ALEXA'S POV The next morning, I woke up in a very bad mood due to obvious reasons. After waiting for the whole day yesterday, that jerk Morgan never returned my calls. And for clarity's sake, I was not monitoring the phone every second; I had better things to do. I rolled my eyes in frustration at my inner turmoil. Another headache I was feeling was Julia. She had arrived yesterday, and her incessant blabbering about Morgan made me wince at the memory. She was like a fangirl who couldn't keep calm because she was going to meet her favorite celebrity soon. I got out of bed and headed to the bathroom to freshen up. I brushed my teeth and took a warm bath, after which I went through my regular skin care routine and applied some light makeup, going for a nude but professional look and nothing flashy. I wore a white sleeveless shirt tucked into a navy blue pencil skirt and wore a dark blue coat. I completed the look with my hair made into a neat bun, wearing gold rimmed reading glasses
About one hour later, I walked out of the conference room in confusion. I could not understand what happened just now, the meeting seemed like a one man show. Apart from the detailed proposal I presented in the name of Jones Corp., the remaining companies seemed to have not taken anything seriously. I could only watch in a daze as all my proposals were passed, no questions asked, no amendments needed and the process was so swift that the manner in which my opponents were defeated was like a scene out of a movie. And I didn't know if it was my imagination but I felt as if the project manager and the entire team of the project seemed to be very humble, hospitable and accommodating. I have been in the business world for about 3 years now and this is the first time a new proposal has passed the selection process so fast that it was making my head spin. What was surprising was that this was the Wright Corporation we were talking about. They were strict and carefully went through proposal
MORGAN'S POVI stood in the hallway, dumbfounded by what I had just heard. “Morgan's kisses are so captivating, they take my breath away. He's so huge down there and can be gentle or a beast in bed, making me scream and moan so much that sometimes it takes a toll on my voice, and, oh, I forgot to add. I cannot count the number of times Morgan makes me reach my climax, making me see stars when we do the deed. Most times, I'm so tired afterwards that I can barely walk. Those are her words, and I quote, ” I couldn't help the smile that bloomed on my face as I imagined how mischievous she might look saying such words. She made me want to kidnap her and do wicked things to her. I realized she was not alone in the bathroom and retraced my steps to wait for her in a blind spot. I had intended to talk to her when she came out alone, but she came out with another woman, who said something I didn't quite hear. However, Alexa's response made me pause in my steps. “Stop being silly; what are
ALEXA'S POV “Mr. Morgan is not my type, just as I'm not his type. This was just a mistake," I said, and I saw how his face turned cold, with his eyes as dark as an abyss and emitting a deathly aura. He looked so wicked and dangerous, yet so handsome, like a dark angel. He ran his hand through his hair and looked at me intently. He took in slow and calculated breaths, clenching his fists and releasing them. I realized he must be trying to calm himself down and not flare up at my words. “Did you not feel anything from my kiss?” He asked. His tone was calm, but his gaze was dark, and he seemed to be looking into my soul. This jerk! After abruptly leaving me the other day and also not picking up my calls, he thinks just one kiss would change everything. I know he might have been busy, but what kind of busyness made him not return my calls? For the whole day too, and he was absent from today's meeting just to avoid me. Did he think I was a naive high school girl? “I didn't feel anything
MORGAN'S POV “You are angry,” I deadpanned. Looking at her face, that showed indifference. It was as if anytime I took a step closer to her, she moved backwards, three steps away from me. "Alexa, dear, are you angry because of that?” I asked, looking at her gently. She just turned her head sideways and avoided my gaze. ‘Of course she's mad,’ I thought. The book I read about relationships said ladies loved attention, and I had done the opposite. “I was busy, Love; I left my phone behind. Is that why you are angry?” I saw how she blushed when I called her "love," with her clear eyes widening in surprise, looking at me with such innocence. “But you never called me back. I waited the whole day,” she whined, her head lowered, sneaking peeks at me through her lashes and batting her eyelashes rapidly like a scared kitten. Her every action was like a feather tickling me, sending waves through me, and making me feel giddy inside. ‘She waited for my call; she thinks of me’ I thought hap
Alexa's POV I stared at my reflection in the elevator walls and wanted to bang my head on the wall. I didn't even know if I'd be able to look Peter and the remaining staff on this floor in the face ever again. My shirt looked disheveled, and my hair looked messy, as if someone had run a hand through it several times. That handsome Morgan did it on purpose! “I didn't know calling someone handsome could double as an insult,” the mini imaginary angel on my shoulder said. I flushed in embarrassment, remembering Morgan's kisses and words. Did he really like me? ‘But why me? Someone like Morgan could get any girl he wanted; he had the looks and the money,’ I thought. "Alexa, you slut; after seeing his handsome face, you betrayed us and forgot about our bucket list; don't tell me you're falling for him.” A voice within me spoke, making me shake my head to get rid of my confusing thoughts. The bucket list is on hold, I will just go with the flow; besides, Morgan had not told me word for w
“I miss you too,” I breathed. “So I'll pick you up at seven,” he said. I could feel the warmth in his voice at my answer. “No, don't!” I exclaimed, If he comes to pick me up, what am I going to tell Uncle Randy? I could only already feel an upcoming headache at my uncle's speech if he finds out about Morgan and me.“Why love? I miss you and you miss me; the feeling is mutual, so we have a deal.” He said it cheekily, forgetting the problem at hand. If he came to pick me up, everyone would know, and I didn't know if I wanted people to find out about us now. And what about him? What were his plans for us? Does he even love me?“What happens if everyone finds out? What are we going to say? And what if the outcome is bad?” I questioned him and instantly felt how cold and silent he had become. I could practically feel the cold air he was emitting through the phone. The warmth had completely disappeared from his voice when he asked, “You think it will be bad if people see you with me?” Hi
Alexa's POV I laid in bed wide awake after tossing and turning for about 2 hours and decided to go out and take a walk through the garden in the courtyard. ‘The fresh air might clear my mind and finally help me sleep’ I thought, and I wore a comfortable long straight white dress that reached my ankle and had pockets on the sides, put on some cute fluffy slippers, and made my way out of the room. I had just reached the living room when one of the maids approached me, carrying a box in her hands. “This came for you, ma'am,” she said, handing the box to me. She bowed and turned to go and continue her chores. I frowned as I stared at the box and placed it on the table, finding it strange. I don't remember buying anything. I was not expecting anything from anyone either. Well, let me just take a look. I opened the box and gasped in shock when a necklace made of blue diamonds and sapphire came into view. The rays of the sunset that filtered through the window gave it a dazzling glow as
