Some footmen were already busy lifting their luggages into the massive new home, taking a chance to secretly glance at the pair who were just being children.

The rest of the males followed Philip behind with their eyes drinking in the look of the mansion. They seemed pleased enough. Even Jason had a frown on, a good of course. One of the most pleasing looks he could give. It was that beautiful.

All the corners of the large hall they'd arrived into stretched through a doorway either to open up into another hall or a hallway. The floors were a shade of dark blue terrazzo, matching daringly with the white plaster which was the top.

Of course he knew better than to dare someone who made the word DARING herself. He went straight to washing the blood of the cut with some fresh water and a towel. Well this one did not seem to excite the Scottish in any way. The pinching pain made her groan for real this time, but she stayed still. However, she had gotten a laugh out of the Duke as she heard him say, "You pervertive little maiden. How did that feel?"She laughed away her worries and sighed genuinely, relishing the warmth she felt because of his presence. This time, it was something innocent, and sad. Because somewhere deep down, she knew they'd flirt all they want but he would still go find some BEFITTING.And that was som

Cautiously, they stopped riding as well and stared back at him in confusion. He then turned specifically to Timothy, "For your question, we need important information from a Baron I know. And as for yours," he faced the Earl of Vetcom, "I would say it's because Monica is unfortunately the most stiff-necked and irresistible woman I have ever met. She feels she could go through the doors of a men's party in a lady's skin. Am I right Monica?"As she smiled, obviously having no answer to that, Earl Robinson helped out, "We trust you on that one darling. Just be careful."Dusk had fallen a long time ago, making the flickering lights from the empire shine in the highest blossom. Nax was still busy analysing mo

Chapter twenty sixEarl, as pesky as always, decided to break the lustful aura of his favorite friend. While stalking behind Philip, he patted his shoulder playfully and rasped his words, "She's all yours Your Grace. You see such a fiery woman and you play the committed man."While Philip chose to ignore and roll his eyes away, his libido successfully broken, Jason and Nax chuckled in agreement. Now back to the matter at hand, the whole Anfield clan watched their bait walk up to their target and waited expectantly and deep in concentration. Even Peter had reduced his women to a single lass who fed grapes to him. It was such a fun show.Monica reached the Baron's table and sat herself upon it, using her hand to support her weight and arching her hip upwards. That pose was the most tempting for the middle aged Roothewell Henchele. While he smiled up at the woman on his table, he offered her a glass of whatever he was drinking.Monica shook her head in denial, tipping it instead towards

Approaching him, he lowered his height in a squat for better scrutiny. "How well do you know my father?" The Baron seemed to have frowned a bit, they noticed. Still, he clammed up, reluctant to speak.Philip glanced at Monica with narrowed eyes, speaking a language with the stare only she was able to understand. Then, she obeyed. The lady pushed the blade closer through the Baron's skin, slightly piercing it and threatening to go deeper. With a groan, he grimaced at the sight of his own blood sipping down his clothes, "Fine!" Then he felt the weapon pressing his skin shift away as well...just a bit."I'm listening," Philip pushed his stand even more. After drawing shaky breaths for something that looked like strength, Roothewell sighed in frustration and let out

And although sweat dripped down his face and his heartbeat increased, he stalked forward carefully with his sword ready. Now the noise came from up the stairs, making him turn quickly enough to face it.The last thing he felt was a hand around him from behind and a knife to his throat. Not long after, Philip sliced the soldier and pushed him down. He retrieved a cloth and busied himself with wiping the blood thoroughly off it. "You can come out now! The con is over,"he shouted into nothingness to the man he thought he was talking to, precisely the one he was supposed to be with.It worried him slightly when seconds after, Nax had not emerged. The general had been the cause of the distracting footsteps, but now the shadow he saw approaching was surely not Nax's.The silhouette on the wall came closer and retrieved a sword. It was almost difficult to get their feet through the river of bodies."That little whore," Earl gasped under his breath while his hands gripped Jason to his side to support his steps.Lancaster soldiers lay dead with their bodies battered. The number was well over significant, and looking at them would prove the Scottish was in a disgusting mood.Unavoidably, The Duke looked out through a window deep in an aclove at the left of the hallway. It seemed the party was over. Well that wasn't the part that disturbed him.A little more than twenty soldiers were making their way across one of the battlements leading to the tower they were in. And they surely had a different imprint on their armours from that of the Lancaster corpses that lay before them. A little more scrutiny made him realise they were guard of this very empire.A gasp escaped his lips at that moment wi
