I had a dream — a dream that left me feeling uncertain if it was a pleasant or a frightening experience. But all I was aware of was the blissful feeling that coursed through me when Steven was with me in my dream.

“Summer, you don’t know what you're getting yourself into. You'd be wise not to have second thoughts about marrying me, because once the vows are said, there'll be no escape from me.”

The pressure of his grip on my waist was comforting, and his eyes were so dark and mesmerizing I felt like I was being pulled in. His voice was low and even, yet each of his sentences was spoken with conviction.

I slapped his chest and gave him a small shove, but I still found the nerve to search his eyes, which were overflowing with unknownness. How could the Almighty create a perfect man whose personality was so haughty and daunting it seemed almost divine?

My face broke into a smile at what he declared, and then I pulled him close and brushed my lips against his.
