Camila’s POV

On Informing Dr. Kimber of my readiness to become Lawrence's doctor there was a  a mix of anticipation and uncertainty brewed within me because I wasn't too sure of what the outcome might be,

Dr. Kimber, eyes wide with surprise, asked, "What changed your mind? You were quite unhappy and not interested in this initially."

I hesitated, my voice faltering. "I'll be overseeing his post-surgery sessions regularly, and I can't help but feel a deep sympathy for all my patients. Seeing him fully recover is now my top priority. If that means becoming his doctor, then so be it."

A smile spread across Dr. Kimber's face. "I knew your presence here In this hospital would be invaluable. Thank you, Mrs. Milwer."

I forced a smile as he extended his hand across the exquisite desk in his office.

Leaving his office, I walked down the hospital's elegant corridor towards my own office, thoughts swirling. Had I just made a decision that would turn my life into a nightmare? Could I still ensure my children's safety?

With all these thoughts swirling in my mind, I entered my office, sinking into my chair in deep contemplation.

Less than 30 minutes later, a nurse burst in,

"The patient, Mr. Lawrence, just collapsed! He needs urgent attention and has been taken to the ICU."

I sprang up, adrenaline surging. "Take me to him," I demanded, and we hurried to the ICU.

In my few years of practising medicine, I've never felt such a powerful sense of duty to save a patient. As we entered the ICU, Desmond said urgently, "His blood pressure spiked, and it looks like he's fallen unconscious."

I instantly knew what needed to be done. "Let's place him in invasive blood pressure monitoring," I instructed Desmond.

After performing several critical procedures, Desmond sighed in relief. "He should wake up in a couple of hours. Let's let him rest."

As I gazed at Mr. Lawrence, my mind raced with questions. I couldn't bear to look at him yet I couldn't turn away.

The sight of him weighs me down, and flashes of the past days of our lives together keep coming,

I said to myself, “I can keep looking at him because I don't know what to even think anymore about Lawrence and why I have such a powerful sense of duty towards him,

I then told  the nurse “Keep an eye on him when he wakes up inform Dr Desmond I will be taking my leave now”

I had a few other patients to attend to before I closed for the day.

I put a call through to my sister to hear from my children as I walked down the stairs on my way out of the office to my car.

"Hello dear, I have been expecting your call for some time now. The children have been wanting to speak with you," said my sister.

With a smile on my face, I said, "My dear, I've been fully occupied with work all day and haven't had a free moment. Let me talk to them."

After a joyful conversation with the kids, I drove to the grocery store on my way home. A bit of traffic delayed my return.

Upon arriving, my sister exclaimed, "You look stressed and worried. What's the matter?"

I hadn't realized my worried expression still lingered from the incident at the hospital. "I had a troubling encounter with one of my patients. It's been bothering me for the past few days," I replied.

"You wouldn't believe who is trying to get back into my life," I exclaimed.

My sister, intrigued, asked, "Who is this person causing you such worry?"

Just as I was about to answer, the children came running to hug me, temporarily lifting my spirits.

As we all gathered in the living room to spend some quality time together, I noticed a flicker of curiosity on my sister's face. She was eager to hear what I had to say.

"My dear sister, I find myself at a loss. Lawrence has returned, and I've been assigned as his doctor," I began, my voice tinged with concern. "I fear what implications this might have, especially for the children."

Her expression turned to one of shock. "Lawrence?" she exclaimed incredulously. "You can't possibly have anything to do with him after all he's put you through."

"I know," I admitted heavily, "but avoiding him is proving to be impossible. As the alpha of his pack, his presence looms large, especially in a city like California where his influence runs deep."

"I've decided to keep the children away from him, to keep them safe and ensure he has no part in their lives," I declared firmly.

"But how do you plan to manage that?" she asked, her concern etched on her face.

"I'm not sure yet," I admitted, determination strengthening my resolve. "But I'm committed to ensuring he never crosses paths with my kids."

"Well, I think I might have a plan," my sister said thoughtfully as we moved towards the room, leaving the children in the living room, engrossed in their favourite show.

With a glimmer of hope in my heart, I followed my sister into her room, eager to hear what she had to say.

The atmosphere was tinged with anticipation as I settled onto her impeccably arranged bed. It had been some time since I last visited, and the subtle rearrangements in her room were so obvious because I knew the nook and cranny of my sister's room before leaving for London.

In the reflection of the mirror, I caught a glimpse of my troubled expression,

mirroring the unease that gripped my spirit.

With a determined look on her face, my sister began,

"The full moon is only 12 days away, and I believe there's something you can do to rid yourself of Lawrence."

Intrigued, I pressed her, "What exactly are you suggesting?"

She leaned in, her expression grave yet resolute. "You're his doctor, right?

“ You have the power to prescribe any medication you see fit, right?"

"Yes," I affirmed cautiously.

"During a full moon, werewolves suffer greatly," from the pain of turning

she continued. "If you could administer something to severely weaken his health before he transforms it can deteriorate his health immensely,

I struggled to grasp the implications. "But how would that solve our problem?"

“I asked”?

Her eyes met mine with unwavering conviction.

"Keeping him bedridden for an extended period would give time to work here in California for the stipulated time and plan your transfer to another city”

Stunned by her suggestion,

I sat in silence, grappling with the moral and practical implications of her proposal, feeling adrift in a sea of uncertainty.

Her statement took me into deep thought and I sat there wondering what to do.

"I moved closer to the pillow, craving water. 'Give me some water to drink,' I said, my voice trailing off. My sister passed a glass to me with a thoughtful look.

'What do you think about what I said?' she murmured, handing me the glass.

'I need time to think,' I replied, my mind weighed down by the seriousness of the issue. 'We must find the best solution to ensure the safety of the kids.'

As she sat beside me on the bed, she pulled me into a comforting hug. 'Everything will be alright,' she whispered reassuringly. 'I promise the kids will always be safe in my care.'

Tears streamed down my face as memories flooded back—Lawrence's rejection, his abandonment of me and our child. 'Lawrence will pay for what he's done to me and our children,' I stammered.

All of this poured out in the safety of my sister's embrace.

As my sister and I reluctantly left our restful moment upstairs,

the sound of children's laughter echoed from the living room where they were immersed in their favorite show.

"They're always glued to these cartoons," my sister remarked with a wry smile as we approached.

Leading them to the dining table for a family dinner,

my sister disappeared into the kitchen to serve up our meal.

"How's the admission process for their new school going?" I inquired as we settled down.

"I met with the headmaster today," my sister replied with a glimmer of hope in her eyes as she glanced at Mira,

"and he assured me that all the admission documents will be finalized by next week."

"And what about their new teacher?"

I pressed eagerly, curious about their educational future.

"Not until their admission is complete before I can be opportune to meet her,"

my sister murmured, her tone tinged with anticipation.

"But we're making progress, at least."

After a satisfying meal together,

I escorted the children to their rooms for the night before retiring to my own.

Concerns about Lawrence still weighed heavily on my mind, prompting me to reach out to Raymond for advice.

Certainly! Here's a more intriguing and interesting version of your text:

Raymond's fascination with everything related to Lawrence was palpable.

As he spoke, his bitterness over my reunion with Lawrence was unmistakable. "You should steer clear of Lawrence,

" he exclaimed vehemently. "He has treated you wickedly, and I will do whatever it takes to ensure he stays out of your life." His anger was evident in every word.

His response to my sister's proposal exceeded all my expectations.

Even with the sunshine streaming through the window illuminating the tiles, the hospital room appeared to be freezing.Camilla laid her back on the thin pillows behind her, feeling self-conscious in the poorly woven hospital gown. Her arms were rendered immobile to her body by the metal cuffs whose edges had been tenderising her skin. The sound of chains rattled softly as she moved, trying to get into a position that was not too cramped within the confines. However, her focus was nowhere near her physical discomfort. She was exonerated for poisoning Bella's son. However, her suffering was not finished. Bella’s schemes had left emotional as well as physical scars on her.Camilla hadn’t finished the struggle, however. Her name remained sullied, and there were people in the pack, and even more so in the elders, who were not ready to absolve her. They wanted her to be put away until everyone was sure that there was nothing to be apprehensive about. Lawrence was trying to resist but it was

The sound of machines in the hospital filled the room where Camilla was, still a bit weak but recuperating. She was connected to an IV and had her wrists bandaged due to the straps that had restrained her to the bed—reminders of the fact, that needless to say, she was still considered a criminal and a patient at the same time. The grey hospital gown had been too oversized for her body. There was no mistaking the patience strength in her eyes, the vividness of life that once inhabited her can only be remembered. But Lawrence transcended. He stood next to her bed with his broad shoulders drooping, bloodshot eyes bearing the evidence of sleepless nights. His hand was just above hers, wanting to hold her hand but scared at the prospect of hurting her more. The vow he made to her was that he would bring her justice and that was one vow he would keep. But being here in this common room, looking at her wasting away from a fictitious story, every single second was a shame that he could not es

The heavy door of the female prison traced a long sound down the dark corridor.Camilla sat on the hard, cold mattress, looking at the wall in search of the clusters in it.She had become used to this solitary confinement, this waiting that went for hours in this agonisingly silent place, to the thinking that after all her efforts, it was Bella’s betrayal that would ruin her.Yet deep down, it was not only fear. There was something else. Lawrence was on the warpath. He had sworn an oath to resolve the matter and extricate her from this predicament. There was no option but to endure. However, the fear about the impending threat that had been increasing over the past few days would not go away, even if Camilla wanted it to.The other female prisoners had started to gossip about something different. They would look at her sometimes with suspicion; now, that look seemed more calculated. The security men, too appeared sharper, more alert. Something was in the offing. She could sense it.As

Bella paced around her hospital room and attempted to bite the urge to panic that was building up in her system. She was in the bathroom of Frank's room thinking of how Lawrence had approached her that morning.Frank, on the other side, was not helping her, as he was clenching his jaw, making it difficult for her to ignore the tension building up in her chest.Things were going south, and the efforts of the lawyer representing Lawrence were making the situation worse every moment. She had thought that she could turn the tables—contain the situation the way she always did. Lawrence’s doggedness in wanting to lick Camilla’s accusation clean even the further it was from her was slowly but surely tearing her apart. The lawyer was a brilliant and unbending executioner who had been pricking her for weeks.Bella had not taken him very seriously, as she thought that he would eventually give up on finding any truth. But she did not expect this level of meticulousness. He was starting to dig up

Lawrence perched himself on the edge of the hospital bed, his fingers playing a drumroll along the cold metallic edge. He was cosy in deep thoughts, yet his brain was tyranny, struck with several thoughts at the same time. The young boy who was his child, was unconscious in the hospital, and so many devices were attached to his tiny form. Every beep, every breath, was painful to hear, breaking the heavy silence in the room, indicating the seriousness of the matter. Moreover, there had been additional problems concerning Frank which even the doctors could not explain. The only plausible explanation had been the poison theory up until that point. At least until the head researcher on Frank's case, Dr Nolan had wanted to speak to him privately.Embarrassingly enough, every sensation caused in him was mixed with tension. The chilling thought of Camilla tortured him. She was in a prison cell, waiting for her turn to be acquitted of the charges of poisoning Frank. It had all been Bella’s tr

At the moment her heels clicked on the ground, and the enormous boughs of metal gates crashed behind her, panic coursed through Camilla. The implacable ambience of the barricade encased her in a thick layer of mist. She heard her footsteps bouncing off the walls in the long stretch that had steel-barred cells on all sides. The other occupant who was being brought in looked at her with a fierce intensity that signalled annoyed, hollow, and accusing silence. The door was opened by the guards and she made to come in. Camilla avoided eye contact with her because she looked like trouble.Hours passed, and she was still hearing them constantly bickering about her poisoning a child. She had to remind herself that this was not true. It was a horrible fiction, one that she found herself accusatory burning into the present time because of Bella's machinations. For having allegedly attempted to poison Bella's child, Camilla had lost her freedom and her self-respect.Now, stuck in the exhausted ex
