Military Drills and Military Di*ks.

The blaring of the wake up call shattered the entire silence of the barracks, pulling groggy and half asleep soldiers from the depths of their slumber. The sun had yet to rise at all, but a lone orange light casts a soft, pale glow over the training grounds.

Groans and heavy sighs filled the air as boots hit the ground, weary bodies slipping into uniforms with mechanical precision. It is what they are programmed to do every morning just before their morning drills and stuffs.

Private, Second Class Mason Campbell adjusted his belt and slung his gear over his shoulders.

He was only in his second year of mandatory service, but the routine was already second nature to him. As he fell in line with the others, his eyes briefly scanned the faces around him. Some were resigned, some irritated, and others, like him, were simply enduring another day, staring to actually adapt to it.

The morning drill commenced under the sharp eyes of the drill sergeants. Orders were barked, and soldiers moved in

That night, as Bethany Worth settles into bed after a long and eventful day, Arthur has gone to get them one extra bottle of wine to celebrate in their room, her phone vibrates on the nightstand. The screen lights up with a call from an unknown number. She frowns slightly, wondering who could be calling this late. After a moment of hesitation, she answers it.“Hello?” Bethany starts cautiously, waiting to hear who the caller is and why. There is a brief pause on the other end before a voice speaks. “Hi, is this Bethany? I’m sorry for calling so late. My name is Melanie Martins. I’m a friend of Quinn.”Melanie.“He had been Melanie’s ex boyfriend…” Quinn had said that.Bethany immediately straightens up in bed, her full attention now on the caller. “Yes, this is Bethany. Quinn gave you my number?”“Yes ma’am, she gave it to me yesterday. I... I know the man who did that to Quinn.” Melanie says immediately, her voice steady but carrying a hint of urgency.Bethany’s heart skips a beat, he

“You know,” Marsh begins, his tone shifting to something more serious, “for a man who just lost his daughter, you seem remarkably calm.”John Worth feels the room grow cold around him. His heart pounds hard in his chest as Marsh’s words echo in his ears. He freezes, unable to look at anyone, especially not Daisy, whose presence beside him feels like an unbearable weight. Even she can’t raise her head and look him in the eyes, her lips thinning guiltily.Marsh leans forward, his expression sharp and expectant. “So, Mr. Worth,” he says slowly, “care to explain your relationship with Sienna in clearer terms? It seems there’s more you haven’t told us, to find the one who murdered your daughter, we will need the truth… Unless you don’t want us to find out who the killer really is.”John glances at Daisy, whose gaze remains firmly fixed on the floor and her twirling fingers. She hasn’t cried, but her eyes are wet, her silence louder than any accusation.Guilt gnaws at him, but he can’t find

John looks around, agitatedly at all the people around him, gaping silently.Only Marsh seems to find it amusing though as Halloway finds his way out of the interrogating room, no doubt back to the other side of the two way mirror.John lowers his head as he silences the call. The same number had called him some few days before, asking him to come over to the police station. He had obliged and done so, but now, in a bid to save Daisy from getting unjustly accused, he has waddled almost willingly into his own trouble."I think we have to start over, go back and begin again from the start now, Mr. Worth. You said you did not know Sienna until those few days before when she called your wife and revealed herself as your estranged daughter. How about you start from the point you cheated? Who is her mother? Because sadly, we need to let her family know that she is no more."John hangs his head as he mutters almost inaudibly. "Her mother is dead. I don't know if she has any families left, ex

Bethany Worth stood firm above him as she retreats her face, watching as Trevor doubles over in pain from the sharp kick she had delivered to his groin. His face contorting in agony as he crumpled to the ground, clutching himself in the lower part. He had used that same part of his body t hurt Quinn. She kicks him in the face again. For some reason, she is still not sated. He had used that part of him to hurt Quinn, a seventeen year old girl and then had the guts from wherever the fuck he had gotten them from, to come visit her in the hospital with a bouquet of flowers…The satisfaction she ought to get from seeing him so helpless after what he had done to Quinn, she ought to be filled with a sense of triumph she has not felt in a long time but the feeling is still missing.Maybe one more kick will do it.Raising the back of her heels, the pointy part, she places it inconspicuously on his curled toe.He yells all over again but Bethany does not remove the heel from his leg, a small sm

Arthur Worth stared at his phone earlier that morning, hesitating for a moment before pressing the call button. He had felt a knot in his stomach, but the call had to be made. With everything going on, it was time to take matters into his own hands, whether he took permission or not because who knows, Bethany might still want them to wait it out like mature adults. The phone rang a few times before a woman’s voice answered, sounding almost too cheerful for this early in the day.“Hello?” she said, her voice bright and eager, almost like she knew who it was that is calling her.Maybe she does, and has been expecting this call for quite a while.“Hi, this is Arthur Worth,” Arthur replied, trying to keep his voice calm and steady. “I wanted to know if you’d be available for lunch today. I need to discuss something important with you ma’am.”There was a brief pause, then a spectacular rush of excitement in her tone. “Of course, Mr. Worth! I’d love to, it’ll be my absolute pleasure. The afternoon air was cool as the man in black stepped out of his car. His brow furrowed as he watched the taillights of a vehicle pulling out of the parking lot, the sight strangely familiar. He stared after it for a moment, but once it disappeared around the corner, he shrugged it off as the car of another wretched individual coming to check up on another wretch living in the building ahead of him.He turned his attention to the run down building in front of him, its once strong structure now crumbling at the edges. The perfect example of age tearing down a place. The faint flicker of a streetlight nearby cast long shadows along the cracked pavement. Without a second thought, he began walking toward the entrance, his footsteps slow and deliberate. He knew who he was looking for but the exact room, he hopes on luck to find it because if he does not end the madness today, he does not know when he will.Inside, the building was just as bleak as its exterior. Time slows.Bethany’s fingers brush the handle of the driver’s side door just as the second beep-beep fades into the air. A bird chirps from the lamp post above the lot. The wheels of a nearby shopping cart squeal as someone exits the pharmacy across the road. Arthur opens his mouth to say something…And the world erupts.BOOM.It’s not just a noise., it’s a force. A living, monstrous thing that tears through air, glass, and metal like paper. The car explodes in a big explosion of fire and shrapnel, its roof splitting, hurling into the sky. The windshield vaporizes in a white hot flash and for the person standing right next to the explosion...Bethany is thrown violently backward. Not a stumble. Not a fall. She is launched into the air like a ragdoll and what goes up, always comes down. Her body hits the ground very hard. The sound is sickening, skin on pavement, ribs crunching, skull cracking and the audible sound of all of it.Then stillness.Alarms scream in every direction. The

He stops at the top of the stairs, takes one deep sigh, rubs his weak looking eyes and takes the few more steps into the building. He does not take big strides and no waving hands. Just quiet, precise steps through the front doors of the Precinct, wearing a weather beaten hoodie and jeans that have seen better years. His eyes are the kind that don’t blink enough, too haunted to remember how.Or at least that is what it looks like to whoever cares to give him a glance. At the front desk, Officer Laney gives him the once over. She’s halfway through sipping her third iced latte when she asks, “Can I help you sir?”The man doesn’t answer at first, first choosing to check if she is a police officer since she is in civilian clothes, then seeing her badge in her hands, he sighs audibly before responding, saying…“I need to talk to someone. Someone in charge of a particular case here.”L

She’s currently halfway through dressing, uniform pants already snug around her waist, boots laced to perfection, but her shirt still hanging on the back of a chair.“Come in,” Chara calls, her voice calm. She doesn’t bother rushing. The courtroom is brightly lit, smells like polished wood and paper and different, different smells of perfumes and cologne. It's still early in the morning, the sun barely slanting through the tall and somewhat dusty windows, but the room is already full, a lot of people seem to be quite interested in the case and other than that, there are also students who have come to just witness one and some other purposeful individuals, albeit, the courtroom is filled. The silence is thick, every cough or chair scrape feeling louder than it should because every sound that is not inevitable is not allowed in the court, it should always be bone silent and they all try to keep to the rule, although the silence can feel a bit suffocating but they can’t help it.At the defense table, John Worth stands stiffly, his head cast downwards staring at his feet or at the floor, either, wearing the same annoyingly orange jumper he has worn to every hearing in the past week. His hands rest by his sides, fisted

The morning sun filters through the trees in the large, green park that overlooks the pretty lake ahead. It’s warm. Peaceful. A soft breeze rolls across the lake, lifting the petals from scattered white roses and tugging at the corner of the prettily covered altar. Everything looks like it was summoned out of thin air, a lakeside setup, simple chairs, a path of white laid across green grass, and yet it all feels perfectly right. They didn’t plan it. Not really. They did not have the time to do so anyway, because every minute now counts.Every. Single. Minute. But love doesn’t always need a plan. The holding cell stinks terribly of sweat and urnine and not so well taken care of body discharges.Smells disgusting in there. And it is not just the stink of sweat or urine, like the average downtown drunk tank, no. This one also reeks of guilty men dressed up in expensive cologne. Designer jeans and loafers scuffed on concrete, the exact dressings that they had all been arrested in though they do stink now from not having baths for days.Five men, once golden boys in nightclubs and boardrooms, now sit on cracked terrazzo floors under extremely dim bulb lights.Trevor sits with his legs crossed, perfectly calm for someone in such a situation. The others? Not so much, they are relying on him and for someone they are leaning on, he seems a little too calm for their liking.“Trevor, man,” hisses Logan, slick back that is not so slick now, pacing the cell like a caged animal. “You said your dad would never let this happen, you said you’ll never spill our names now look at all of us, sitt

The day began with yells, cackles of laughter within a small family and small children, all laughing toothily around the large house. Scattered around were pink balloons and a particular glittery plastic tiara that didn’t quite fit on Bethany’s tiny head. She was three years old at the time, full of toothy grins and sticky fingers and loved pancakes with a lot of syrup, and today, today was her birthday.“Mommy,” she said, swinging her legs beneath the kitchen table that was considerably ten times her total weight, “I want McDonald’s burger for my birthday.”Martha, standing by the counter with a juice box in one hand and her purse in the other, gave her daughter a bemused look. “Are you sure? We can make you anything you want. Pancakes? Spaghetti? A cake shaped like a pony? Where did you even hear about that?”Bethany shook her small curls. “You got Mason one, I want my own too today. McDonald’s and the park. I wanna ride the horsies! They are cuteeee.”Beside her, Seven year old Mas
