Chapter 38 : The entrance of the stranger

Lawrence's POV

"Lawrence, we don't have to waste much time here. Just tell me about your stay in London," Camilla demanded, her frustration palpable in her voice.

As my meal was served, Camilla's eyes never left me, watching every bite I took.

"You seem to be growing more impatient by the minute, Cam. Is this really that important to you?" I asked, sensing her escalating rage and frustration.

She shot me a look of pure disgust, her silence speaking volumes she was only interested in the response I would give to her.

"Well, I've been to many cities, but oddly enough, I've never set foot in London," I said, noticing the shock that flashed across her face.

She clearly hadn't expected that. Her reaction made it evident my statement contradicted whatever she had anticipated and was expecting me to say.

"Are you pulling my leg, Lawrence?" she asked, disbelief etched into her features and her body language.

"Why would I do that, Camilla? Don't you trust me?" I replied swiftly, meeting her
