Adira ran out of the house, her heart threatening to explode in her chest. She panted heavily, fighting so hard to steady her breaths. But no matter how hard she tried, it was useless.

The car keys was still with her. So, she returned to the car she had driven in with, and with shaky hands, drove out of the compound.

Her cheeks became the canvas for tears as she navigated down the road. She never thought it was possible to feel such amount of pain. At that moment, she felt as though, she had been stabbed on a spot that could never be healed.

Her vision became too blurry, and finally, she screeched to an abrupt halt by the side of the road. She bent her head on the steering and wept profusely. Her heart was aching too much, she wasn't sure she could survive it.

'I thought you were different. Decent. I may have watched you for a long time, but I definitely missed this part of you,' Nikolai's words haunted her.
