Jealousy spiked in her chest and she felt like pulling Brishor from there. But comprehension struck. Why should she be jealous when— She turned her gaze away to look at the couples dancing in the center of the hall. They looked so graceful and beautiful together. The dragon females were exquisitely dressed. They had such pronounced features and were taller than her. She was perhaps the shortest in the entire crowd and perhaps the most petite.
Inadvertently, her eyes went back to Brishor. She saw that he was accosted by more courtiers and Tere and her friends had stepped away. All of a sudden, she noticed that Angus pointed in her direction and spoke in low whisper to Tere. She smiled and dipped her head slightly in acknowledgement. Angus went to Brishor while Tere walked in Meryl’s direction, and Meryl was totally flabbergasted. Dread grew in her like cold waves. She watched the confident gait with

“Oh, wait!” Morana intervened. “Once he breaches your virginity you will have more rocky nights. He loves to have sex with bound and gagged females. He will tie you up in ropes and all,” she said waving her hands in the air, “and then hang you up in the ceiling and have sex with you.” She fanned her face. “Gods, it is so hot!” She swiveled her head to Meryl. “I have heard that Chezzal also loves all that and more.” She smacked her head. “I am sorry to have revealed all that to you and not leave as a surprise.”“Royal slut!” Rene tittered. “That sounds like a nice name for a woman like you. Meryl, the royal slut,” she said, writing the words with her fingers in the air. And as she wrote the words appeared in golden dust that disintegrated the moment the words completed. She leaned forward and curled her fin
Why was she hearing her father’s voice or was it just an illusion? The fingers gestured to her to follow them. And so, Meryl followed. Mesmerized, hoping for a miracle, she followed for a long time till she was deep in the forest. The fingers pointed to her left, and an icy burst of surprise surged in her when she found herself looking at the blue sizzling ring of the portal. She stifled an excited squeal. When she looked back to thank the shadows, there was nothing present. She pressed her hand to her mouth and realized that the shadows guided her. She giggled and then without another delay, she rushed towards the portal. As and as she inched towards it, it started to sizzle all the more and grow in size. Meryl came to stand right in front of it and the portal was as tall as her. The blue lights of the portal shimmered on the snow and the forest around her shone dimly. The effect was riveting. She
Meryl peeked from her place around the edge of the stairs. When she looked straight up, she saw her stepmother, Lady Judith. Her hair was a mess. She loomed over the railing so steeply and dangerously that with one push she could topple down. It seemed that she had too much to drink, but she never acted like this before. This was more than just drinking. She seemed to be on a high. Her face was looking haggard even from her distance. Judith swayed and danced away from the railing with her hands up in the air, humming a song with her nasal voice that sounded like a crow’s call. Once again she came to the railing and bent over it dangerously, the decanter in her hand turning parallel to the ground and spilling its content. She stood straight all of a sudden and took the decanter to her mouth and chugged at its contents. Judith threw it down the railing and wiped her mouth with her sleeve.
“This is absolutely ridiculous! I think you have heard wrong, Patsy!” Meryl said a bit loudly. “I will never accept to become Lord Alex’s wife.” Her stomach dropped. What about Brishor and Chezzal? She couldn’t betray them. But what was she even thinking? She had run away from Galdere, from the two dragons only for her people. And now that she had a chance to salvage their situation, she was balking? “No!” Patsy stared at Meryl with eyes full of gloom and dashed hopes. “M’lady, I don’t know about your mother, but no one is going to force you into marrying Lord Alex. However, this is the only way you can save us and you know it. People in Windley would not see how much you will benefit; they will only see their benefit. If you won't accept Lord Alex’s proposal, you will deprive us of the only chance we have ever had in so many years.” Patsy was kneeling in front of her. She held Meryl’s hands and her
“Shut up Morana!” Tere snapped. “You weren’t at fault.” She looked at Brishor and said, “I already told you that Meryl was a bitch. She is not worth you. She is too rustic and uncouth and doesn’t know what to talk with others. You should throw her in dungeons for speaking to Morana like this. Morana is the nobility and she is the one who suits you better.” A roar sounded and the next instant a slap landed on her cheek. Tere went flying, crashing into the stone railing which splintered on impact. Shocked as hell, she yelped in pain as others gasped. The crowd behind them started dispersing. “Brishor!” Angus yelled. “How dare you?” He lunged at Brishor but Chezzal came to stand in the way and Angus collided with the General. He flung his hand at Chezzal, trying to punch him on his head, but Chezzal held his fist midair and punched him in his belly.
The midnight hour chimed through the castle, the ringing echoing through the dark and silent halls of the castle. Marriage with Lord Alex? The thought unsettled her so much that she needed something to do. Something to take her mind off the deal her mother had brokered with Lord Alex. Meryl found herself in the center of a storm that seemed to be sucking her at a rapid rate. Not able to sleep, she swept her feet off to the ground, tossing the blankets away. Grabbing a shawl from the foot of the bed, she wrapped it tightly around her. She walked to the window and glared at the gusty cold winds that whipped more rain outside. She missed the presence of two muscular bodies around her and her toasty bed. Her gaze went to the hearth that was burning, giving the room a soft glow, but even all that fire couldn’t make her feel good and warm. It had been two days and she missed the way she hugged Chezza
“Had Lord Alex asked me to marry him, I would have done so at the drop of a hat. But I have no idea why he is asking you. You should consider yourself lucky that he wants you along with this castle!” Viola spewed her venom more out of jealousy than out of fury. She had secretly liked Lord Alex. Last time when he had come to the castle for the party hosted by her mother, he had shown a lot of interest in Meryl but she wasn’t interested in him. Viola had done everything to put her down in his eyes. And she had succeeded when he made fun of her in front of every guest in the party. Lord Alex had also insulted Meryl in front of everyone and they had all laughed at her. But on the inside Viola knew that he was doing it only because Meryl didn’t understand his advances. Viola was shocked when he had sent an offer to buy the Windley estate and asked for Meryl’s hand also. She was so jealous of Meryl that s
Along with Chezzal, Brishor went to the deep woods where the soldier had pointed out. There was nothing out there except the same snow over the pines and firs. However, what intrigued him was a thicket of naked pines. The two dragons walked inside the thicket. Shock flickered through them when they saw that some of the branches had snapped. They looked like that had been broken recently. Fresh snow had accumulated over them. Many beasts roamed around freely in the forest, but he had never seen branches felled like this. They were felled and broken in a circle as if to give space to a ritual that was performed in the middle of the thicket. With a dangerous growl rumbling in his chest, Brishor walked closer and his gaze went to the ground in the center. And right over there he found traces of ash. He knelt down over it and picked up the damp ash. He r
“What is it?” Brishor said, his face drained of color. He looked at Chezzal who was looking as ghastly as the past several hours. He had to give it to Chezzal that he had more strength than him in such situations. “Oh! Another head is forming!” The healer informed her. “Push, Meryl!” Meryl pushed again with whatever energy she was left with. “We got another boy!” The healer announced. Cendyt rushed back and was now going crazy! “I got two grandsons!” she cried out of pleasure. Brishor came to stand right beside Meryl on her right. “My queen,” he whispered as he held her hand and squeezed it softly. “You’ve made us so proud.” A teardrop fell on Meryl’s hand.
Meryl had had a long chat with Cendyt about heats. Cendyt had told her the implications of it. She had said that it had been hundreds of years since Galdere has seen the face of a royal child. The reason why she was interested in marrying and putting up with Tere’s bullshit was that she wanted a baby, an heir for Galdere. Tere was ready to marry Angus, but Brishor wanted to find his third mate. In case Brishor never married or never found his mate, Angus’s child would have been the heir to the throne.Cendyt had made it amply clear to Meryl that she wanted grandchildren and wanted them fast. She also said that female dragons came in heat once a year, but she didn’t know what was the case with her, because she was turned. Meryl thought it was better to watch and wait. Maybe, she was going to exhibit the same traits as any other dragon female.
Chezzal thought that he had got inside her too fast. What about her pleasure? He thrust inside her lazily and kissed her lips. He nibbled at her bottom lip and whispered, “I want to go down and lick you.”His dirty words aroused her as hell. She bucked her hips into his to show what she wanted. He chuckled. “You are wicked.”He pulled out and started kissing her. He left a trail of kissed all the way from her lips to the hollow of her neck, her breasts, belly and then to her sex. Once there, he licked off her juices with his tongue until she started groaning needily.“Ah! I can't take it anymore,” she hissed. Brishor turned his face over her chest and began suckling them lazily.Chezzal lifted his head up to see
Brishor set Meryl on her feet. There was so much brightness around her that it blinded her for a moment. When she opened her eyes again, she found herself surrounded by huge mountains and snow all around interrupted by tall firs and pines. The snow was fresh and glistening on the mountain slopes as the sun shone brilliantly over them.“Where are we?” she asked, when Brishor took her hand and tugged her to a log cabin that stood on a ledge of a slope, surrounded by a thicket of pines, just a few meters away. The cabin looked… dark and lonely. It was as if there was no one around it. With snow crunching under their boots, and her sandals, they stepped ahead. But seeing that her sandals had become immediately wet, Brishor picked her up. Cold wind blew and fluttered her veil. She wondered how cold this place would be at night. Chezzal came from behind and lifted her veil.
Meryl climbed the dais, her gaze locked with his through the veil. Brishor couldn’t wait to touch her, so he took her hand and helped her climb the steps of the dais. When she came to stand beside him, Brishor couldn’t help thinking that he was the luckiest man in the Lore. His gaze was fixed on her as her maids helped her with the train of her dress. When she was settled, Brishor took her hand to his lips and kissed it as he stared through her veil into her eyes. He just couldn’t help it. “You look beautiful,” he breathed. Meryl’s face heated up and her heartbeat accelerated. Brishor would have continued to look at his mate had the priest not coughed up. “Your Highness, should we start with the ceremony?” Meryl chuckled and Brishor had to leave her hand. They turned to look at the audience and the priest began to chant ancient liturgy. As soon as
Brishor was nervous like a boy who was going to get his first kiss from his girlfriend, or from any girl for that matter. His mother had taken Meryl from their room saying that she needed to be dressed properly because the girl was about to become the queen of Galdere. That’s why Brishor was left alone with Chezzal and Ludwig.Ludwig was making a huge commotion. He blamed Brishor for delaying and because of him, he wasn’t able to meet Penny. It had been close to two hours and the men in the room had become edgy. The servants were supposed to be happy because their king was getting married, instead they were scared when the three mighty men may burst with anger.“You are looking gorgeous!” Ludwig grated. “I am sure you look better than Meryl even. Now will you just walk out of here and get married?”
After what she did to Meryl, Tere wasn’t allowed anywhere near the royalty. Angus was taken out of the prison and when she came to know she had rushed to meet him, but Tere wasn’t allowed to enter the palace by the guards. Even her father’s influence couldn’t get her there. Later, she came to know that Dirk was informed that his daughter was banned from entering or meeting Angus or for that matter any other royalty.Tere was shocked. Her bitterness rose to the next level against Meryl and now she needed solid revenge. That is why when Dirk was invited to the ball, she made a plan in which she was going to use the same tactic she used last time. Her father would put her down, make her feel low and then Meryl would come out, feeling like a doormat.Dirk had somehow smuggled his daughter in the palace’s grounds the previous nigh
Meryl lips curled up. “I am yours…” she breathed.Brishor pulled her up and crashed his lips over hers in a chaste, yet passionate kiss. “I love you,” he whispered in her ear and twirled her once again. She squealed merrily as he brought her to a stop in his arms.A few moments later, other couples joined them on the dance floor and a mood of merriment was set.Brishor gave her to Chezzal after the first dance and then went to talk to his mother and other guests who had surrounded her. Since the wedding was in two days and since Galdere kingdom was witnessing a royal wedding after a long time, his mother was of the opinion that not only the netizens of Galdere should be invited, but kings and queens of other kingdoms too should be invited. And Brishor really didn’t wa
71Meryl lay between her mates, post coital. If having sex like a human was thrilling, having sex like an immortal was like a bomb blast. She was heaving, sweat slicked and glowing. She was exhausted and wanted to sleep. As for the dragons, they wanted more. “You both can now go to hell,” she chuckled.“Then you are coming to hell with us,” Brishor said as he nipped her earlobe.“No, I am going to stay right here,” Meryl laughed.Chezzal coiled his arms around her and pulled her close to his chest. He tucked her head beneath his chin and closed his eyes. “She is tired, Brishor. Give her some time to be ready for us.”“Yes, I will be ready in another two day
