One month later.
Brighton Estate.
Edmund was standing on the training ground watching the preparations for the training drill being carried out by the knights of Brighton. The knights all looked so serious about sparring while sweating. Some of them were only shirtless with a chest protector on their heart.
“Again! Swing your swords! Don’t be such a lazy! Are you a lady?" exclaimed the knight leader who trained each of the squads.
“No, Sir!” said the knights in unison.
On a different field, the spearmen were training. Meanwhile, some of the men in charge of climbing and launching explosives were training in different areas.
Clank!
Edmund had just thrown his opponent's sword until his opponent fell to his knees. Edmund swiftly drew his sword exactly an inch in front of his opponent's neck.
“You are a dead man. Try again!" said Edmund, heaving his sword and holding out his hand.
"Thank you, si
Astrid looked at herself in the mirror. Over the last few months, she had learned about royal etiquette. She learned how to stand, how to walk, how to greet, everything she needed to know as a queen. Despite the fact, she would only become a puppet queen without power or strength. Yet by making her queen, Leonard had a real grip on her.The reflection in the mirror revealed a beautiful woman's face that looked foreign to Astrid's eyes. Her skin was so smooth and soft, and her complexion was enchanting. Her shoulder-length brunette hair was well styled and decorated with jeweled accessories. Her round amber eyes were adorned with sheer eye shadow and eyeliner that emphasizes the beauty of her eyes. The cosmetics covering her face made Astrid hardly recognize herself in the mirror. The woman's figure in the mirror looked so beautiful, but her eyes were blank and cold, as cold as Astrid's heart ever since she separated from Draco and realized the harsh reality that haunted her.
Astrid’s heart was beating fast as she tried to stare out the window from inside the horse carriage. Since earlier, without realizing it, her hands were busy squeezing her gloves, trying to feel the ring that Edmund had given her in her grasp. For Astrid, the ring was living proof that she was still connected with Draco and his friends. She hoped to escape from Leonard's grasp as soon as she managed to find out the secret of the warlock's weakness. Be patient a little more, Astrid. There must be a way out. She just needed to put on a poker face and put on her best acting to show that she was volunteering to side with Leonard.“Your highness, we have arrived,” said Maria, interrupting Astrid's daydream. The carriage’s door opened, and a knight led and helped Astrid off the horse carriage. The maids and footmen were lined up and bowed to pay their respects.“The king is asking for your audience, Your Highness. I will escort you to his
Where was this? As far as the eye could see, only darkness was visible. Nothing could be seen but a vacuum in the darkness. Amid the silence, Draco could hear the wind blowing through the gaps. Was this place hell? Or not? Draco had no idea. He vaguely could not remember what had happened before he passed out.Draco was wrapped in a cocoon shining with magical energy flowing from the Mana Tree. His heart was still twitching faintly while the Mana Tree energy was knitting magic within the borrowed dragon’s heart from Jergintarth. Draco felt so comfortable that he curled up on his knees, not wanting to open his eyes and forget everything. Inside the Mana Tree trunk, Draco could not detect how much time had passed."Draco... Draco... Wake up..."A distant echo was echoing within the space inside the mana tree trunk. It sounded like the sound of the wind having tones and blowing among the leaves."Dragon’s Prince... wake up..."Draco
Western Frontier Region. The Barnabas Kingdom. The makeshift barracks made of tarpaulin tents were full of people passing by. People could see several people dressed in medical clothes wearing masks walking back and forth bringing medical equipment. Some of the injured patients with shredded flesh groaned in pain. Spilled blood seemed to soak the floor. A pungent fishy smell from the patient's rotting wounds wafted through the barracks. The condition of the western frontier regieon looked miserable and terrible. Despair was everywhere. Many commoners and border guards were seriously injured. The corpses were piled together and burned before decomposing even more. They had to do that to prevent any disease that might infect healthy people. The inhabitants of the western territory border did not have time to bury those who were dead. Every day they faced terrifying war situations. Their focus was only one, which was survival.Edmund walked fast on his horse. He br
Zach dashed out of the castle, followed by his guests from the duchy of Brighton. He rode his horse at high speed towards the fortress. He saw for himself knights and commoners running in fear in the opposite direction Zach was aiming for.The sky was dark, and black clouds rolled over the frontier fortress. From within the black cloud appeared gigantic winged demon-beasts. The demon-beasts have long, dirty claws, leathery wings, and rows of razor-sharp teeth. When wounded, they bleed black acid. The archers and snipers had tried to fire at the winged demon-beasts, but their skin was too thick for the arrowheads to penetrate.Zach watched wide-eyed with great fear as the army of archers broke apart and was slaughtered helplessly. The horse on which Zach was riding lifted his feet in the air while neighing in terror. The horse threw Zach down to the ground, then ran helter-skelter away from the slaughter arena, leaving Zach there alone.Zach saw one by one the ar
Zach worked fast and efficiently. He immediately created several powerful long-range weapon designs with the head knights in the Barnabas kingdom to strengthen the defenses in the border area. They took the carcass of a winged demon-beast that was still good enough to study the thickness of the skin and any weapons that could injure the skin with a few experiments. The research team was formed with a mixture of the human, elf, and dwarf races to determine an effective weapon for fighting demon-beasts.So far, the factor of human defeat laid in the human weapon that was incapable of injuring the demon-beast skin. Let alone penetrating the demon beast's skin, the sword that the knights pierced immediately broke and melted because of the black, acidic blood. Benji discussed with Prince Zach and King Ruven Omanelis. So far, the elven arrows made by the Dwarves had penetrated the demon beast's skin, but that was not enough. It took purification magic power to kill the demon-beasts
King Edgar Barnabas looked at Edmund's face curiously. From a very long time ago, he was a reliable trader and liked to collect antiques. Sometimes he came to black-market auctions to hunt for rare items that were considered lost and destroyed in Magica. Since Edmund's appearance, he had felt that Duke Brighton's face was very familiar, even though he could say this was the first time they had met."Is there anything you want to say to me, Your Majesty?" asked Edmund, noticing as King Edgar Barnabas kept his eyes fixed on his face. He had tried to ignore it, but King Edgar's gaze was so deep and it made Edmund felt uncomfortable from being stared constantly by the king.“Uhm, I beg your pardon?” asked King Edgar Barnabas.“It seems that you have something in your mind, Your Majesty. Do you mind if I ask?” asked Edmund tried to rephrase his previous question.“You are so mysterious, Duke Brighton. This is the first time we met
Count Barney was huddled in a dungeon cell that was damp, dark, and foul-smelling. Lichens and mold were everywhere. His own body odor smelled bad, considering he hadn't showered in days. Dirt littered the corners of the prison, for Count Barney had paid no heed to cleanliness. His body, which was once fat and distended, at that looked thin, only bones wrapped in skin. Some of the prisoners who came from the magic tower that had been locked up with him had long been released. Only he remained in the dungeon in the Brighton Duchy. No one came to save him. He had made a terrible mistake daring to break into the Brighton area. Now, no one knew where he was. Maybe he would die to rot in this prison.Damn woman! All of Count Barney's bad luck started with a damn slave girl who ran away from his room that night. If the slave didn't escape, he might never end up in this pitiful dungeon. In a lonely prison without anyone accompanying him, it wasn't easy to keep his mind sane.
Weeks after the great war ended, Draco was still lying unconscious. Albus had placed Draco's body in the lake in his lair to speed up the healing process. However, Draco's body was exhausted from the excessive use of the dragon's magic power. Plus, his body still needed to adapt and blend perfectly with The Heart of Magic.Outside, the leaders of each clan were busy checking the damage in each area. First, they made sure there were no demons left. Their next focus was on rebuilding their respective areas to be habitable. Survivors from various clans and races worked for hand in hand to build their respective areas. In each area, dragons were seen to be involved in rebuilding life in Magica. As Draco continued to be unconscious, Zergenth took temporary leadership of the dragon clan. All dragons obeyed and followed his orders without exception. Zergenth built cooperation between races represented by each of the leaders who contributed to the war. Elves, Dwarves, Fairies,
Melted corpses and melted flesh splattered on the ground. The sight was so terrible. Meanwhile, Asmoday laughed hissingly so loud that the ears that heard his voice bleed from the ruptured eardrum. His tail fluttered and crushed many people around him to death.“Take cover! Take cover!” shouted the troop leader while frightened ran away. The dragon army immediately moved to form a magic shield and protect the people around him."'Dovah spaan!" said dragons from many places."Dragon shields!"Genbu growled to create a layer of magic shield that protected his massive body.“Holy Iiz Spaan!” said Albus with a thunderous voice.“Holy Ice Shield!”Instantly a sheet of ice covered the air like a transparent roof over the sky. Albus looked up at the sky and noticed a black cloud source of Asmoday's poison rain. He aimed his power at the black cloud and refined it with his snow-white power."H
The sky shone golden, glistening dazzlingly from end to end of the sky. There was the roar of dragons rising from all directions shouting at each other. The sky, the land, the sea, trembled with the roar of the dragons that one by one rose from their long slumber. It was a historical phenomenon of dragon awakening; after hundreds of years, it was declared extinct. The incident was thrilling and made the body goosebumps because of the extraordinary sense of emotion and admiration. A glimmer of hope appeared in the hearts of the people of Magica as the rising sun warmed the hearts of those who were in despair. It was epic! From the desert direction, Radcliff was galloping towards the Fortis Royal palace. Several times he was seen teleporting to move places. Finally, Urvath, the Fire Dragon, flew behind him, grabbed Radcliff's body, and threw him onto his back."Whoaaa!" cried Radcliff in surprise, but he immediately smirked at the sight of who had thrown his body
"You're still alive, Astrid?" Draco asked, crying with relief."Listen to me. We don't have much time! You must attack this skeleton dragon with full strength and take back The Heart of Magic,” said Astrid. She didn't answer Draco's question. Astrid herself wasn't sure if she was alive right now or not."But what about you?" Draco asked worriedly."I will be fine. Focus on defeating the skeleton dragon first,” Astrid said with a hint."How to? This monster is immune to magic elements! Being physically attacked isn't that effective either!" Draco exclaimed as he jumped out of the way.“The weakness is the White Dragon's purification snow. The Heart of Magic can create it as long as you remember how to use the magic,” said Astrid."I remember. But how to use The Heart of Magic?” Draco asked, confused.“Through me, your amicus. Our souls are connected through magic contracts, and I am currently one wit
Inside the palace of the Fortis Kingdom.Astrid's human form had been torn apart. With a dense aura of darkness, the Skeleton Dragon attacked Draco fiercely on the red carpet covered in dragon blood belonging to Draco's birth mother. The dragon made of bones opened its mouth and charged fiercely. Draco dodged to the side, but the skeleton dragon quickly wagged its tail and slammed Draco's body hard, right in the stomach."Urgh..." Draco groaned as his body trembled in pain.Draco was too shocked and froze to comprehend the situation. His body was easily thrown so hard that his back hit and smashed the palace wall, causing the wall to crack and the chunks to fall to the floor. Draco's body fell to the floor on the red carpet covered in blood with his face down. He groaned in pain while half-huddled on the floor, trying to get up to dodge the next attack quickly. The carpet, which was sticky and wet with the blood of the dead dragon, made Draco's body drenc
Fortis Royal Palace courtyard.Edmund tried to crawl out with all his might from within the black magic circle containing the cursed Mana Tree. Unfortunately, the circle absorbed his power very quickly. He couldn't use his magic power because the black magic circle must have absorbed his power faster. Edmund had to free himself from that cursed circle first.Outside the magic circle, Andras was battling Sir Gale Gallahan and Benji. Meanwhile, a group of demons that kept coming fought against the combined forces of elves, dwarves, and humans. Demons have killed many. The look of despair was evident on the faces of the remaining soldiers. Even so, they refused to run away and chose to fight valiantly to the last drop of blood. Their sacrifices would probably be in vain if the situation continued like this. Soon they lost badly. Edmund must immediately help and free himself.Edmund cursed himself. How could he so recklessly fall into the enemy's trap?Andras
Albus listened pensively to Lycus Lewis' story. Albus's mysterious gray eyes looked so beautiful.“Now, do you know the location of Genbu?” asked Albus with a deep look."Yes, I know. I've put a magic tracker on Genbu's body,” answered Lycus Lewis."Then let's go find Genbu first," said Albus deciding."I'll accompany you," answered Lycus Lewis, nodding in agreement.“Sure,” Albus said calmly. He then walked ahead of Lycus Lewis.A mysterious aura and majestic enchanting charisma radiated in Albus' every move and step. The man wore an all-white shirt with gold, silver, sky blue, green, red threads embroidered on his robes. Albus' straight platinum blonde hair was left loose. Albus stepped out of his dragon lair. He lifted his head and tried to take a deep breath, then felt the temperature around him while closing his eyes.Lycus Lewis appeared behind him, trying to move silently, not wanting to disturb th
Towards the White Dragon's Lair.Lycus Lewis continued to the less populated northern area. The ridge to the top of the mountain was filled with fog at night, snowing. The air at the top of the mountain was very thin, and the cliffs were so steep that it was difficult for humans to climb to the top of the mountain. It was one of the most favorite places for the White Dragon to hide in the area.Following directions from Zergenth, Lycus Lewis walked through the forest in the mountains. In the middle of the cliff, there was a stream of river water at the bottom of the ravine. In the middle of the cliff was a hole that led to a cave. The hole was big enough for the dragon's body to enter. Lycus Lewis descended the precipitous cliff, holding on to and resting on the rough protrusion of the cliff face. The inside of the cave was very dark. Lycus groped in the darkness. He tried to stand up and walk, but his leg fell to the ground. Finally, he decided the safest way,
Lycus Lewis teleported into the air. He scanned Genbu's location and tried to get there. Since the location was quite hidden, he had to use several pinpoints to move there. The closer he got, the darker the aura grew. Inside his head, Lycus Lewis cursed because his guess seemed to be proven right.“Please, let my guess be wrong. I don’t want any other people die," Lycus Lewis muttered to himself. He flew through the air and hovered in search of Genbu's figure. He teleported several times until Genbu's figure was seen within close range.Lycus Lewis managed to get close to Genbu's location, but his surroundings were filled with dense darkness and a suppressing black magic aura. From afar, he could hear Genbu wailing in pain. The giant tortoise's body was trapped in a black ball of energy that hurt him. Genbu wriggled, trying to free himself, but his body couldn't escape. On Genbu's back, the Mana Tree was stained with dark energy. The leaves and flowers of t
