Chapter Thirty-Seven

Treasa was kicking her little feet and making cute baby noises as she stared up at her Daddy and I from the blanket we had laid out on the ground to sit on. Liam had the idea for us to have a nice, peaceful family picnic in the luscious green field just beyond our yard line. The water in the distance added to the beauty with its white on deep blue waves, slapping at the rocks that lined the shore.

“I’ll never get over how beautiful it is here.”

Liam rested his head on mine as we sat there in the sun, watching Treasa examine her own hands. “It is beautiful. The scenery was what I missed the most while I was in the states looking for you.”

A stabbing pain in my temples blurred my vision. I Instinctively raised my hands to my head to massage my temples. Liam was trying to reach for me. The pain vanished as the mental doors slammed open and Chase’s panic rang through.
