After staring at her for a while, I let out a deep sigh. “I already told you, Steven’s got a lot on his plate and we can’t always bother on him.”

My eyes widened in response to her words and I found myself swallowing hard, feeling a sudden rush of panic. “N-No. Why would you even think that?”

As I knelt before her, tears streamed down my face and I tightly embraced her. “That’s not true,” I muttered. “Your dad loves you. He loves you more than you know.”
