They were on the night shift together, so Piper, Darrel, and Jason continued to walk around, checking and watching closely to make sure there were no unusual movements.

Darrel mumbled, "It's so silent," as he looked around.

Jason produced a cigarette and a lighter from his pocket, and he was about to put the cigarette to his mouth when Piper grabbed it from him. At that point, Jason looked up.

Piper remarked, "The light," and Jason greeted her with a grin before lighting the cigarette for her.

He was about to bring out another cigarette when they saw a strange person jump into the compound.

Immediately, he put the cigarettes out of his mouth and pulled out his phone, but Piper and Darrel had already fired the gun.

It would appear that the bullet missed its mark because the target took a different path and then started running.
