Eden pov

Lucius insisted we head to the hotel, but as soon as the building came into view, he drove right past it. At first, I didn’t think much of it, but once he parked in front of a luxurious-looking building, I needed answers.

As it turned out, he was serious about the pool party he had demanded. He insisted it would happen, so he dragged me through the stores to buy me a swimming suit for the occasion.

Only when he felt happy with the choice and found a pair of shorts did we head to the hotel.

Everyone around us treated Lucius as a Royalty even without knowing who he was. He explained it with the greed that possessed them as soon as they saw his bank card. According to Lucius, people were wary of him, but as soon as money became a part of their interactions, everyone tried to suck up to him to get more of what he had.

By the time we got to the hotel and entered the room, I felt so low on energy, all I wanted was the comfort of bed and a couple hours of sleep.

Eden povLucius sighed and tightened his hold around me. “How about we leave it for later, then? For when things aren’t as crazy as they are today and we return back home? Then, we can start working on a training plan and some self-defense lessons for you. If being too weak is what you truly fear, let me tell you one thing...” He brought one of his hands to my chin and tilted my head so our eyes met. “You are far from weak, my love. Someone who was forced to crawl to hell and back is anything but weak. While you base your value and strength on who you are, you dismiss so many important details it’s a little sad. It gets worse when you put yourself down like this. Just because so many people mistreated and abused you in the past doesn’t mean you have to treat yourself the way they did. You are so much better than that.” I couldn’t explain the things his words did to me. No one had ever seen me like Lucius did. He saw me for me, not the things I had been called. Although his assuranc

Lucius povAfter our conversation, we managed to fall asleep. Eden passed out nearly instantly while I spent a couple of minutes staring at her sleep like a stalker. I knew that I dumped a lot on her shoulders, but those things had to be spoken about, and I needed for her to understand my position. Technically, I had given her more time than I had the right to. As the King, I had to mark my mate as soon as I found her, fully mate her within three days and by now, we should be expecting an heir. Our situation was tricky with the things she admitted and I really didn’t mind never having children if the Moon Goddess didn’t have any in plan for us, but that also was the reason why I kept Eden a secret. Nobody was to know I had found my mate until I marked her as mine. But clearly, she wasn’t ready for that yet. Or maybe I hadn’t made her feel safe enough to trust me yet. With those thoughts, I finally gave in and fell asleep. I had no idea how much time had passed when Eden woke me

Lucius povThe talk with Alpha Maverick in short was nothing I expected it to be. As I walked inside his office, I expected him to question me about the true reason why we arrived or ask me to share why I thought someone was trying to kill him. Once my ass was firm on the chair, he glared at me and cleared his throat. “I want to know what your intentions are toward Eden. She is a nice girl, very kind and forgiving, but I can’t let anyone stomp over her head as if she means nothing. I have overlooked too much mistreatment of her as it is. It’s about time for me to step up and be the Alpha I am supposed to be. The father I promised to be.” Honestly, I admired his bluntness. The no bullshit approach was rather refreshing. On top of that, the fact that this high-ranked man could admit his mistakes and own up to them, yeah, I could tell he was an Alpha worthy of his title. Plus, the longer I stayed quiet the more color appeared on his cheeks, which had to be an indication of him, getti

Eden povWas it weird that I felt like I was at the top of the world? The way Lucius looked at me made me feel as if there was no other person on this planet, just me. Or maybe it was the fact that he made me feel like he saw no one but me? I watched him as Lucius finally snapped out of the haze and ran up the stairs. Once he reached me, he didn’t say a word; instead, his lips captured mine in a passionate kiss. Although I was taken by surprise, I didn’t hesitate to melt against him. No other man in my life had ever stood a chance to stand near Lucius. Some time ago, I assumed he was a monster, a man incapable of feelings and emotions, yet he did everything to prove how wrong I was to think of him like that. The King was more than I believed I deserved, but I wouldn’t allow the doubt cloud my mind. If the Moon Goddess paired us, she had a reason for that. If a deity thought we were a perfect fit and Lucius seconded that, who was I to deny their vision?Once we broke apart, I remem

Lucius povI was surprised by the amount of pack members, who approached me just to have a quick chat and introduce themselves. When Eden and I entered this room, I assumed all of them would have questions about the King and my purpose here, but to my utter surprise, none did. Even the dickhead of an ex mate was present, although he stood in the furthest corner and just glared daggers at me. “That’s it, fucker, look at the man who is worthy of her,” Xabat growled from the back of my mind. His possessiveness amused me more than it could annoy me. I liked how in sync we were when it came to Eden and our obsession over her. “He can sulk all he wants, it won’t change a thing, my friend,” I quickly reminded him of the fact, simply to ensure he wouldn’t get pissy and wouldn’t try to break free. The last thing we needed was anyone around here seeing the beast that hid underneath the surface of my skin. As I kept chatting with the pack members, I noticed that the slimy Luna’s daughter w

Lucius povI couldn’t describe how unjustly happy I felt hearing her words. I wasn’t supposed to feel like this - this proud and full of myself, but I did. Knowing Eden was equally as terrified to lose me as I was just did something to me. I held her a little tighter as I tried to soothe her. For a brief moment, though, because soon my bliss was broken by the words that echoed in my mind. “Let Asher do the things he is already planning to do to me?” Were her words. What did Eden mean with those words? Was there something she was keeping secret from me? Although deep down I understood that building trust took time, I couldn’t claim that it didn’t hurt me to witness a moment she didn’t trust me enough to voice her fears earlier. “Tell me everything. Take a few deep breaths and just lay it all out for me. Whatever it is, I will fix it. It doesn’t matter how far I have to go to fix it, keep in mind that for you, I will go to the end of the world, so whatever it is - let me deal with i

Eden povWas it normal that my heart started beating just a little faster? That my cheeks tinted red as the heat traveled even to the tips of my ears, and that my throat dried up? Although I still wasn’t sure as to how to respond and what words could be fitting in a situation as such, I knew I had to speak up before Lucius took my lack of answer as rejection. The only thing that I knew for a fact was that I didn’t want to deny him. I didn’t want to say no to Lucius, especially when he looked at me like this. His eyes were gentle, as always, but there was that hidden hint of sharpness, impatience and lust that I didn’t think would go so perfectly with the calmness of his voice and stoic facial expression. It felt like just seconds ago, I experienced a mental breakdown, just to feel this liberated and calm after something that was supposed to worry me. Lucius raised an eyebrow, “love? Are you okay? We don’t need to go that far if you’re not ready yet, it’s-” I raised my hand to int

Lucius povI was terrified. Mortified to the core of my being. Xabat had snatched the control of my body when I wasn’t paying attention, my guard was literally non-existent for a mere moment and he took the chance. But I had a reason to drop my guard. Eden had claimed she was half breed, more human than wolf, so was she supposed to go through a heat? I could keep pondering the possibility, but her scent answered the questions before I had a chance to ask any. And worst of all, I had no idea what was happening while I was pushed out and trapped. He could have done anything, fulfilled his wildest fantasies, traumatized Eden to a point of no return, and I couldn’t do anything to stop him. We had many enemies, for fuck’s sake, someone was trying to kill me, but if it turned out that Xabat had tossed caution aside and mistreated Eden, I would personally feed him some silver. No one had the right to hurt our Queen, especially us. When I felt his grip on control loosen, I held my breat

Eden povI was beyond nervous as I tried to stop my hands from shaking while cutting up the vegetables. I hadn’t had enough time to figure out how to come clean with my family, but this really felt like the right time to do that. Lucius and Titus were probably already playing their guessing game about whatever they had done wrong and I wouldn’t disturb them doing that. Honestly, both of them have been acting like two hormonal teenagers these days, so they deserved a little adult worthy stress. As some of the kitchen ladies joined me and started up the usual conversations, I felt more at ease. However, every time when I glanced at the clock and saw the dinner time nearing, a new wave of unease surged through me. “Are you planning to prepare some desserts for little Magnus, my Queen?” Mayra asked, flashing me her usual bright smile. I hummed, thinking if sugar was a good idea right before bedtime. But then again, this dinner had to resemble sort of a joyful moment, so maybe it wou

§Three months after the wedding.§Titus povEden was officially ours and no one could do shit about it. Our journey had been nothing less than a deadly fucking rollercoaster ride, but the outcome was so worth it. Looking back at how things went, personally I went from thinking I wouldn’t find a mate, to finding one and being rejected, and finally, to finding out that my best friend and the woman I had grown extremely protective of were my own ‘it’. But best of all, I didn’t get only them. With them both came a family I didn’t dare to dream of and an awesome son. I didn’t tell Lucius and Eden, but if I had to choose, I would always choose Magnus. The little dude was awesome. At least sometimes he was.And now, while Eden and Lucius were busy running around the castle and fucking on top of every surface they could find, my little man Magnus and I were nearly done with building the most badass lego set ever. Well, we would be done with it ages ago if the little shit wouldn’t accuse m

Eden povThe next moment, Titus shoved me on the bed. Both my amazing mates, now husbands, didn’t return the favor they did when they were undressing me. Instead, they took off their clothes torturously slowly. Piece by piece, they dropped everything next to their feet and grinned at me like lunatics.Rolling my eyes, I groaned and turned to my side to mumble, “since you two are taking ages to undress, I might as well take a nap while you’re at it.” I knew I was playing with fire, but what was life without some spark in it? It didn’t take much time for both of them to grab my ankles and pull me to the end of the bed. Lucius instantly dropped to his knees and spread my legs. The moment his tongue ran between my folds, Titus’ lips captured mine in a passionate kiss. All of my moans were muffled and silenced by his tongue, tasing me and exploring every bit of my mouth. When Lucius slid his tongue lower, I bit Titus’ lip to break the kiss. “What?” He asked, breathless. “What is Luc

Eden povWith Richard and Magnus by my sides, I felt at ease. The door opened and the music started. As soon as we stepped on the beautiful white carpet laid down the aisle, Lucius and Titus turned their heads to look in our direction. The moment their eyes set on me, blinding smiles spread across their lips. I had never thought about my wedding day, but I never imagined that my husband-to-be would cry seeing me. In reality, I had two men who were ready to die for me, and both had tears in their eyes. As I slowly walked down the aisle, I couldn’t tear my eyes away from them. Both were wearing perfectly tailored suits, a rose in their pockets. And best of all, they were holding each other’s hand. When I finally reached them, Richard squeezed my hand, whispered, “I’m so proud of you,” and then held my wrist to offer my hand to Lucius. Magnus did the same, but he whispered that I looked beautiful and he would punch his dad’s asses if they hurt me. Richard and Magnus took their assi

Eden pov A week had passed since we returned home, like one, united family, better than ever. Lucius made it his life goal to ensure that my old pack had everything under control. As it turned out, the old Alpha was a liar, not a man of honor. He faked his disease to get rid of the responsibilities of leading a pack and while everyone worried about his health, the old Alpha lived a life of luxury. That, of course, was sponsored by the wealth left to me by my mother as well. Recently, the new Alpha and his Luna found out that the pack was nowhere near struggling financially even without my money. They had loads of cash hidden all over the place and multiple incoming money streams. We all agreed that it had to be the plan of the old Alpha and my step-mother. They had to have been planning to save up as much as they could, bleed the pack dry and take off. But as for us, our life was great. My mates were better than ever, Richard took it upon himself to bond with our son and b

Eden pov This was one of those moments when I really needed Kanox. I needed his advice or at least to hear his voice. While I had no idea what I was supposed to do, he would definitely have the answer. My eyes focused on the sick creature, wearing someone’s else’s skin as if that was no big deal. He looked human, but didn’t smell like one. Honestly, if he were to walk among other humans, I had little to no hope that anyone around him would understand that he was a sick, sinister creature, not one of their own. When he stepped so close I could smell a hint of sulfur on him, I realized he wasn’t just another supernatural. This was the first time I caught on the smell as well. “Will you first tell me the full story about my parents?” Clearly, he saw through me. I wanted to know, yes, but I also was using the question to stall, to win some time for my mates. “Of course, anything for you,” it said, grinning. I gulped, growing more nervous with every second that passed, but

Titus povI had no idea how Lucius felt about this, but what I found extremely fascinating was how the old man spoke about Eden. He sounded amazed and scared shitless at the same time. Sure, I wasn’t the best person to judge one’s character without massive amounts of information, but I could have sworn that he was just as clueless about what this ‘special’ trait was as we were. “And?” Lucius broke the silence, urging the old man to tell us more. The grunt that left him clearly was a proof of his unwillingness to tell us more, not that Lucius cared anyway. “Richard, we are done playing games. It is our mate you are talking about, Titus and I deserve to know what’s so special about Eden and exactly why that creature is after her.” My eyes darted between them two as I imagined an intense tennis match. The ball went from one side of the court to the other, never reaching the ground or the white lines surrounding them. At this rate, this imaginary match could go on for ages. “There a

Richard’s hands grabbed mine as he struggled to get out of my hold, but I had none of it. Whatever would happen next was out of my control - this time, I would allow Xabat take the fucking thing he loved almost as much as he loved our mates. Richard’s spine. Titus rushed to my side and carefully placed his hand on my shoulder. “Xabat, babe, let him go. Trust me, we need him alive. It wasn’t his fault. Don’t make this harder than it already is. Listen to what the old man has to say, maybe he has ideas where that fuckhead took Eden. We need the old man.” Honestly, I wouldn’t have released Richard. Ever. Eden povMy eyebrows furrowed in confusion. I understood that this thing was on some weird quest because of my late mother, but why was her blood so damn important? While I was busy trying to figure it out, the creature snapped his fingers and suddenly, my eyes opened with ease. The weight was gone and nothing held me down, except for the restraints on my legs. “See, it wasn't so hard, was it?” It mocked me.My eyes scanned the dark room until they set on the black blob of nothingness in the furthest corner. I might be freaking dreaming because I could have sworn the thing was grinning at me. It had no mouth, no eyes, no limbs - nothing. And yet, I could feel his eyes on me and see the non-existent grin across the lips. “Do not worry, my lovely. I shall help you see me in a better light soon. You see, I have brought a friend with me. Trust me, you’ll love him. I chose him to fit your liking. I told you that I’ve been watching, haven’t I?” With that being said, the thing disappear
