36. Defiance.

Blake's POV:

"Welcome back, Alpha," my three elders stood up from their seats and greeted me with a bow.

"Thank you, please take your seats," I gestured for them to take their seats and they all sat down while I walked to my chair with a poker face.

I took my place at the grand council table, flanked by my three trusted elders whose gazes bore onto me. The tension in the room was palpable as their piercing gazes bored into me, obviously demanding answers as to why I up and left when I needed to provide them with more answers about my fated human.

I sighed heavily and began the meeting, "Good morning Elders," I greeted them with steady eye contact and they bobbed their heads in unison.

"Good morning Alpha, I hope you are now well rested after the week-long vacation you took," Edina exasperated a sigh of sarcasm, I glared at her for insubordination while clenching my fists...
