Lisa was waiting anxiously for Ben. She didn’t know if he suspected her since he didn’t call her like he usually did when he was drugged. She purposely greeted him at the dinner to make him aware that she was at the dinner. But the call never came. She couldn’t come to work earlier even though she wanted to as she had taken a week off preemptively. According to their plan, she would let Ben know that she could only give herself if he signed the marriage papers. They assumed that since he didn’t have any other options, he would comply. Her original intention for requesting time off was to give everyone at the company to adjust their mindset to the change in her status. She had written on her leave form that she was going home to spend time with her folks in the countryside. She couldn’t cancel her leave, she had to follow through in order not to let Ben suspect her. She knew his shrewdness, once he knew, her fate would be worse than death itself. She had left the next morning without w
The Adalase’s arrived first followed by Ben’s and Dana’s friends. Ben introduced Auntie Eva, Steve and Kim to the rest of the family as Dana’s family. Kim chatted nonstop about her exams once she finished complaining about missing a chance to be the bridesmaid. “You haven’t missed your chance. Just don’t piss your sister off. Prepare well for the exams.” Ben smiled. “Really?” Ben made a gesture to tell her that it was a secret. Kim gestured to zip her lips and throw the keys away. Once all the introductions were done, everyone sat down while Bryan stood up to toast “Here’s to A666, without which my hopeless brother would still be chasing his dreams.” Everyone laughed, Ben wrinkled his brows resentfully “How am I hopeless?” “Hur… hur… hur… Even Ed who is usually a piece of wood had caught up with his girlfriend… what else should I call you?” Bryan laughed as he raised his toast high and drank it in a gulp. Ed smiled proudly ‘He had bested Ben in something, but more importantly b
Monday morning- Lisa arrived early, she wanted to chat with Ben before anyone came. She had collected details of Dana’s past during the weekend with the help of her special friend. She knew Ben and Shadow arrived at 8:00 am sharp; the office only started at 8:30, this was plenty of time for her to talk to Ben uninterrupted. However, Ben didn’t arrive until 9:00, just before he was about convene a meeting. Lisa acted like she was delegated to assist with the meeting and rushed about doing stuff without giving Freida and the other two a chance to even ask if their assistance was needed. Shadow made sure Ben was aware as he had more oversight of the secretaries’ room, and he knew Ben was in his own blissful world. Ben walked out with Shadow as he would normally with Lisa following in tow. He stopped in front of the secretaries’ room “Why aren’t you joining?” “We… we…” Piper stuttered. “We thought Lisa was attending.” Freida spoke with a nonchalant expression. She was not afraid. She
“Wife, are you finished for the day?” Ben picked up the call and started chatting. “Nope. Just a few little things; I should be done by 5.” Dana replied with a smile. “Ben, what was that call for?” Dana couldn’t help asking since Ben had no intention of explaining. “Wife, I wanted you to know the grief I am suffering because you won’t let me publicize that I am married.” Ben spoke in a pained voice. “Puchi…” Dana giggled. “Wife, I also wanted you to know the type of person Lisa is. This is one of my secretaries and probably more difficult to deal with.” Ben pursed his lips “I have made your life difficult.” “Don’t worry about useless things. They are what they are… the past has already happened. Neither I nor you have a time machine. So, we just have to move forward.” Dana shrugged. “But wife, what if….” Ben was truly worried that Lisa would instigate Dana. “What if we make one?” Dana smiled mischievously as she typed her last document “Then let’s go back to the beginning and l
Ben saw Lisa coming up to him from the corner of his eyes and nodded to Ed. He had promised Dana that he wouldn’t interfere, but he didn’t say his friends would behave. Ed stretched his legs lazily even though he had Lara in his arms as Lisa reached him, he was standing a few feet away from Dana and Ben. Dana was standing nestled in Ben’s embrace and Lisa landed face forward a few inches away from Dana. “Are you alright?” Arora rushed forward to help her up and turned to yell at Ed. She had no idea who Ed was, but she knew Lara. They were competitors and the bitch who got the Peli contract. “You don’t have to fall at her feet to beg forgiveness.” Lara snickered before Arora got her chance. She felt Ed was too handsome. “I…. Major General…” Lisa lowered her head, her eyes brimmed with tears as she lifted her eyes to look at Ed with grievance. Arora paused as she saw Lisa’s attitude towards Ed; She was a smart woman; she knew how to read people. “Ben…” Lisa turned her pitiful perf
Irene paced anxiously around her little workshop; Amber was meant to be here last week; She agreed to be the model for her clothing line for lumier's 'designer of the year' competition collection, but she was not reachable. In a panic she dialed Gail- “Hello” Gail’s lazy voice came from the other end. “Gail, it’s Irene.” “How’s everything?” “Not good… not good…” Irene shook her head even though she knew Gail couldn’t see her. “Do you know where Amber is?” “No. Why?” Gail’s face bloomed with a smile confident that Irene couldn’t see her. “I can’t reach her … she’s meant to be here to try the clothes and make adjustments.” “Sorry dear…” Gail paused “Tell you what…. I will ask her to call you if she calls me and I will also try calling her.” “Don’t worry, Amber might have gone for a break and should be back by the end of the week.” Gail comforted with feigned concern, her lips curling up in ridicule. “How is the jewelry coming along?” Irene asked anxiously. “They are coming al
Dana shook her head with a smile seeing Esmond’s eagerness. She drew a rose and gave it him “Cut this design from this stone.” She handed him the rhodochrosite crystal she picked up “The bigger the better. Also leave two drill holes on the petals at the back “Bigger means?” Esmond was good with his hands, but he needed exact dimensions. “Would you be able to get a 5-8 cm one from this?” Dana pursed her lips. “Sure” “Alright then, make it 8” “Er…” Esmond pulled his ears “When do you need it by?” “Would day after tomorrow be too soon?” Dana wrinkled her brows. “Nope.” Esmond shrugged and muttered as he walked away “Who needs to sleep anyway?” Dana giggled as she handed the stones she had selected. “Is that everything madam?” “Please… call me Dana.” Dana frowned “I wanted a deep pink-brown round stone, but it wasn’t here.” Marcen scratched the back of his head as he took inventory in his head. “I have one, but it is slightly large, about this big.” He made a circle with his ha
Dana worked without stopping. She started with the resin molds for the moon pendant; she filled the molds with all the individual components, a kissing couple mold about 2- 3 cms was filled with a light-yellow resin and deep yellow resin for small flower petal molds. She made the outline for the half-moon with yellow gold; She mixed the deep blue with a drop of black to make the moon. A little bit of gold leaf bits and white dried flower were sprinkled on the lower half of the half moon. After one hour a beautiful half-moon pendant was finished; a flame yellow flower blooming from the lower tip of the halfmoon, from the flower emerged a couple kissing, deep in love. The earring accompanying the set was a simple one, each earring had four small stars hanging one below the other connected by alternating fine white and yellow gold rings. The stars were made from clear resin with gold leaf to add magic. Dana stretched for a bit before starting on the earrings for the peacock set. The ear
