Chapter 61. Determination leads the way

Lawrence scanned the room, his gaze lingering on Luke and the rest were of the wolves in the room.

"Just handling some business," he said, his tone neutral, masking the turmoil within. He couldn't afford to raise suspicions.

Unsure of his next move, and after a little moment of weighing every option on what to do next, Lawrence retreated to his chambers, feeling the weight of their stares on his back.

As the door to his chambers closed behind him, Their grandmother turned to Luke:

"Do you think something serious is going on?"

One by one, the other wolves filtered out, leaving Bella, Luke, and their grandmother in the dimly lit room.

"Only one way to find out," Luke murmured, his eyes following the last person to leave.

Grandma's curiosity was piqued. "What have you got in mind, Luke?" Taking her seat afterward. Bella stood silent, her wide eyes reflecting her unspoken questions. She didn't utter a word, but you could see the thousands of questions that were written on her face.
