Alec was not aware of the hole Ben had dug for him as he looked curiously in the direction Ben called out. He was half expecting the young miss of Witherby although he was curious who Mrs Adalase really was. He was onboard with all the Adalase gossip ever since they met. His smile froze as he saw Dana emerging hugging Barry nestled in her arms, her signature smile on her face. “Barry, dad has agreed to let you stay back.” Ben turned to reassure Barry before Alec changed his mind. “Really??” His little face lit up with the brilliance of a thousand lamps. Ben nodded as Alec was still sitting dumb struck. Barry wriggled out of Dana’s arms and ran to Alec happily throwing his meaty arms around his neck excitedly “Daddy loves me best…. Daddy’s best.” Alec frowned, he couldn’t go back on his word now, could he? He didn’t have the heart once he saw how excited Barry was. He looked a bit dazed as he looked at Dana who was snuggled in Ben’s embrace. It wasn’t a conscious effort to spite h
“Yes… yes… sincere…. sincere…” Ruth nodded. “Give me 3 mins to close up or else these clowns will offend someone else who might not be kind enough.” Ruth muttered as she sent the staff who started apologizing to Dana and closed up. “Where should we go?” Sarah looked at Dana. “Let’s go to Glitz.” Ruth spoke excitedly without noticing Sarah’s gaze. Dana shrugged and nodded “I just have to message my friend who we were meant to be catching up here. You might have to buy an extra drink.” “No problem.” Ruth waved her hand. Dana sent the message of change in venue to Lara before heading out with Ruth. Ruth had been in a terrible mood all week. She really needed a drink. She didn’t feel like going out with all her so-called friends as she wasn’t in the mood for pretentions. Perhaps a drink with strangers was the way to go. Halfway through Sarah received a call from the servants at home asking her if she could come back. “Somethings come up; I have to go back. Why don’t we go another
“Please accept my apology for the insult.” Dana spoke, her forehead wrinkled. “I have been a little jittery due to my recent experiences.” “Nothing a lunch treat can’t solve.” Jagger smiled impishly. “Okay.” Dana agreed straightforwardly. “All the people in this room, I choose the venue, your husband pays.” “I will pay. My husband is innocent.” Dana pursed her lips and added with a pout “You can only choose a venue that I can afford.” “Are you being fair?” Jagger complained. Ben was about to open his mouth to support his wife when he was shocked with her next statement. “Alright then I will be unfair. My best friend’s fiancé is the chief of military intelligence. I will just call him and tell him that you have some shady business here.” Dana threatened with a cute pout. She was anyway being accused of being unfair. “That’s right. I will tell my fiancé.” Lara piped happily. Ed “” “So, I have two choices” Jagger repeated feigning a hateful expression “Either let you treat me wi
Dana was woken up by Irene’s shrieks. The beauticians had come, and they were not yet up. The two ran like a duo of headless chooks to get ready before opening the door. “Why are you here?” Dana looked at Tarz in surprise. “Your husband ordered.” Tarz smirked before getting down to business. Ana and her team came up to help her do the pre-make-up routine before the girls from Irene’s team came over to help with putting on the dress. Everything seemed surreal even though Dana knew this was for the photoshoot. She wished Ben could see her in this dress. She quietly took a picture to show him later. Tarz weaved his magic in no time. Her hair was done in a floral bun adorned with pearls and rose buds. Tarz finished his work after putting on the diamond necklace and earrings that he brought along with the accessories. “Bellissima” Tarz threw a flying kiss as he admired his work. She looked like a fairy.. radiant and pure…. Irene came in wearing one of the bridesmaids’ dresses. “You
A few hours earlier- The bride and groom were gracefully performing the first dance in their classic manner. Ben nodded towards his mates; this was the cue for everyone to join. “Wife, are you tired?” Ben asked as he stared dotingly at his beautiful bride. “Um” “How about we run away?” “Can we?” Ben didn’t answer, his lips hooked up to a devilish grin as he twirled with her towards the side door and then out. He carried her to the far end of the reception hall away from the car park and gave a loud shrill whistle followed by a low short whistle. Dana hooked her arms around Ben’s neck and peacefully cradled herself in his arms. Thunder galloped and stopped in front of them. Ben helped Dana on first and then got on. He looked back at the Rose petals that fell of the train of Dana’s dress and smiled. “Good boy, Thunder!” Ben massaged thunder’s neck before letting out a burst of two short whistles. Thunder acknowledged and started off in a canter. “Hold on tight” Ben warned before
Everyone other than Stewart, Adele, Osmond and Anna left over the next two days. All of Anna’s previous reservations melted as she saw Ben’s hard work during the last week. Dana’s reaction during the wedding was proof that Dana didn’t know anything about this, and all of this was planned by Ben. She had to give him full marks, he had not only diligently invited everyone that mattered to Dana but also made all arrangements to make sure they were all entertained and happy. She couldn’t believe that this was the ruthless man she read about, nor could she believe that the Adalases were such a nice bunch to get along with. “Satisfied?” Osmond hooked his eyebrows as he watched his wife. “Um” Anna nodded with a blissful smile “He is not as ruthless as they say”. “Oh that he is my dear!” Osmond chuckled but continued as he saw her confused gaze “This side of him is only for his family.” “Oh” Anna nodded as she sighed giving him a knowing grin “It takes one to know one.” “No my dear.” Os
Maria Foster was also released a month later with a warning to not approach the victim. She knew her original sentence was reduced due to Dana being soft hearted and decided in her heart to return the favor if she ever got the chance. After resting for a month, Therese decided to catch up with her previous workmates Maylin and Zara. Therese didn’t know what it was, but she could feel their resistance to meet up with her. If it was before she would have definitely ignored them but now, she couldn’t; she needed their help to get back into her previous position at A&E. They reluctantly agreed to meet up with Therese. They knew about Therese’s family situation and also knew that she was without a job. Both of them feared that she wanted to borrow money from them. “Oh my god! How long has it been?” Therese hugged them excitedly as they reached the table she had been waiting for since the past hour. “Way too long!” Maylin sighed as she sat down. “What happened to your posting in B countr
The next day Dana’s phone went off again as they were having breakfast. The caller id lit up with ‘Therese’. Ben extended his hand to answer the phone as he saw her knitted brows. “Don’t” Dana shook her head. Ben arched his eyebrows in an enquiring manner. “I wonder what schemes she has now.” Dana knitted her brows “She must be aware by now that Jeremy is no longer associated with me and that I am married.” Dana was not a fool to think that Therese’s call was innocent. Ben listened with a doting smile. “Ben, would it be too willful? I want to tear open her farce.” Dana pursed her lips to one side while she narrowed her eyes mischievously. “You are my, Ben Adalase’s wife. You have the clout to be willful.” Ben tapped the tip of her nose affectionately. “Umm.” Dana nodded maintaining her mischievous smile “I will settle accounts old and new”. She dialed Lara from Ben’s phone. “Ben??” Ed answered the call as Lara was still sleeping exhausted from his torture. “Ed, its me.” Dana g
