Evette’s eyes gleamed with pride. She knew deep down that these investments had little to do with her, but she enjoyed the flattery regardless, even if it was fake.

People around her egged on, "Both Percival and Trent are really good to you. If you were to choose someone to marry, it’d be tough to decide."

"Honestly, Trent is a better choice since he’s the rightful heir."

"But Percival isn’t bad either."

Feigning shyness, Evette replied, "What are you all talking about? I’ve only met them a few times. We’re not close." She wasn’t lying, but her teary, feigned shy eyes made it seem otherwise.

"Evette’s shy, huh? If you ask me, pick the considerate one. I heard Percival treated his ex-wife really well; he even bought an island, Eula Island, and built a theme park in her name. How romantic! I saw some old news about his ex. Even when her family went bankrupt and she had a mental breakdown, he never left her. Where do you find a guy like that? If he loves someone, he goes all out."
