Chapter 20: Old Friend

Astrid ran as fast as she could. She tried to leave the Lavender field that laid behind her. Something was not right. Why did the sky suddenly darken and her friends disappeared without a trace?

Astrid ran on and found herself at the edge of the forest. There was a sound of wood crackling. There was a bright reddish light rising into the night sky. An orphanage building was on fire. The fire exploded and burned the entire orphanage, devouring the entire building. People were running around in complete panic. Several corpses laid buried in the rubble.

Where was this? Why was this scene so familiar to Astrid? It was as if this sight had ever seen by Astrid before. Another déjà vu. Was this a nightmare? Was this a hallucination? Was this vivid imagination? Was this real? Astrid didn't know. Whatever it was, she had to immediately find her comrades.
