Chapter 4: Her Bold Side.

"My Lord, I need to use the restroom. Now if you please.. " 

Hearing this, he immediately let go of her hand and she excused herself making her way to the bathroom.

A few minutes later, Mr Lopez got an important call for which he excused his way out.

Genevieve washed her face. The things on the lunch table were getting intense between Mr Lopez and Nathan.

He wasn't saying anything but he was infuriated.

Mr Lopez, on the other hand, was way too sweet.

Walking out she bumped into Mr Lopez and he asked, "Oh, Genevieve. May I escort you back in again?" 

Both of them walked back into the business lunch, all smiles.

And Nathan had this hard-line across his forehead. 

"So, Mr Lopez. What do you think? When should we begin work?" Nathan asked casually sipping his drink?

"Mr Blackmark, give me a day. I will inform you by evening."

Nathan and Genevieve went back to the office together.

She was sitting on the passenger seat because Nathan cannot make her sit next to him.

The time was almost done for the shift and she wrapped up the files.

"Come on, Genevieve. Let's go to have dinner." Lucy suggested and she agreed.

The colleagues in this company were friendly and their nature was also good.

Standing in front of the mirror, she combed her hair while Lucy was applying lipstick.

Then Lucy asked her to open the two buttons of her shirt and Genevieve was not sure about it.

They were outside the office building and waiting for a cab. Nathan Blackmark was passing by her and the flowery fragrance came across his nostrils.

He turned his neck to look at the face and was expressionless.

She had just flipped her blonde hair, the red lipstick on her face was so bold...it gave her a hot look.

He walked to her and uttered, "What is this behaviour, Ms Harper?"

"What?" she asked, unaware.

"Why are you dressed like this?" he asked, a hard line across his forehead.

"Why not? Perhaps, you don't know what going to a club feels like. I'm about to party tonight, Nathan Blackmark."

He had just parted his lips to speak when she immediately blurted out, "I am not in the office with you. So I guess you can't question me outside the working hours."

In a moment, rage engulfed him.

He could not speak as the taxi had arrived and the girls walked in so did Genevieve.

Nathan raked a hand through his dark brown hair, the edges of his cheeks clenched aggressively.

Genevieve went to the club with Lucy and her friends. 

She and the girls had some fruit cocktails. The environment of the club was quite fun and they enjoyed a good time.

Just then the club grew silent, the music was nowhere to be found. 

The sound of the shoes hoofing, a man entered. Tall and handsome with broad shoulders, all eyes on him.

Within a blink of an eye, he commanded the attention of everyone there.

Genevieve turned around to see as she chokes on the drink from her mouth and gulps.

It was her arrogant boss, Nathan Blackmark.

But what was he doing in a local club?

Lucy and her friends were too drunk to notice him but Genevieve was in her senses.

She turned her face away, trying to stay hidden from her boss's glares.

But he somehow caught her. Gazing directly in her eyes, he had a questioning look.

He was sitting on a leather sofa and was presented with drinks and the manager himself was serving him.

After a few drinks, Genevieve began to feel tipsy.

Suddenly the world around her started to whirl, the bright yet dim lights of the club suddenly became to fade away, within a moment she felt her knees weak as jelly and losing her balance to stand still.

Two boys who were having fun in the club laid eyes on her and went to talk to her.

"Yo, girl...your sexy ass needs a lift home?" asked one of the bad boys, rubbing his chin slowly, he winked at her while the other guy chuckled hilariously.

She squinted her eyes, suddenly a rage of anger rushed down her veins.

However, she tried to remain still on her feet when she stepped forward and before she could raise her hand to slap them when her feet tripped and she was just about to fall when a hand caught her wrist.

Within a blink of an eye, she was being dragged by a strong force and she bumped into his hard rock chest.

He kept her behind him and lifted his head to look directly in their eyes.

"Oh, the charming prince comes to save the damsel in distress." joked one of the men.

Scoffing he answered, "Or, a lover came to rescue his betrothed…"

Another moment and both the guys stepped forward to hit the Lord, Nathan Blackmark.

Then the sound of his knuckles cracking was heard by the bad boys, then gulped before making the first move to hit him.

"I'm going to kill both of you," Nathan snarled.

He attacked with a big right overhand punch. The guy stepped out of range, but before he could bring his hands up to defend, Nathan drove his shoulder into his chest, slamming him into the wall, where he started landing solid punches into his gut.

He lunged, swinging and missing. He slammed him into the wall. Then he was burying punches, over and over again.

Then Nathan pulled another guy into his fistfight, thinking of him nothing but a punching bag.

While all of this was happening, the club was in another mess, people were running out of the club, trying to save their lives.

The manager was trying to stop the boss, Nathan Blackmark and his guards were too.

Genevieve was taken out with the help of his bodyguards while he warned the two and boys in his usual scary voice, "Next time if you try to scare any other girl, just remember this face."

Nobody knew what Nathan did but after the guys saw something unusual on Nathan's face, horror took over them and they ran away, tripping over the floor.

He shrugged his shoulder, looking around he lifted his eyebrows in a little surprise realising the amount of mess he has created.

The whole club was turned upside down, the wooden chairs and tables were broken, the glasses of the bottles of wines spread on the floor.

The manager gave him an upsetting look to which he answered, "Don't worry, my men will help you with the place."

He stepped out of the club and noticed Genevieve was standing right outside, leaning back on the wall.

"Why is she still here?" he turned to ask his bodyguard who showed a respected courtesy before speaking, "My Lord, she is not coming. She said she wants to talk to you."

The manifestation look Genevieve gave him when he stepped forward to her and uttered, "Ms Harper, you don't need to thank me for…"

"Actually...I am here to…" before she could finish her sentence, she tottered on her heels and he caught her right on time.

"Damn, if you don't know how to stand still, then you shouldn't be drinking!" he exclaimed, pulling her closer to his body and she snuggled with him, eyes closed.

"If you don't know how to treat a drunk lady, then you should leave me alone."

Rolling his eyes he asked the driver to open the door for him.

Carrying her on his arms, he safely put her on the backseat of his SUV van and turned around to notice the bunch of news reporters clicking pictures of him and this made him angry.

He hopped in the car to close the door and sat next to the girl who was sleeping.

"Sir, where do we take her?" asked the driver, pulling over the car.

Nathan let his expensive iPhone out and dialled Crawford's number.

The bell was ringing but he didn't answer the phone.

Meanwhile, at NBM Corporations, Crawford was standing respectfully answering a female.

She was sitting on Nathan's chair, drumming her perfectly manicured fingernails on the wooden table.

"So, how is he doing, Crawford?" asked her.

"My lady...he is doing just fine. However, a little aggressive."

"Perhaps, we need to make him a little busy with his work. Don't you think?" she asked, letting out a side lipped smile.

"What do you have in mind, my Lady?" Crawford asked attentively.

After a few minutes, he handed the phone to her, and she spoke, "Hello, Mr Langford. My name is Raya Blackmark. I'm speaking from NBM Corporations and I have a little addition to your offer which can make you interested…" she had a prize-winning smile on her face as she talked.

After disconnecting the line she finally heaved in a sigh to utter, "My work is done, now. Crawford."

Stunning back on her seat, she twitched her lips when she heard what Crawford asserted.

"My lady, what if Lord Nathan doesn't like what you did?" 

"You and I, we both know that he needs to expand his business and this is a very promising offer, Crawford."

"How many people are at his service, by the way?" she asked curiously to which he responded, "Two."

"Two? Crawford, don't tell me our Lord is at two people's mercy only?"

"I can arrange that, for sure...My Lady."

At the same time, in Blackmark mansion, Nathan was carrying the drunk sleepy girl in his arms, making his way up to his room.

"My Lord." an old woman dressed in a maid's uniform bowed down to him, her facial expressions were astonished.

"Where is Crawford? Nancy! Call him at once!" even carrying a girl to his bedroom, he was yelling in anger.

He had just stepped up the stairs and was a few steps away from his bedroom when he realised that this girl was only his assistant and it was not appropriate to take her to his room.

Turning to his left, he took her to another room and placed her gently on the bed.

He turned around to go out when a hand caught his wrist, he sighed deeply.

"What do you want, Ms Harper?" he asked, turning back to face her.

There she was, half sleepy with her eyes shut when she mumbled something in a very low voice.

"What did you say?" he asked, scrunching his nose.

Crouching towards her, he listened to what she was saying.

"My...my parents. They died because…"

His expressions changed into a pity one when he softly asked, "How did they die?" 

"My...parents…died because...because…."

"Uncle Sam…" she muttered under her breath.
