“Why are we sharing a room?” She asked the same question on my mind when we were finally in our room—a wedding suite. Just great.

“Maverick has someone following us.”

“How do you even know that?” She crossed her arms, clearly calling me out for what she thought was a lie.

“Because it’s someone I know.” I was already annoyed and her tone wasn’t helping. “Listen, I have no interest in women who don’t want me. Forget a different room, I would let you sleep in a different hotel if you wanted. But if we want to pull this off, we cannot even take a room with two beds.”
