Blake’s eyes didn’t leave me as he shut the door behind him.

“Who were you just speaking to?” he finally asked with his mouth the question his suspecting eyes had asked the second he walked in.

“Oh,” I sighed, spreading my arms to beckon him to come to bed, “that was just my mom, I wanted to let her know that I wouldn't be spending the night at home so she wouldn't worry about me,” I lied, guilt stabbing me in the guts as I forced on a worried look to sell my lie.

Blake nodded before coming to bed and pulling me into his chest, “She must really love you to pick up your call at 2 am, I know my dad would’ve scolded me the next day for daring to disturb his rest.”

Frankly, my mom would do the same but admitting that to him would mean admitting that I’d lied so I just laughed instead of piling up more lies.

“Who did you have to speak to out there though?” I threw the same question back at him, adjusting so I could look at his face.

“I wanted to ask Logan to give you tomorrow off
