The following day, I woke up early and made breakfast for Cesare.

I was hoping that I could see Nick while he was out for his walk. I had warmed up to the old man. He was like a grandfather I never had.

I put on the same clothes I'd been wearing on my trip to the cabin. I was running low on changing outfits plus some basics for the pantry.

The day before he had been walking past the cabin around past ten in the morning. And it was almost that time, I rushed to put the kettle on the stove, but a knock came from the door.
