30. Freedom At Last 2

“Okay, boss,” David agreed, and walked away while Jackson went through the Exhibition news once again. The thought that it was only his company that was absent, embarrassed him the more.

He stared into the space for a while, and muttered, “Alfred is a serious-minded business minded person, and would not miss this exhibition for anything. Where could he be?”

When Steve got the boss' invitation from David, he knew what to expect, and put himself together. He had worked with Alfred for five years, and had no record of recklessness. Before an hour, he was at the complex with Max. Thereafter, David led them into the office, with a sad demeanor, and they greeted, “Good morning, Sir Walter.”

Without answering their greetings, he studied their countenances, before he looked into their eyes, and asked, “Where is your boss?”
