

“…believe him.”

“Dr. Moscow.”

Eve stood up from the chair she was, kicking his feet. He fell again since he was squatting beside her.

How dare she treat him as some piece of shit! He would make her pay for this. Not only that, but he stood up with a hard glare.

“How did you know him?”

“I’ve known him for some time…”

“He’s my closest friend.” Wesley butted in.

“… Even in his disguise cloth, he’s what he told you he was, and follows him, that would be the best for you, your brother would want the same thing too.”

If he were truly a billionaire, it would be a lucky charm for her. He would be a stepping stone to achieving all she wanted.

“Tell her Moscow.” He stood erect, feeling his confidence back as the dusts the dirt off his jean.

“It’s a simple business deal, for three months. We faked dating and get our contract wedding nobody will know, and we would get a divorce. And go our separate ways after three months.”

He must surely want something from her, what was his reason for wanting to get married, what does he want from her? And why her?

“Why me, what do you want from me?”

“Your signature on the wedding papers, that’s all I need from you. And why you because, we would both get what we wanted.”

He turned to her.

“Deal or no deal?”

“Deal…” she took his outstretched hand and shook them.

“Let’s go, Wesley,”

He lied to her, and Moscow had covered it for his lies. She would get to see him once they leave tenderloin. The kind of person he was.

“Why do you want to get married to her, she’s someone you barely know, what about Sadie?”

“She’s just what she is.”

“What are your plans?” He asked, staring at him intensively. He’d known Wesley for the longest time, and he wasn’t into any good.

“And why are you still working at tenderloin, you better come back home. This place sucks.” He changed the subjects, while his gaze was on the piles of patient files on his table.

“But you’re getting married to one of those people that sucks.” He brought it back at him again.

“It’s a contracted wedding. No strings attached. I need her.”

“You’re deceiving her.”

“I’m not deceiving anyone. Help me with the lawyers. And let’s get this done.” His answers were carefree.

He was someone she should avoid.

“You so much want me to leave tenderloin.”

“It isn’t a place for you. Come back to the city and resume your work there.”

He would go back to the city, but not because he wanted to. But because of her. She’s naive. He would try his best to protect her in any way he can.

“What about the contract you came for?”

“I’ll have the meeting postponed for now”

“Isn’t it important?” Wesley's eyes fell on him.

“It is, but I can have it postponed, do you’ve got a problem with it Moscow.”

Moscow looked away with shrugged shoulders. He shouldn’t care.

“We can’t spend the night here, I already planned. We’ll leave immediately.” He stood up from the easy chair. Moscow was still seated, his eyes following Wesley.

“With Jacky?”

“He would continue his treatment when we get home. You better come back. It’s an order!”

“From the president.” He chuckled. “…would think about it.”

“I’ll tell the hospital to increase your pay. If that’s what you want.”

He laughed.

“I think I would be getting busier than I was.”

“With some stranger?”

He smiled a sly smile. He knew of all the girlfriends Wesley had, and how dominant he could be. And the girl had no deal, he would have her into one of his sexual escapades. None of the girls he’d dated stayed for less than a month. Except for Sadie.

“You’re leaving now?”

“Should I wait for you, in Moscow?”

Wesley chuckled, took the car keys, and walked out.

She was waiting outside his office, her eyes were weary, and she looked tired and sick.

“Let’s go,”

“…where are we going?” She looked up when she heard his voice. And turned to him.

“Home.”

“How am I going to get out?”

“You just have to get changed again.” He gave her the dress he bought, which she had to change into, a jean and a polo shirt with a face cap.

“Change into that, once you’re done, we will leave the hospital.” He tucked his hands into his pocket jean.

“What about my brother?”

“I’ll take care of that, we’ve to leave here first, that’s more important. You should change now.” He stares at her. She sighed, standing up from the chair, her hand gripped tightly to the dress as she walks.

“I won’t rest until the day I put my dad and brother's murderer in prison.” She swore, not until they got what they deserved.

His head spun around when he heard her.

She walked past him to get changed. Even as she dragged her feet towards the closed room, he could feel the pain in her. How badly she’d been hurt. How her heart aches so bad.

“I’ll be waiting for you.” The word blurts out of his mouth. And he doesn’t even know what that means.

Jacky strolled closely behind her, and Wesley was ahead of them, heading toward where the car was parked. He was in hospital uniform, which made him look like he was still a patient and not walking along with her.

Dino was by the hospital door, staring at everyone who was going in and out of the hospital. A girl wore the same dress she’d worn with a face cap and ran out through the door, and Dino raced after her. Thinking it was Eve.

“Let’s go, hurry.” Eve ran behind Jacky out of the hospital towards the car where Wesley was waiting for them, and they got in.

What the heck! She gasped when she saw the car.

Is he truly the man they talked about what with the car now? The car won’t start, Jacky had to go over and give some push before they were able to drive out of the hospital building.

“…something would change you.” The drunkard had said that to her this morning. Was this the change he talked about?
