Chapter 6 Surprise

Early morning... Kristina prepares their breakfast and fixes their things. After setting up the table, she went to Chad's bedroom and woke him up.

"Good morning Cheeky Cheeks, time to wake?" Kristina said to her son while fetching him from his bed. "Ummm Mom, I am still sleepy. Can you please call my teacher and inform her that I'll be absent for today'" Chad said to her mother while still hugging his big teddy bear stuffed toy. Kristina said," No. We can't do that. You need to go to school and Mommy will go to the office okay."

She fetched Chad and send him to their bathroom already. They both have a quick bath before going down to the dining table.

They both enjoyed their breakfast and Chad said, " Mom don't forget the presentation for our Family Day this Saturday."

  "Okay, I'll call your Uncle Kristof later so that we can prepare for it. What do you want? A dance presentation or we all sing a song?" she asked Chad.

Chad pointed his right finger on his temple as if thinking so deep. "Well, we can do both Mom, sing and dance together with costumes and props," Chad said to her mother excitedly.

"You are becoming so creative son," Kristina touches and messes up the hair of her son while saying this, "You really are like your mom haha."

After having their breakfast, the Mother and Son tandem is now hurriedly heading to Kristina's car. They might be late if they will continue chasing each other.

Kristina drives her car and sends her son to school first. Her mobile phone is vibrating as if someone is calling her. She has a discipline of driving with a focus especially when her son is with her.

She didn't pick up her mobile phone instead she said to Chad to seat properly instead. "It's not work-related since my instruction with my staff to call me when it's 8 AM only," Kristina said to herself.  Kristina then continued driving.

After reaching the school, "Behave in school son. I'll fetch you later okay," Kristina said to Chad while kissing his cheeky cheeks. "Sure Mom but don't forget to plot our presentation for our Family Day okay," Chad reminded her. "No worries son. Mommy will do my best okay," she gave assurance to her son.

"I love you, Mommy. Take care," Chad said to her while heading to his classroom. "I love you more," Kristina then smiled with her son while waving goodbye. Kristina then drive her car to her office building.

Upon reaching it, she hurriedly brought her laptop and shoulder bag. "Good morning Madam," Roxan smilingly greeted her.

"Good morning," Kristina replied. While walking to her room, her lady employees are quite giggling, as if there is someone there. Kristina then has a sight of a handsome man who looked very familiar seating in their lobby.

She proceeds to her room first then calls Roxan. "Hi, Roxan, who is the man over there? Is he the Wall of Asia's representative He is quite too early," said Kristina.

Roxan excitedly said," I think the flower is blooming."

"What did you say? I said who is he?" Kristina finds Roxan's words quite intriguing.

Roxan then said," He is your friend he said. He is Mr. Nathaniel Montevista."

Kristina has goosebumps all of a sudden. "What is he doing here?" she asked herself.

Roxan witnessed Kristina's reaction and she got confused.

"Errr Madam, do you know him really?" she asked Kristina.

A moment of silence. Then Kristina replied," Well yes he was my former classmate. Send him in and prepare two cups of coffee please."

"Got it, Madam, I will serve those with two slices of Macadamia Cake as well," Roxan obediently said.

"Thank you," she said.

Roxan then went to Nathaniel to invite him inside Kristina's office.

"Sir Nathaniel, I will send you to Madam already," Roxan politely said to Nathaniel.

"Oh my God, why is it there two Godly handsome men seeing Madam these past few days, I hope Madam can spare one for me, "Roxan said to herself while smiling.

Kristina's POV:

"Why is it he is here all of a sudden? I thought he is on board," she said to herself while retouching her lipstick and make-up.

She even checked her wardrobe if it's okay. "Hmmm, why is it I suddenly am conscious?

He is just Nathaniel, Kristina, please behave," she advised herself while having goosebumps.

When the door opens, Kristina sets her eyes on her documents.

She doesn't know why she is behaving this way all of a sudden.

"Hi Tin, I am trying to call you a while ago but it seems that you are driving so I proceed here directly," Nathaniel smiles with her. 

Kristina slowly meets Nathaniel's eyes while he is talking.

She is quite amazed by how Nathaniel changed a lot. He is perfectly handsome and his teeth, wow he has a perfect smile.

It is as though Kristina feels that she was in high school right now.

"Tin?"Nathaniel asked her when he saw she's not moving.

"Aww, my apology Nats. Honestly, I can't believe it's you. Why are you here? I thought you are still on board, "Kristina almost stammer while talking to him.

"Aren't you happy to see me, Tin," Nathaniel asked while seating in front of Kristina.

He is so excitedly seeing her.

He would like to hug her tightly but he is controlling himself. 

Kristina replied," No, actually I was just shocked seeing you early this morning here in my office knowing that you are onboard. Of course, I am happy. "

 She stands and offers her hand to Nathaniel to shake.

He stands also and reached her hand, but to Kristina's surprise, Nathaniel held her hand but embraced her.

Kristina became dazed and can't react right away to his action.

"God, I've missed you. I've missed you so much Tin," Nathaniel closely said to Kristina's ear.

He can't control himself anymore.

He even wanted to kiss her but he doesn't want Kristina to suddenly avoid him.

It is as if time stops and both of them stayed in that position.

Nathaniel hugged Kristina so tight while she was dazed and not moving at all.

Kristina was stunned then closed her eyes to feel his embrace and smell his soothing manly fragrance.

Until she realized then that they were both in her office, she slowly pushes Nathaniel and said, "Hey we are in my office," then she smiled at him. "

I'm sorry Tin, I got carried away. I just missed you so much that's why," Nathaniel slowly releases Kristina from his embrace and goes back to his seat.

"I never felt this way before," Kristina said to herself. 

"I'll just leave you for a second, please wait for me here."

She then went to the restroom and composed herself.

She looked at the mirror and talked to herself, "Kristina, what's happening to you? It's just Nats, your former classmate. Please behave well."

After 5 minutes she went back to her desk.

That time, Roxan is serving their coffee and pastries already.

"Sir Nathaniel, please have some coffee," she said politely to Nathaniel.

"Thank you, Miss,"  Nathaniel said gratefully.

"I am Roxan, Sir. Madam Kristina's Executive Assistant," she said.

"Nice meeting you Roxan," Nathaniel shook her hand.

Roxan reached accepted his handshake gigglingly. "Same with you Sir. I'll leave now," she said to Nathaniel when she saw Kristina's sharp look at her.

"Madam, I will go ahead," she smiled at her Boss.

"Woooh, Madam might punch me later hehe," she said to herself while leaving Kristina's office.

"I am calling you awhile ago, but it seems that you are driving that's why I went straight here in your office. I hope you won't mind?" Nathaniel said to Kristina.

"Of course not, it's okay. Besides I am so happy to see you too," Kristina happily said to him as if she is floating in the air.

It seems that both of them have a connection ---- connecting their past to present hmmmmm.

"Anyways I just dropped by straight from the airport. I came only this morning and since your office is quite near, I visited you first," Nathaniel said to her.

"So you haven't rest yet? I think you should you home first for your mother and rest okay," Kristina showed her concern to him while sipping her coffee.

"Yes, I will go ahead. Can I go to your place tonight, I want to meet your son as well. I have something for both of you," he asked permission from Kristina.

Kristina replied, "Okay, I will prepare dinner tonight in my apartment. See you then."

Nathaniel now stands and embraces her once again.

"I'll go ahead, don't work too much. See you tonight," he said and kissed Kristina's cheek.

She was quite shocked and her face flushed in red color.

"Why is it I can't react with his actions, as if I like it also?" she asked herself.

Nathaniel slowly released Kristina from his embrace and leave with a smile.

He waved his hand as a goodbye.

"Thanks for dropping by Nats," she said.

"See you tonight Tin," he said then left.

After Nathaniel exit the door, Roxan came in

"Madam, Madam Oh my God!" she giggles while saying this to Kristina ," Can you spare one to me please... First it was Mr. Gracer now it's Sir Nathaniel," teased Roxan.

"Well, what else can I say?" Kristina smiled at Roxan.  "There is no push to win between the two of them Madam, my Gosh!" Roxan excitedly shouts out.

Kristina signaled Roxan to keep her mouth shut, "Please keep quiet. You know gossip here in our office, they don't mind anybody," she said.

"Hmmn, almost all of the lady employees are not gossiping with you Madam, same with me, we are all excited for you so no need to worry at all," Roxan said.

Kristina then does her workload the whole day.

After office hours she will fetch her son in his school.

Upon reaching Chad's school, the kid excitedly hopped into her car and kissed her mother.

"Hi Mommy, have you already plot our presentation?" he asked.

Kristina felt guilty because she almost forgot it since she had an unexpected visitor this morning. 

"Ahm we will talk about it tonight son. By the way, your Tito Nats will visit us tonight," she said to her son.

Kristina then thought that she can probably ask Nats to help her with their presentation for Chad's Family Day this coming Saturday.

Besides he is her childhood friend and she is somehow at ease with Nathaniel.

"Who is Tito Nats by the way, Mom? I don't think I know him," Chadasked her.

Kristina said, "He was my childhood friend's son. He just came from abroad and will visit us. He wants to know you."

"Know me? Why? Is he pursuing you, Mom?" Chad straightly asked her.

"He will just visit us. Don't assume anything else," she smiled at her son.

She knows how her son is thinking.

Chad became silent after his mother said that until they reached their apartment.

Chad is not talking to her.

"Son are you angry?"Kristina asked her son. 

"Nope, I am just thinking about you. The other night, your business partner sent you home and tonight your childhood friend will visit you. Perhaps it's the right time Mom for you to be happy and have a partner," he smiled with her.

Kristina was shocked. Is her son a 7-year-old boy or an adult? Talking about these matters with her is really shocking, even though she knows that her son is quite matured compared with his age. It seems that her son is happy for her.

"By the way Mom, I will be the one to interrogate them both okay. I have to make sure that whoever will be your partner, will be the best Daddy for me too," he excitedly said.

"I said don't assumed yet my son," she messed his hair while going inside their apartment.

"I will prepare dinner for the three of us. Please do behave while your Tito Nats is here okay," Chad nodded.

"Go upstairs and change your clothes now," Kristina happily said to her son.

Chad's POV:

"Well, I need to prepare some questions for Tito Nats," he said to himself.

After changing his clothes, he gets his pencil and started to write some questions to be raised later on. He is so excited. 

Kristina then change her clothes and started to prepare a sumptuous dinner for the three of them. She is quite excited also about Nathaniel's presence. It is as if they have just seen each other last month, though their last encounter was when they were just in elementary days.
