*Jiya Pov*
I looked around to find out a few familiar faces and many unfamiliar faces. And then a few pleasant faces and many unpleasant faces in those few familiar faces.
God this crowd is giving me a headache! I thought, shaking my head and felt so weak because of the tablets.
Everyone finally arrived except the Mehra’s. Surprisingly, they all are getting ready at a time because of which I was the one who welcomed everyone.
“Finally!” I mumbled when B’s parents walked down the stairs holding each other’s hands.
“Joshna! You didn’t tell me that you already found a girl for your son, She is beautiful.” One old lady said smiling warmly at me.
Before Madam could reply, I smiled a little and said, “I am just a worker, Madam.”
She nodded and continued her chatter with Mrs.Joshna. I continued to go around ign
*Ajay Mehra Pov*When I heard Ms.Rose words I can’t believe what she is even saying, but then I glanced at Jiya and saw her pale face.“How did she get to know?” Mom mumbled to herself while Mr.Raj saved the situation, and everyone started leaving.“What are you saying, Mom?” I asked her.“Is it true? Poor her.” Dad said, and I can see sadness on his face.I was about to walk towards her, but Mom held my hand tightly in her hold. I glanced at her, but she shook her head.I turned and gazed at Jiya, who is still staring ahead. When everyone left, I started walking, but Mom stopped me again.I heard Raj speaking to her. I held her hand and said, “Let me go!”“No! She didn’t want you to know, and I don’t know why. You cannot upset her by asking anything.” She said in a stern v
*Ajay Pov*I woke up hearing a slight groan and looked up to see Jiya moving a little while gulping for air.I walked outside her room and rushed towards the kitchen and saw everyone sitting down at the table.“You are fired.” I said, looking at Ms.Rose.“Sir... sir I didn’t know.” She stuttered.“It doesn’t matter, she is my wife or not. But you should not do that kind of stunt at all.” I said in a stern voice.“Ms.Rose! You can leave, and we will talk about this later.” Dad said, and she nodded walking away with her friends.“You can also leave, Mr.Raj.” Dad said.“I would like to stay for her, Sir.” He said.“But...” Dad started to say.“He is her friend, Dad. She may need him.” I said, and he nodded.H
*Jiya Pov*I sat on the bed in my new flat and stared at the wall. I glanced around and saw that the room is even smaller than the one in Mumbai.I closed my eyes and leaned on the headboard feeling tired of everything. I never wanted anyone to know about this except Dad, but Mrs.Joshna got to know and then that Rose and now everyone. My parents are busy in having a chat with Raj. He is being such a good friend. My parents need that distraction for now until I pull my thoughts into the right way.“I hate you so much that I wish you are dead”.How can I even say the words like that? Death is not a small thing. It destroys a family within seconds. I closed my eyes scolding myself.I saw how B’s death affected everyone. It is her death, which caused him to take all these steps.I rubbed the new mark I made on my wrist and hissed feeling th
*Jiya Pov*I shook my head and looked around to see that I am sitting in the chair which is in front of the operating theater. When did I come here?Everything was in so rush that I didn’t even know when I reached here. I glanced at my hands and saw blood on them. It is already evening, and the operation is going on.I gulped and looked beside me to see his parents. Mrs.Joshna is crying while her husband is consoling her.I looked ahead to see Mom with a bandage around her head and Dad is carefully holding her hand. I can see tears in their eyes, but they are stopping them.Of course, they are shaken by today’s events, but what I am feeling is the same but guilt is topping the list.“I am sorry, Madam. If it isn’t for me, then he wouldn’t have been here.” I slowly said.“Don’t say like that, Jiya.” She said, r
*Ajay Mehra Pov*“You will be really fine, right?” Mom asked for the millionth time.“I will be, Mom.” I replied, smiling at her when the car stopped in front of the apartment.“Are you sure about this?” She asked again.“Mom! It’s been ten days since I got shot. Don’t worry about me.” I replied and got outside the car, but didn’t let the pain show on my face.“Well let’s go inside. They must be waiting.” Dad said and we three started walking inside.“You are killing me with surprise. What do you have with which she will accept for you to stay here?” Mom asked again.“Knock the door, Dad.” I said, ignoring her question.“What are you doing here?” That’s what she asked opening the door.“Jiya! Don’t tal
*Jiya Pov*I woke up feeling a hand on my stomach, but the touch is also so light that I can move away easily and that’s what I did.He is still sleeping so I chose to get ready and make some breakfast for us. I called Mom and Dad to ask how they are doing there. After I got ready and also prepared breakfast, I walked inside the room and saw him still sleeping.I stood beside him and cleared my throat for a few times, but he didn’t wake up. I slowly slapped on his shoulder, and he immediately sat upright but hissed within seconds. Then I glanced at the wound and saw the bandaging or shall I say trial of bandaging with loads of cotton and no proper covering at all.And now he is in pain thanks to the abrupt getting up. What should I do? I reckoned frowning and finally decided.“Come with me.” I said, and he followed me calmly.
*Ajay Mehra Pov*“Finally!” I mumbled, walking outside the hospital. Now I am completely fine and the doctor said I am good, but just need to continue taking few tablets.I am happy now, but I don’t have anything to blackmail her. I know it is wrong, but at least she is having complete food at all times during this past week.I walked back to our flat and made a decision to rest a little before she returns from the office. From tomorrow onwards, I have to go back to the office and for the first time in my life, I don’t want to.I woke up hearing the front door opening. I sat up and yawned, looking at the time, and heard her speaking to someone.“Raj! I was busy, and that is why I didn’t pick your call.” She said, and I frowned. Why am I frowning? That is what it is going to be right. She is going to meet an amazing guy an
*Jiya Pov*“Five months two weeks.” I continued to chant staring at his back.“Why are you saying that repeatedly?" He asked turning around.“Look at what you are doing.” I replied scolding him, and he turned chuckling.“This is not driving a car, Jiya. This is just cooking.” He said.“And in cooking the whole kitchen can be burned.” I said, rolling my eyes and continued to chant the time left for him to leave. He is really making me mad every second being the thoughtful guy which I never saw even while dating him or even after marrying him.He always used to say ‘Don’t cry at the silliest things.’ But now all he has to say is ‘Cry Jiya’. I shook my head, frowning and scolded the day.Why it should be Saturday and not some other day? He suddenly decided to cook for us
*Ajay Mehra Pov*I walked inside the house slowly to give her a surprise visit after returning from Ahmadabad earlier than what I told her.I held the best sweet in Kolkata safely in my hand and walked inside with faint steps not making any sound. This became her favorite from the time we have been living here taking care of the branch in this city.“Jiya!” I called her not finding her anywhere.I placed the sweets on the table properly not to let the sweet juice in them come outside and started searching for her.I opened the door of our bedroom and saw it empty. I searched everywhere and rubbed my forehead.Where did she go? She took one-week leave from office already right because of the bug when I was in Ahmadabad.“Jiya.” I shouted again and then, I heard the faint sobs.I rushed inside our room and then heard from the wa
*Ajay Mehra Pov*I waited for her to say something else but she didn’t. I took a deep breath and started turning the knob, but stopped hearing her call me again “Ajay!”“What is it Jiya?” I asked her closing my eyes.“Don’t leave me!” she replied in a whisper, and I can’t believe I even heard her.“What?” I asked her in shock losing the grip on my bag but didn’t turn back.“Don’t leave me, Ajay.” she said, and I turned back rushing towards her.She is still sitting on the couch and stared at me when I stood completely near her. My hands shook, but I made them hold her face properly.“Why?” I asked her bending to be on her eye level taking a deep breath.“I love you.” she replied, and I saw tears forming in her eyes.“Yo
*Ajay Mehra Pov*“I need to tell you something.” Jiya said when I lay on our bed.“What is it?” I asked her frowning.“I am dating someone.” She replied, and I looked at her wide eyed.I took a deep breath and asked, “From when?”“From two weeks.” She replied.“But you are still my wife right? Why are you dating already and whom are you dating?” I asked her not at all believing it, but it was hurting.“We are just talking to each other for now, but will go on a real date soon. I know I am still your wife, but you said you will give me whatever I want right?” She asked staring at me in blank expression.“Right! But there are still two more weeks for the time to end. So please don’t do this.” I said pulling her in my arms.“Why?&rdqu
*Jiya Pov*“Oh my god! I can’t laugh anymore.” I said, clutching my stomach hearing the fight between Aunty and Uncle from past half an hour.“I am bored.” Ajay said, rolling his eyes.“Do you know Uncle lied to me saying he is the most helpful husband. I really thought he was.” I said, and Aunty shook her head.“Yeah! He is most helpful in not helping at all.” she said, and I chuckled.“I had so much fun these two days. You both are amazing.” I said, getting up and hugged them both.“You are also amazing Dau... person.” Aunty said, and I nodded frowning. We left the house and reached ours. When we entered, I saw that I have a duty to clean the house today as it is Sunday.I started cleaning while he helped me a little. When everything is over, we had dinner, and I sat on t
*Ajay Mehra Pov*“Ajay!” She called when I am reading some file regarding the meeting we will have tomorrow.“Hmm.” I said not looking at her.“Ajay!” She called again.“What is it, Jiya?” I asked her staring at the file and leaned back to get comfortable on the couch.“Look at me.” She replied.“Tell me what is it?” I asked her looking at an important point.“Fine! You will sleep today on that couch.” She replied and then I heard the door locking.I looked to see her nowhere, and then I saw the door of our room is locked. I sighed and continued to study the file.“You are so busy.” I heard her voice very near after a few minutes, and I got startled.I glanced up to see her sitting beside me. I patted my back and said, “This
*Jiya Pov*“God! Save me.” I shouted, holding my head.“Don’t shout, Jiya.” He said, groaning beside me.“This is all because of you.” I said hitting his shoulder.“How is it my fault?” he asked, holding his head.“Who asked you to buy me ice cream at lunch and then at a movie theatre and then at the park and then at the dinner? And to top off that we stayed under the fake rain.” I replied sniffing.“Well, you made me eat that while you are doing the same, so the blame doesn’t go only on me. We just got flu, so deal with it.” He said, and I closed my eyes with a feel to knock his head with mine.“Let’s drink some milk and take some tablet.” I said getting down.“I am feeling dizzy.” I said, holding the bed.“Let’s
*Ajay Mehra Pov*“Happy second anniversary.” I whispered in her ear and kissed her cheek. She immediately opened her eyes and asked, “What?”“Today is our second-year anniversary.” I replied.“Oh!” She mumbled and added, “I don’t remember at all but how can you remember it. You forgot the first time right?”“I didn’t! I just acted as I forgot, but I didn’t forget it at all.” I replied and turned around to face me within a second.“You are really a great actor.” She said, and I flinched turning away.“Happy second anniversary.” She whispered, placing her hand around me, and I smiled patting it.“Now go to sleep. We have so much to do tomorrow.” I said, looking at the clock that it is past five minutes to twelve.&l
*Jiya Pov*“Jiya! Sit beside me.” Someone said.“No! Sit beside me.” Someone else said.“Actually, I will sit here.” I said, sitting beside Ajay, who is sitting at the end seat. They all nodded and settled themselves while Lily sat beside me. I gave her a slight smile and leaned on Ajay.“Why didn’t you sit with them? I really thought you would.” Ajay mumbled in my ear.“Well, just because I am talking to them nicely doesn’t mean I want to form the perfect bond with them. I am just being nice to them and want to stay as colleagues only.” I mumbled back.“But you used to generally make friends with everyone you meet.” He said and held my hand.“I know and it will take some more time.” I mumbled, and he nodded but hasn’t left my hand.&ldq
*Ajay Mehra Pov*“Are you ready?” She asked for the tenth time.“Coming, madam!” I replied, walking outside the room.“What is this Ajay? This is a very bad habit of yours. You never went this late when we are in Palghar.” She said frowning.“You don’t have any problem in talking about the past?” I asked her surprised.“What should I do? Shall I teleport myself back into the past and change it?” She asked, raising her eyebrow locking the house door.“Well...” I trailed off.“That’s right! I can’t do that, and I think if I talk it out like not giving much importance to it, then it will not matter anything to me.” She said.“So the past doesn’t matter to you at all.” I said driving us.“No!” she said, and I ti
