Bones aching with a dull pain, Jake sat up in his disheveled bed and just sighed.

Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to have pulled a double shift, but he needed the money, even if he hated his job– if you could even call it that.

Being ordered around by people in a mail room wasn’t exactly where he saw himself as a kid.

He saw himself as maybe a powerful businessman, athlete, or engineer. But nope, not Jake.

He realized around his first year of college that he should just go into the workforce. But god, he despised it more than anything.
