I was furious when I found out she intended to prevent me from getting her pregnant. I suspected that she would try something. Too bad for her, she sucks at lying. Then again, I am a genius when it comes to finding out secrets and interrogating people. Her naive and innocent persona can never hold up against me. I smile to myself as I throw a glance at my future wife sitting beside me at the breakfast table. She is picking around at the food on her plate without actually eating anything. A frown falls to my lips.
“You have to eat or you will get sick.” Her hand freezes in mid-picking and her eyes look up at me in shock. I nod at her plate. “You can’t just push around the food. You have to put it in your mouth, chew and swallow.” Her eyes narrow with anger at my mocking and scornful tone.
