Everyone is in the house when we arrive, including my father, who is clearly in a very good mood. As soon as we enter the house, he heads towards us.

"My gem, I've missed you so much," he says when he sees me, even though he saw me yesterday. Still, he makes me grin like a fool and melt against his strong arms when he hugs me against him and buries his nose in my hair. He may not officially be my alpha anymore, but my inner child still feels good breathing in his strong, familiar scent.

After hugging me, my dad reaches down and picks Laurie up, making a straining sound as if he seriously can't carry him, "What a big boy! What the hell has your mommy been feeding you?"

Laurie giggles with glee and I try not to pay attention as I watch Daniel come into the house as well and greet everyone, give my mother a hug and go out to the yard where Lucinda and Harry are with the twins.

I plop down next to Carolina on the couch and greet my niece with a kiss on her chubby cheeks before looking

    I spend the rest of the day taking a tour of the whole clan with Laurie. To be honest, it doesn't look as bad as someone might think.
