Chapter 108: Surgery

Torture. That’s what those of us waiting are going through. – Dixie

The surgery waiting room was painted a light blue with dark gray and navy furniture. The plastic tables held an assortment of newspapers, magazines and one well worn copy of Percy Jackson.

It was doubtful that any of them were paying any attention to the décor. Much less anything that was in the magazines. As if to prove this point, Isaac took the magazine away from his wife and turned it right-side up.

“I always read my magazines upside down.” Dixie said.

“Uh-huh.” Isaac chuckled. “And I watch porn hub for the articles.”

There was a light ripple of nervous laughter around the room.

“Brother, I think you’re on the wrong website if you’re getting articles.” Isiah told him with a grin.

“Are these how to articles?” Israel teased. “Anything our wife wants you to work on?”

“Please, for the love of God, do not answer that.” Law pleaded.

There was another round of laughter and the tension seemed to lessen in the room.
