Chapter 7: The Conversation

Gigi saw the green house from far away and almost escaped again. She had to stop for a few seconds to close her eyes and just breathe, she wasn't going to run away that time. So she gained courage out of nowhere and walked to where the house was, she needed to face her mistakes.

Liz opened the door really quickly, as if she had been waiting for Gigi. She was wearing lilac shirt and black trousers; her hair was messy but she still looked cute to Gigi. She always looked cute to Gigi.

"Hi stranger, wanna come in?" Liz mumbled with a happy face as she always had. Gigi couldn't believe she was stepping in on Liz's house again in that short amount of time. "Your phone is here." Liz rapidly gave Gigi her phone and accidently touched her hand. They both stood still and Gigi just knew that Liz felt the same electricity going through her body as she was feeling.

"I'm the dumbest person ever. I just don't really care about my phone and I was having such a nice time yesterday!" Gigi replied almost embarrassed while she made her way into Liz's house. That house always smelled like cookies and grass, and Gigi just loved it, it felt so warmth.

"I'm glad you had fun! I saw you really engaged in a conversation with the girls. I assume you weren't really talking to them before last night, am I wrong?" Gigi shook her head and bite her lip to show how ashamed she was, talking about it so lightly with Liz felt weird.

On the other hand, Liz was trying to be mean; she knew that Gigi wasn't talking to them but wanted to try her, was she really sorry for what she had done to their friends? "They really missed you." Liz followed Gigi to the kitchen, she was almost amazed at how naturally Gigi was walking around her house, almost as she had never left at all. "We all did." She added. Gigi was shocked at the confession; Liz had missed her? For real?

Gigi and Liz sat on the chairs from the kitchen table. Liz had prepared coffee for her (Gigi was sure Liz still knew how she liked her coffee) and there were some cookies on the table, as if Liz had really cared about Gigi at least for two seconds.

"Is you mom home?" Gigi changed the subject, a common thing for her to do when she felt threatened or did not know what to do. "My mom needs me to tell her something." She was already lying and she had just arrived on the Monrae's house. Great.

"My mom isn't home; you'd have a way fancier breakfast served if she was here." Liz admitted and started eating one of the cookies. She thought that conversation with Gigi was going to be harder but it felt natural.

"I already had breakfast but this is cute. Cereals are better though." Teased Gigi and immediately started to drink her coffee. Yes, Liz remembered her how she liked her coffee. Gigi felt flattered.

"Well, some things never change." And it was true, who would have thought they would be simply sitting next to each other holding a conversation after all those years of pain?.

"Yeah?" They stayed in silence for a couple of minutes but it wasn't awkward at all, they were just co-existing. Liz felt inexplicably good around Gigi and Gigi never felt like she wanted to run away, which was a good sign.

"Do I need to start talking or you'll eventually start?" Liz was impatient. She needed to hear Gigi's side of the story; she was kind of hoping to hear a really good excuse that made everything better for both of them. "Why did you do that, Gigi?" Liz was feeling fierce.

"I just- I don't know. I really needed to leave in that way." Gigi wasn't expecting Liz to start that conversation. Liz was a really shy and non-confronting person and Gigi always had something to say, even to switch the conversation into her favor. It was funny how things had changed.

"And that need prevented you from behaving as a good person?" The conversation was already starting out strong, as it should have been the second Gigi started having thoughts about leaving.

"I guess so." Gigi truly did not know what to say and this situation was not what she was expecting. She was expecting them to play dumb around each other for a while like it had happened the day before, but it just did not happen this time because Liz had a lot of things to say and no one was around that time.

"Come on Gigi, we're not seventeen anymore. You're gonna have to try harder than that. At least with me. I think you owe me that." Liz crossed her arms. She had only been nice to Gigi the previous day just because her parents were around or so Gigi thought, maybe Liz was this new confronting serious person now.

"I surely do, and I'm incredibly sorry Liz I just thought it was the best thing to do at the time." 'What a lame excuse' thought Gigi. Her tongue was acting weird on her and wasn't allowing her to speak correctly. It was almost excruciating to see how the queen of words was falling flat on her face.

"A warning would've been nice, Gigi. But sure, you were never mature enough." Liz was really pissed, even though she shad tried over the years to hold only positive thoughts about Gigi, seeing her made her realize she was still hurt.

"I was never mature enough? Liz, please, we both know you were the baby of the relationship. Always crying and complaining about every single thing." Gigi wanted to shut her own mouth immediately but wasn't being able to. Insulting Liz surely wasn't the right choice if she wanted the orange head to forgive her at some point.

"And you knew that but still decided to make me feel bad! What an amazing person." Luckily, they were interrupted by Liz's phone, she asked Gigi for a second and left the room.

That conversation was not going well and the worst part wasn't that Gigi was at a loss of words, it was that all that Gigi wanted to do was kissing Liz. Literally. She couldn't stop staring at her soft lips. She really needed to rearrange her tactics, being a cold person wasn't ever going to work, at least not with Liz.

Minutes started passing by and Gigi was getting more and more anxious, her head was elsewhere and her intelligent thoughts were nowhere to be found. When Liz came back Gigi could see the guilt written all over her face.

"Sorry Gigi, I think we're gonna have to have this conversation other day. I forgot I had a couple of things to do with Delilah." Gigi wanted to kill Liz with her own hands. Was that her karma? She literally hadn't even started drinking her coffee and had only been able to say two words to Liz. Was she that unimportant to her Liz? It seemed like she was.

But, on the other hand, maybe she could be more prepared next time and have her arguments straight, so it might have been a blessing. Although deep inside Gigi knew that the thing that upset her the most was the fact that Liz was going to spend her time with Delilah and not with her.

"Well? Have fun with your girlfriend, Liz" She managed to stand up as quickly as she could and walked alone to the door.

Liz did not dare to say a word. Yes, she could cancel on Delilah and just keep fighting with Gigi but was she ready? Not at all. Gigi meant so much to her that having a strong conversation out of nowhere could end up really bad. She did not even stand up to say bye, she was petrified.

Chapter 9: Is It Hot In Here Or Is It Just Me?"Hi Gigi, come in if you want, I was about to leave" Liz casually opened the door to invite her in. She looked especially hot that night and Gigi stood where she was completely breathless. Liz was wearing a really short lilac dress and her usual Dr. Martens. Hot, hot, hot. Even though Gigi was shaken by seeing Liz again so soon, she decided to come in, she couldn't run away from her, not even in those little situations, Liz was just so magnetic. "You look really good, Liz." Gigi pointed out while she made her way to that tiny bathroom. She was always shameless around Liz and plus, she was drunk, but she felt like she trusted Liz enough to tell her those kinds of things, like it did not matter the fact that she left for three years in the middle, she felt like Liz was the same person as she was three years ago. She couldn't be more wrong. "You look really hot too, Gigi." Liz was also a little bit drunk. She did not like drinking that much

She could act like a bad person all she wanted, but she still got chills when Liz got closer to her and couldn't manage the situation. "God, what are you going to do?! Gigi was so relieved to see Liz coming out of that place, she was thirsty and also missed her terribly even if she had just left minutes ago. The orange-haired was holding two big drinks in her hands, both had cream on top of them and were iced, so Gigi was intrigued. When she tried the beverage, it tasted better than she had imagined and she felt butterflies in her stomach thinking about how much Liz knew her. "What? You were already missing me?" Liz shot back with a flirty tone, she was determined to forget what had happened and just enjoy her day with Gigi. If she could make her feel happy even for some hours, she was going to do it. Seeing her sleeping next to her with her messy hair and her makeup still on her face gave Gigi all the good vibes that she needed. However, she knew she had already bothered Jayla a lot with her problems, and maybe she had even drained her brain a little bit, so she decided to spend that day on her own, maybe going to the park to prepare herself for the upcoming semester, that was getting closer each day, or just to listen to some music was the right thing to do. The relationship she had with Gigi's mom was almost like she was a member of her own family, in fact, she always called her 'aunt'. Liz felt so miserable with the fact that she was going to have to lie once again and that time it was directly to her aunt, it sucked since they had a no lies policy between them."I thought Gigi was with you? Well, maybe bored wasn't the word she would use, she was tired. Her kiss with some blonde girl got her up all night and the bags under her eyes were the living proof of it. She wanted to know how Gigi was doing if she had felt the same amount of happiness as her if she had stayed up all night thinking about her as Liz did if she had felt like she fell in love all over again with Liz and many more things. But, taking the good feelings aside, Liz was sad. The guilt she was feeling was almost consuming her and was damaging her brain, she couldn't even breathe without feeling like the worst person alive. She was a loser for not telling Delilah the truth and a bigger loser for choosing not to talk to Gigi instead of trying to fix things once again. Delilah had called her a couple of hours after that in
