Once again, Seraphina’s breath hitched and she hesitated, Bethel stepped back into line and urged Seraphina forward gently with her hand. Just as she was about to step, Lady Persephone shrieked, “Your Highness, she is but a lowly servant, a slave even, you cannot let her touch you, who knows what disease she may carry”. The Prince rose an eyebrow as if he were amused, “Really Lady Persephone, well my Vampire body is far more tolerant than a humans, any disease she may carry will not affect me. Besides, does she not touch you?”
“Well...Yes she does work on me from time to time.” said Lady Persephone, clearly flustered and embarrassed to admit she wasn’t a total natural beauty.
Seraphina suppressed the urge to roll her eyes, Lady Persephone kept Seraphina most nights perform youth and beauty songs for her.
“Well then Lady Persephone, if she is good enough for you, then she will be good enough for me” the Prince said in a sharp voice. He turned his gaze back to Seraphina and gestured her to come forward. “What is your name Dhampir?” the Prince asked softly. Lady Persephone was visibly taken aback at the manner in which the Prince addressed Seraphina.
“Seraphina my Prince” She answered bowing, keeping her eyes to the ground.
The Prince froze for a second and cast a glance to the King and Queen, their faces remained expressionless betraying nothing. “Come here Seraphina” the Prince softly asked. Seraphina walked to the Prince, she could feel her skin getting hotter the closer she got to him. “If it is not too much trouble Lady Seraphina, could you please sing me a song, I am very tired following our travels today”. Seraphina knew the Royal Castle was barely half an hour away from the Manor but, she obliged anyway.
She knelt down in front of the Prince, her long hair falling forward like a curtain, ready to start her song when suddenly, a hand reached out and gently grabbed her chin lifting her eyes to meet his. At that moment of contact, electricity flowed all through Seraphina setting her skin and body alight, she felt a deep hungry fire churning in stomach.
What was this feeling? It appears the Prince felt it too, as her eyes met his, his chest rose quickly with a sharp intake of breath. They seemed to gaze into each other's eyes for what felt like an eternity, Seraphina could feel the eyes of everyone in the room on the pair but, for the first time, she didn’t care. She couldn’t bring herself to look away. Instead, she reached up to her face and gently held the strong hand he had placed under her chin in both of hers and pulled it to her chest.
The song only required for their hands to be touching but, she couldn’t help herself, she wanted to keep the Prince as close to her as possible as she knew this moment of serenity would be brief. She decided, no matter how many lashings she received for this, all would be worth it for her heart to feel this full, even if only for a moment. She stared into the Princes golden brown eyes for another moment before starting her enchanting song.
"O Ventus ex Deo,
Quod spiro vitam in corde meo,
O Deus de aqua,
Pulchritudo adducere ad me:
O ignis a Deo,
Adolebitque omnia praeterita peccata,
O Dei in terris,
Arma tua suscipe me,
O Ventus ex Deo,
Asportare meas pugnam,
O Deus de aqua,
Doloris mei: sana me,
O ignis a Deo,
Fenera proximum tibi fortitudinem meam,
O Dei in terris,
Da mihi ad vitam "
With that, Seraphina’s song ended, tears brimming her eyes. Her perfect moment was gone as quick as it came. She cast her eyes back down and rose to stand but, the Prince did not let go of her. Those hot sparks were still coursing through her, she wondered did the Prince feel it too. From aside, she heard the Queen sigh as though she was lost in memory. “You sing just like your mother” the Queen spoke.
There were scattered gasps all around the room, everyone believed Seraphina to have been an abandoned baby, how would the Queen of all people know her mother? Despite the Queen’s words, Seraphina still couldn’t bring herself to take her eyes off of the Prince, it seemed he felt the same as his gaze hadn't left hers, an undecipherable look on his face.
Next to him, Princess Aurelia chuckled “I told you brother, you would know as soon as your eyes met”. Seraphina was confused by her words. The Prince who had been silent up until now suddenly spoke “My soul recognises yours, my Princess.” With those words, Seraphina was snapped out of her haze and immediately cast her eyes down, she tried to retrieve her hands but, the Prince kept a gentle but firm hold of her. “I-I, you must be mistaken my Prince, I am a lowly servant, not a p-princess,” Seraphina forced the words out of her.
She tried to retreat again but, instead the Prince pulled her into an embrace and planted his lips softly against hers. Seraphina had never been kissed before and she didn’t not know how to react. The Prince wrapped one arm around her small waist and pressed the other into the back of her neck urging her to open up to him. He deepened the kiss and the rest of the room fell away as she melted into him.
Suddenly, she was brought out of her moment of heaven by a hand dragging her away from the Prince by her hair, she was suddenly thrown across the floor by Lady Persephone. “You wretched whore!” She boomed, “How dare you place your lips on those of his Highness, you have put him under your spell you filthy witch! I will have you lashed a thousand times for this, you will not see another day, how dare you embarrass this hou-” Lady Persephone was suddenly cut off by Princess Aurelia holding a sharp silver blade to her throat as two Royal Guards restrained Lady Persephone.
Bethel, Rose and Melanie rushed to Seraphina’s side to help her up but the Prince was already there, holding her gently at arm's length and inspecting her to see if she was injured. Seraphina's eyes spilled over with tears as the Prince tried to kiss each of them away. “SEE! SEE! She has him entranced! That dirty little slut” Lady Persephone's taunts were immediately replaced by wailing as Princess Aurelia dragged her sharp blade down Lady Persephone's face from her eyebrow to the corner of her mouth in a crescent shape. “The only slut present is you Lady Persephone” spat the Princess “Don’t you dare speak ill of my brothers fated Princess.” The whole room was silent, everyone except the King and Queen wore a look of utter shock. Even Lord Isiah hadn’t spoke up or attempted to aid his wife.
“Are you okay? Please tell me you're okay” the Prince whispered cupping Seraphina’s face gently in his hands. Seraphina nodded and the Princes face lit up as he continued to shower her face with small delicate kisses. Seraphina felt deeply embarrassed by the situation and kept trying to bow her head but, the Prince would not see her eyes lowered. “You will never look down again, do you understand me?” the Prince asked softly. Seraphina shook her head; she did not understand what the Prince meant.
The events that had quickly unfolded in the last hour had left her dumbfounded. The Prince sighed as a look of hurt flashed across his face. He turned to Bethel, Rose and Melanie and asked “Please can you fetch my Seraphina’s belongings? She will be leaving with me to the Castle immediately.” The women seemed just as dumbstruck by the situation and stared back at him blankly. Finally, Bethel spoke up “she has no belongings your highness”. “Not even the dress on her back is hers” Rose said sadly. This time, the Prince looked angered but, not at the girls. He turned his head to face his sister where she was standing with Lady Persephone “Dispose of her and take your time, him too” he said to Princess Aurelia as he nodded towards Lord Isiah. All colour visibly drained from Lord Isiah’s face. “She did not act alone” the Prince said. Lord Isiah shook his head and tried to stand but a Royal Guard drove a dagger through his hand pinning him to the table leaving his cries to echo out around the courtyard.
The Princess smiled widely and ran her tongue across her sharp glistening fangs. “Finally, time to have some fun.” she said wickedly. The Prince brought his attention back to the Seraphina and suddenly removed his cloak. He turned her around and produced a sword from his belt. Seraphina froze as he delicately ran the blade up the back of the dress cutting it off and revealing her perfect olive toned skin underneath. His eyes cast down to her rear and he felt his pants tighten in response. He gulped loudly and wrapped his cloak around her letting the rest of the dress fall away. As he turned her back around, he saw the mark of the dragon peeking out of the cloak that was balanced on her shoulders. “So, you do bare the mark of the dragon” he said with a smile. His mother, the Queen tur
Seraphina didn’t have time to react to hearing the Prince’s pet name for her as when the Prince stepped out of the carriage with her in him arms once again, she was greeted by the beautiful marble castle that stood before her. She gasped as she took in her surroundings, she took a moment to let her eyes scan all around her. From the tall marble turrets beautifully decorated with gold to the perfectly manicured gardens filled with tall blossoms trees that released little pink petals as the wind gently blew. Her eyes were wide brimming with wonder, she looked further and saw rose bushes, lilies and all other kinds of flowers she didn’t even recognise. It was like nothing she could have ever dreamed. The Prince watched her with curiosi
The Prince stepped out of the water and wrapped a towel around his waist. He held out the other towel for Seraphina to step into and draped it around her shoulders. The Prince leaned forward and placed a sweet kiss on Seraphina’s head, he then scooped her up into his arms and proceeded to walk through the gardens towards a large stone staircase at the back. “These are my quarters... and yours if you wish to stay here”. The Prince studied Seraphina’s face trying to understand what she was thinking, he could feel that she was happy though still hesitant about something. The more time he spent with her, the stronger their soul connection was getting. He loved her before she was even born, the feelings he had for her went beyond love. He would do anything and everything in his power to make her happy and to bring her peace. He would give her any riches she wanted, as many children as she wanted, all the lands he possessed, she owned
Achilles carried Seraphina through the Palace in his arms despite her protests that she can walk, after a short while, they reached a grand golden archway in the left wing of the Palace. Achilles nudged the door open with his foot and stepped inside still carrying Seraphina. Seraphina was surprised to see Bethel, Rose and Melanie seated there. They had changed clothes and were dressed in beautiful, modest gowns. A far cry from the ugly servants' uniforms they had spent their lives wearing. What was even more surprising was, they were all sat drinking tea and laughing with the King and Queen!Achilles walked to the table and gently sat Seraphina down in a tall, ornate chair. He took the seat next to her and nodded to Bethel, Rose and Melanie. The three of them stood and bowed in return, “No need for formalities ladies, we are practically family n
Seraphina had indulged herself far too much, as soon as she ate one thing off of her plate, Achilles was sure to replace it with something different. By the end of the tea, she was sure she had tasted everything there. She had never eaten so much before and had never experienced the feeling of fullness. A wave of tiredness suddenly hit her and she fought hard not to slump in her seat. Achilles was immediately aware of Seraphina’s fatigue and prepared to make their exit from the afternoon tea. Achilles was about to speak up when Narcissus suddenly started “Child, you look utterly exhausted!” he said to Seraphina. “Achilles, what are you doing keeping your Princess here, take her to rest at once. From tomorrow, she has 18 years of living to make up for”.Achilles rolled his eyes at his father. “If you will excuse us,
Seraphina’s body contorted and she thrashed around the bath as pearlescent scales began to replace her flawless olive skin. Seraphina’s body started to elongate and as she clambered out of the bath and threw herself onto the cold marble bathroom floor. Her back hunched painfully as wings began to sprout from her shoulder blades and a long, smooth, pointed tail replaced her perfect rear. Seraphina clutched at her jaw as she felt her sharp fangs replace her teeth, she caught sight of her hands morphing into silver claws and she screamed in panic only to her a low rumble.Seraphina collapsed back onto the ground in a heap and soon, she felt the pain begin to subside. “Seraphina....Seraphina, can you hear me my sweet flower?” The voice sounded far away, as though she was hearing it through a tunnel. Seraphina tried to concentrate o
Seraphina too was surprised, she had never even touched a man before Achilles yet, she was exploring him and tasting him as though it was second nature, it was like an instinct to pleasure her Prince. Suddenly, Achilles shot up and picked up Seraphina by her waist and brought her to his face, Seraphina wrapped her legs around his neck in response and a small cry escaped her mouth as he began to lap up the nectar that she was dripping for him. He slowly lowered her onto the bed, his lips not breaking contact with her sweet little flower and he proceeded to suck and lick her bud. Within seconds, stars danced across Seraphina’s vision as a wave of an orgasm came over her, she cried out loud and pushed her hips up to Achilles. He did not relent though, continuing to flick his tongue through her soft folds as her moan's continued. As Seraphina’
Seraphina and Achilles walked in a comfortable silence. Achilles tentatively watched Seraphina take in her surroundings, he was in awe as he watched her marvel in the delicate bird song that was floating through the air. His heart swelled as she closed her eyes and tilted her head up towards the sun, drinking it in. She sighed as she felt the warmth on her skin.“You are just perfect” her whispered to her as he leaned over and kissed her cheek. Seraphina smiled gently, “Achilles, I want to know about your life” Seraphina told him. “I’m not sure what to tell you my love, I’ve spent the majority of my life on the battlefront.” Achilles said solemnly. “Why do you insist on going to battle? From what your Mother said, it is not one of your duties as Prince but something you have volunteered to.”
“Do you think it will work?” Seraphina’s eyes followed Isobella as she paced back and forth.
Grief. Bone chilling, stomach turning, blood curdling grief. That’s all Seraphina could feel. She collapsed and let out a wail that sounded almost demonic. She clawed at her naked skin and screamed into the night. Her screeches loud enough to disturb the heavens. Raging fires encircled her like a protective wall. She wrapped her arms around her stomach, feeling empty, hollow, lost. She could hear the sound of laughter, a cruel, demented laugh. Turning her head towards the sound, her eyes reflecting the flames dancing as they were slick with tears. Stepping through the flames, she stalked towards the person laughing at her, her hands partially shifted into the claws of her dragon. Ready to tear out the throats of whoever had dared to mock her.
It felt as though a lifetime had passed by the time they arrived back at the manor. All the while, Seraphina had been calling out to Achilles in her mind, hoping and praying she would hear from him. A response, a whisper, a cough, anything…but nothing came.As the courtyard came into sights, she came to a halt as she hovered in the air, gently allowing herself to descend onto the ground.Cheers erupted as soon as they landed and she was immediately surrounded by anxious and tearful faces. As the mages dismounted with the children, Matteo came rushing over to Seraphina holding a robe open in his arms. Nodding her head at him, she shifted back and shrugged her arms into the robe before tying it in place.
The two older girls looked at each other before settling the babies down and stepping forward, careful to keep the younger girls behind them. Crouching down, they dug their hands into the dirt before looking up at the crowd before them, their eyes glazed over as roots and vines shot out from the ground and began to wrap around the legs of the soldiers, winding their way up around their torso and arms. The vampires among the soldiers made effort to free themselves though, the humans for the most part were completely stuck in place fighting against their little cages.Freeing herself from the vines, Seraphina bent down to get onto their level and opened her palm out skyward. Whispering words in the air, a small handmade doll appeared in her hand as she
A wave of nausea passed over Seraphina as she approached the circle of mages. Swaying on her feet, her hand shot out to grab Aurelia’s arm, steadying herself.“Is everything okay Seraphina?” Aurelia whispered under her breath. She gulped audibly before nodding and gesturing for them to continue forward. The circle of mages parted as Seraphina, Achilles and Aurelia came to meet them. Isobella opened her arms out to embrace Seraphina, as they parted she paused momentarily and cast her eyes over Seraphina’s body. An unsettling look came across her face before she shook it away and gave a solemn smile.“Are you sure it is wi
“Violence will be avoided if possible, our main priority is to get in, get the children and get them out. The mages along with Princess Seraphina will be entrusted with bringing the children back to the manor. Magnus?” Aurelia addressed the solider.“Yes Princess,” the aforementioned stepped forward with a salute.“You will stay here with your men to await their return in case anyone tries to follow. The children will stay the night here with their families, they will be seen to by the palace doctors, Helga and Bethel to see if they require any treatment. You are to guard them at all times. I want 2 soldiers stationed inside each of their rooms and an additional 2 guarding the doors.”
An electric buzz coursed through Thea as the mages chanted their syphoning spell. Seamus had warned her that she would feel the absorption of the magic but, she had no idea it would feel so…thrilling. Butterflies, more akin to flying rocks, danced around in her stomach, a radiant sensation passed through her body, warming her from head to toe.The notion that she was absorbing her father’s magic suddenly occurred to her. She had never felt connected to her parents, having no memories of them whatsoever. Moving to the DeBeaux Angelo manor, she thought she would’ve felt a connection, a spark, something but, she didn’t. It just felt like a house. Now, for the first time, she felt connected, she felt the love her father had for h
“I should have known your father would’ve kept an alter hidden somewhere,” Isobella grinned as she walked into the secret room.
