"Pull it, pull the trigger," Valjerome said weakly as he stared at me.
I did not move for a second, I just remained standing, still pointing the gun under his jaw, staring at his bloodshot eyes. Confused to the emotion he was showing.
I flinched when he held my hand. He pushed the gun I was holding more intensely under his jaw.
"Kill me. You can leave my house at any moment. But as long as I live, you and my son will stay here," he said in finale.
My grip on the gun tightened. The corners of my eyes began to tear up with frustration and anger.
"My son, Valjerome. He is mine. From the day you ordered me to abort him, you have completely lost the right to him," I said emphatically.
Once again, he pushed my hand closer to his jaw and slowly shut his eyes. "I'll restore that right of mine. If you don't want to, feel free to kill me right at this moment."

The sunlight was hitting my face when I woke up from my deep sleep. I immediately groped Erom beside me to hug him but I turned around immediately, the moment I did not felt his presence."Erom?" I panicked as I rolled my eyes.I stood away from the bed and then wandered around the room. When I can’t find him, I went out of the room."Erom?" I called again as I strolled down the stairs.I feel like I will cry because of the different situations that come to my mind. My nervousness doubled when I can’t see even a single guard around Valjerome’s house.Did he abduct my son?Did he hurt him?Did he...kill him?"Ero—" I stopped calling when I saw my son sitting in the high chair, smiling as he watched Valjerome cook."Oh, dear. You a
"Let me go, Valjerome," I said in a cold voice. He did not say a word and kept his arm around my knee."Please..." he murmured.I laughed sarcastically and looked up to suppress my tears. "Don't you think it's unfair?" I uttered."I know," he replied hoarsely. "But I am still hoping that you'll give a chance.""Do you think it will be that easy? Do you think I can bring my son closer to the person who wanted to kill him before?" I couldn’t help but vent my resentment.I felt his embrace tightened. "I won't hurt him. I just want to hold him, Jazzie." Slowly, he moved his head and looked up at me.His eyes were red as if he wanted to shed more tears. I admit, there is something inside me that is shocked at what he is up to now. The Valjerome in front of me was far from the person I used to know years ago who has no emotion and not cas
"Can I have this too?" Erom asked while holding a chess board. As a typical child, Erom joyfully picked toys once we entered the toy section. Valjerome assured him that he'll give him everything for free or should I say¾a hug in exchange.I have always been able to give Erom the things he likes, but he never asked for too much. Maybe he also knows how hard I work. Chaos, on the other hand, only brought him a toy whenever he passes by the mall, he has never take Erom for a walk like this because of being busy with work."Anything you want," Valjerome answered. My son smiled at him from ear to ear and then walked again to the row of toys where the medium size robots were. Valjerome immediately followed him, watching while there was a small smile on his lips.I just averted my eyes because I felt the corners of my eyes would heat up again. I stayed in my place and let them ge
I was pacing back and forth, restlessly thinking about my ex-husband. It's already 10 o'clock in the evening but I still can't hear him arrived. I couldn’t help but worry and feel guilty. If I had just let go of my bag right away, these would not happened.I bit my lower lip and I glanced at my son who's currently in his deep sleep. Slowly, realization hit me—the missing guards, everything. Valjerome did that for my son's sake.I heaved a deep sigh and then walked towards the bed where Erom was lying on. I gently leaned over him and hugged him tightly."Am I a bad person if I want to deprive you from him?" I whispered.I admit, I can feel his sincerity towards my son. But I am afraid. I feared that I would forget everything he did to me just because he was making up his shortcomings with my son.My attention was focused on the door when I heard three faint knocks. I s
"Do you usually cook?" Erom asked as he intently watched Valjerome cooking.Four days have passed and I could say that my son and ex-husband got closed to each other. He looked at my son for a moment and smiled sparingly. “I don’t always cook,” he replied.I could see Erom's eyes twinkle from the high chair he was sitting on. He was on the L-shaped center island while I, was sitting at the table."But you are always cooking. You always prepare the food," my son enumerated, confused.Valjerome giggled and continued cooking. "Because you are special, that's why I am the one who cooks the food," he explained."Why am I special?" Erom immediately asked.Valjerome did not answer at the moment. Slowly, he glanced at my son and forced to smile."Because you are..." I saw him gulped. "Cute," he continued.
"The project will start next week."I don’t know how many times I’ve rolled my eyes since I entered Valjerome’s office. Seeing this Briones girl made me want to puke. How can a pretty girl act like a hoe?She almost took off her clothes to show Valjerome her big boobies. However, my ex-husband tried to neglect it as if he isn't affected anyway. Huh! I know for sure, even if it is just a post in a skirt, he’ll fvck it.I am here on the mini couch of his office while they are talking at his office table so I can see them from my seat.I don't know why Valjerome brought me with him. Is it to show me how much of a cheater he is?Tss! As if I still care, even if they sex in front of me.Wait. On the second though. Eww! That’s gross.I just stopped p
Valjerome let out a cold laugh. "Erom is my son," he corrected.Chaos smirked and smiled playfully. "Last time I checked, he's my son.""You two, enough," I immediately sighed then shielded Chaos.I will admit that I was nervous about the situation. Valjerome and I may have been separated for a few years but I know him. He's a mafia boss. In just a snap, he could kill if he wanted to and that was the last thing I wanted to happen right now."Valjerome, let us leave," I said emotionlessly. He looked at me, giving me back the emotionless stare. "I have three more days to be with you, Jazzie," he said.I clenched my jaw. "With my son, Valjerome. Not with me," I emphasized. He licked his lower lip. "Still, you're not going anywhere. You and my son." He glared at Chaos who's standing behind me."What else
"Are you okay, son?" I gently asked Erom as we sat on the bed.We are now here in the condo. I've noticed his silence since we got in the car.He slowly raised his gaze to me. "I'm okay, Mom. It's just... I'm tired," he answered.I smiled thriftily then kissed him on the forehead. "Alright, go to bed. I'll just make you some milk so you can sleep easier,"He just nodded and then followed what I said. I watched my son lie down comfortably before I stood up and left the room."Is Erom asleep?" Chaos inquired when I arrived in the kitchen. He was sitting while drinking coffee."Just going to sleep," I replied and went to the sink to make a glass of milk"Are you okay?"I was stunned when Chaos asked me that.Am I okay? What if I am not? What is the reason
"A gift for your wife?" Jaime, one of my trusted men, casually spoke while driving the car.I nodded sparingly and stared again at the necklace I was holding. "For our wedding anniversary," I said lowly and forced a smile. And she'll never know..."You will confess?" he asked again.I chuckled emptily and put back the infinity necklace on its box. “You know I can’t do that right now,” I claimed. He stopped talking and focused on driving. I looked outside the car window and smiled sadly.A day from now, it's already our third year anniversary, my wife.IT'S almost 12 midnight when we reached my parents' party. I automatically snaked my arms around her, marking my wife at everyone's eyes as we took our way in.Sh
"You're wasting your time by calling him in your mind, Jazzie. I've already tricked your ex-husband's group elsewhere. But if he finds you here, you're already just corpses," Chaos spoke coldly."Why?" I asked hoarsely and then looked at him. "I trusted you, Chaos," I said weakly. He smirked. "That's the plan, Jazzie. For you to trust me," he said.I shook slowly and sighed then let out a laugh. "Is this necessary, Chaos? Does my son really need to be involved in the revenge you want¾that your family want?""My sister died in front of me, Jazzie. She shot herself," he stated."She killed herself. Your sister was the one who took her life, Chaos. Not me, not my son, neither Valjerome!" I snapped out of frustration.Chaos clenched his jaw. I also saw the instant lifting of the gun that the old Hevion was holding and pointed towards my direction again. Hi
Valjerome's men couldn't do anything when the van took me. They couldn't shoot just because I was already in the car."We already have her," said one of the passengers while holding a phone.I’m sure Chaos is the one he’s talking to. I just sighed quietly and then leaned back in the chair. I didn’t fight back or make any mess. Aside from the fact that I don’t have the energy for that, I know it’s useless if I make a scene. In the first place, I chose this.I feel the observation of the men I am with. They are watching me as if I can still do something at these times. I mentally shook my head and forced a smile. There is only one thing I can do now, that is to let Valjerome know my location.I bit my lower lip when I felt my phone vibrated on my thigh. It was hidden and I made sure no one would notice. By these times, I knew Valjerome already knew I h
"V-Val ..." I called Valjerome weakly and rasping as I entered the mansion. He immediately approached and hugged me. "It's okay, everything will be okay," he comforted as he gently stroked my hair.I shook my head. "It's my fault... It's my fault," I said repeatedly and leaned onto his chest due to weakness. My tears kept on flowing. I can't imagine that Chaos would do that to me, to our son—to the boy who considered him as a real father."I-I shouldn't have left Erom like I used to," I whispered between my sobs."Ssshh. Don't you blame yourself, Jazzie," Valjerome whispered.I shook again and then slowly let go of his embrace. With my blurry eyes, I stared at him."I can't take it anymore, Val. I can't afford to lose a child again," I said with great grievance. He looked at me softly and then pulled me again for a hug. "Don't think
"Papa!" Erom happily called Chaos as we entered his office. He ran into Chaos and gave him a hug. Chaos laughed and hugged Erom back. I just smiled and then slowly walked closer to them.Damn, it hurts. That insatiable Mafia Boss!"Did you miss me?" Chaos asked while putting Erom on his lap.Erom nodded quickly in response and then gave him a kiss on the cheek."How are you, Papa?" my son greeted.I sat on the visitor's chair and watched them talked. I couldn't help but stare at Chaos when I remembered what Valjerome had said earlier. He is an illegitimate child? In the six years Chaos and I have been together, he never mentioned anything about it. Even about his family, he does not always tell me stories related to it. I once met them when the
It was three in the morning but Valjerome and I were still awake. I was lying on his shoulder while his hand wrapped around mine. We both stared at the ceiling¾thinking and observing."Aren't you...remorseful?" he said in a low voice.I frowned at him. "Remorseful? Of what?"He looked at me softly and then gently brushed my messy hair with one of his hands. "Of what happened to us...today," he replied.I sneered at him. "You already took me six times, Valjerome. If I'm remorseful about it, then I should have rejected you for the second time."His lips curled up. "You counted it?" he asked amazingly. My cheeks warmed in embarrassment. "I-I didn't count. I just remember," I said.He let out a soft chuckle and hugged me closer. "I love you," he said sincerely."I...love you too," I admit shyly.
After scooping me from my seat, he carried me towards his room. He carefully laid me down on his bed then looked up and stared."Are you sure about this?" he asked, voice in controlled.I feel my throat dry up to answer, not because of nervousness but because of the heat I feel now as I see him staring at me."Why? You don't want me anymore?" I did the reverse card.I saw him gritted his teeth. "You are manipulating me." He then slowly crouched on my top.I closed my eyes as Valjerome ran his finger down my cheek, down my neck until it ruled my chest."Are you ... coming back into my life?" he asked hoarsely and began to remove the first piece of my nightgown.I groaned when the tip of his finger brushed on my skin. "Valjerome ..." I called desperately, eyes closed.I even overcame the burning with the heat I felt fro
It's already 11pm, yet I am still awake. I stayed up all night, locked in my room. My son fell asleep while asking me repeatedly if I was okay. I kept saying that I'm okay, but who am I fooling? I also didn't face Valjerome when he once knocked on my door to eat. I only let Erom out to follow him.My mind was messy. I don't know what to think anymore. I kept on flashbacking the memories in my mind. Why, Valjerome?I let out a sigh then decided to get up to drink some wine downatairs. There were no personnel scattered around, but even so I knew they were secretly watching. I went to the mini bar and got some wine there. Next I went to the refrigerator to get some ice, when I got everything I needed I went back again and sat down on the bar stool chair. I started pouring the wine and drank it straight away. The bitterness drew in my throat but I ignored that.I was already in the seco
It's been an hour since we got home. It was also that long since I secretly watched Valjerome and the woman downstairs from the second floor where I was standing. Jaime was also there. Based on what I see, it looks like the woman is very close to them.I bit my lower lip when Valjerome smiled at her, then lowered his gaze to her tummy. Even though I was far away, I could see his gentle stare there. I feel like my stomach became hollow.Elle...That's her name. When Valjerome introduced him to me earlier I immediately felt fidgety. I admitted I waited for something else he would say next; whether she is his friend, a co-worker, a partner or... the mother of his future child. But that didn't come. I'm also not sure if I'll be able to hear it in case he confirms my suspicion so I immediately bid goodbye and said that I would take Erom upstairs to rest.I exhaled deeply and decided to g
